Ned never ever shunned Jon. He didn't shun any of the kids under him. Not even Theon. Ned was close to and dearly loved by all his kids. Maybe it's hard to understand without having read the books. But, nah, Jon and Ned were close. Ned used to pray in his head all the time that Robb and Jon would grow up close as brothers. And they did. Now Cat definitely shunned him.
@whateverreally1347 Жыл бұрын
Ned definitely did not get close to Theon. Because he knew that it might be his duty to execute him as a hostage one day if Balon rebelled again, that was the whole point of taking him as “ward”.
Maybe not, but he should have told kat the truth. It's not unbelievable for a woman to love another person's child. And hated her for that. And hated Ned for his loyal stubborn crap. And he was a liar anyway. But he loved all his kids.

But was it? To me that makes no sense at all. What did she learn from the Faceless Men? 1) You must give up your identity to become No One. 2) You must learn how to become whatever persona needed to fulfill the contract awarded to you and it is not for you to reason why a person must die. Valar Morghulis! 3) You must serve the many faced god (all religions equally) Valar Doharies and once accepted into this guild of assassins, you must obey on penalty of death. In reality, according to the show Arya learnt: 1) To fight with a stick whilst blind, NOT the very many "magical" arts that Jaqin displayed in Harrenhal. 2) That she could break all the rules and ultimately get away with that. 3) That Jaqin is pleased that No One is Arya Stark of Winterfell! WTF???

I love seeing Arya smile. I do wish we got to see that more often. Poor girl has been through the ringer. Aaron, that’s a parallel I never caught onto: Cersei and Tyrion both making a pact with fanatics. That’s a very cool connection. “I choose violence.” That line is fantastic!! Brienne is the most loyal person to have by your side and she has genuine love for the people she follows. She is truly beautiful inside and out. Obviously The High Sparrow is the one to get rid of trial by combat because it’s “brutish,” yet this man is fine with the septas beating Cersei, Margaery, and Loras. He’s fine with his little sparrows going around beating people with clubs because they’re ‘sinners.’ He’s fine with making people forcibly walk naked through the streets for ‘justice.’ The hypocrisy from this man is never ending! Jamie is definitely one of the most complex characters of the show (along with Theon and Sansa, in my opinion) and I love that about him. He says that none of those people matter to him, but if that were the case he wouldn’t have negotiated with the Tully force and potentially let Brienne take them North. It just happens to be the case that Cersei matters more than everything else because she’s sadly a permanent piece of him. It’s all very complicated, but very human with how self depricative Jamie can be. “A girl is Arya Stark of Winterfell, and I’m going home.” SPEAK YOUR TRUTH BABY GIRL!!

He could've easily not been captured in the 1st place! He gave her the coin, knowing full well she'd use it eventually. Jaquan knows everything, he knew she'd thrown the coin in the sea so he knew she'd hidden needle and never said anything. He knew she would react to Meryn Trant so sent her to the docks, this gave him the opportunity to make her blind to perfect her fighting skills and to ensure she would never truly get lost and become a robotic, faceless assassin like the Waif, he sent her to the plays so her feelings of being a Stark would never disappear and hence never lose Arya but instead help her to become less impulsive and more calculated. He knows Arya, he knew her from the day he met her and aided her on this particular journey. The small smile at the end from him said it all, "My job is done"

One thing I never realized up until now is how/why the actress with the traveling troupe of actors has a nice house in the quiet side of town, rather than living in a wagon or maybe getting a room at a decent inn. Her having a house, that she's clearly at home at, makes no sense.
@Hochspitz Жыл бұрын
Nothing makes any sense anymore. GoT now just revolves around shock and awe, the spectacular and subverting expectations. Character arcs no longer matter. The plot lines no longer matter. Even the magic which was meant to slowly grow as the story progressed, no longer matters except for when it aids the spectacular.
@slipknot95maggot Жыл бұрын
@@Hochspitz You and I need to have a talk about punctuation and sentence structure Then we can get to your b-hurt media takes 'Cuz "The magic only matters when they need it" can't also be said about the early seasons XDDDD

......in the quiet side of town..........? Arya jumped out the window and landed in a marketplace. tf are you talking about.....? As far as I can tell that was literally in the city's commerce center xDDD As for her having a house, it's a fair question that I'm happy to entertain, as soon as we also talk about why some of these other broke sons'a also have houses.....? You could ask that very same question about a number of people we've seen in this show. How did that father and daughter the Hound and Arya met manage to stay alive in the middle of nowhere for so long when the father openly talks about how he can't get all the work done and is under constant threat of home invasion.....? Why was the orphanage in King's Landing so large and extravagant with such high ceilings, as was shown to us when Margaery went in it ie it was that way BEFORE she started helping and back when Joffrey was running cray-cray and the entire city was starving and had JUST fended off an invasion......? And, sorry, how exactly did Varys manage to rise from a near-fatally wounded child to literally one of the highest positions in the land...? Surely he should have starved on the streets at some point, likely quite quickly, like, ooh, say, right around the time he was recovering from having a part of his body cut off, something which would require a lot of nutrients for your body to heal with no medical attention, nutrients which would be afforded to affluent people who could afford good food and not kids left on the street to d!e with serious physical trauma......? No....?
@slipknot95maggot Жыл бұрын
Ooh but it's okay when Varys does it because "the show was good then" and "but that dialogue tho" .........? As a person who was never as sucked into the show as some of you were, I can assure you, this show has NEVER made sense and has ALWAYS been full of the things you all complain about in the later seasons (like "plot armor" - cut back to Tyrion getting hit by a war hammer, stepped on several times, and then sleeping peacefully through a large scale battle XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD). NOTHING has changed except y'all willingness to cut the show slack. If you stop being so rose-y eyed about the early seasons you'll see nothing has changed. If you stop being so bitter about the later seasons, guess what, you'll see nothing has changed. Except the obvious lack of book material except even then the show always moved away from the books, they were editing story-lines from the start, so again, nothing new Yeh. You found an instance of something straining credulity regarding the societal structure Now go back to seasons 1-4 and find 27456 other instances of it. XDD it's a fiction, dawg. They're trying to tell a story. This show was never about making every single aspect perfectly economically sound XDDDDD That's - ..... that's nonsense dawg. Not trying to flame you, and I know you're just noticing something which is perfectly reasonable to notice, but the idea that GoT is somehow flawed for having an instance of sub-optimally logical economic happenstance..? I mean good lawd. Y- Yeh. Every single fiction ever written can be scrutinized to find some instance of a situation in which a character is afforded the ability to magically bridge an economic hurdle that would otherwise be present in real life. It makes no sense...? Because that's not the sense they're making. They're making sense out of the struggles of the human heart and whatnot, not the economic landscape XDDD Nobody cares about the housing status afforded to various professional avenues. This isn't a story about economics brah XDDD It's a story about people, gov. Focus on the people and it will start making sense again. Focus on the intricacies of inter-societal class status and literally almost no story ever told will make sense XDD Dawg even real life barely makes sense in that regard XDDDDDD Not to mention..... Dawg, for all we know she had rich parents and that's why she thought she could get away with such a fly-by-the-seat profession as a traveling actor in a harsh time in the first place. It makes no sense, especially when we have literally no idea why or how she found herself there, yea XDDD Nothing makes sense when you don't have all the data XDDDD Next you're gonna tell me the building of the pyramids of Egypt doesn't make sense either, yeh...? Sure, especially when you have no idea how it happened XDDDDD An entire species being presented with clear scientific data showing we are collapsing the web which keeps us alive on a rock floating in space, and then doing literally nothing about it, would you believe I don't think that makes much sense....? Yet here we are. My credulity doesn't affect reality
@slipknot95maggot Жыл бұрын
Lady Crane shouldn't be able to afford a house.....? Sooo why can the other actress afford to pay the Faceless men to off her....? Maybe being a traveling actor is a more lucrative profession in this culture than you're assuming.....? They sure seem to have a sizable audience even when they're doing the exact same show on a different day. Lady Crane gave that speech over Joffrey twice. If it was such a financially strained position as you seem to inherently posit, why did she give it to an equally large audience each time.....? It seems to be quite a popular show. And that city is full of broke people literally gambling on their own lives, why are we assuming housing is so expensive....? Are you sure there isn't affordable housing....? Especially, as we've now corrected for, in a market center ie likely NOT the most "quiet" part of town.......?

@slipknot95maggot Жыл бұрын
Just my take, but I feel like regarding Jamie a lot of people lose sight of the chronology of the events in the canon in sight of the chronology of the events as they are presented to us. He's presented to us as a bad guy when he pushes Bran at the start, then you find out about the kingslayer stuff so now he's never had honor or w/e, and _then_ WE learn about the truth of the kingslayer bit so now WE think something has changed. Nothing has changed. We learned about the past. The fact that we learned it now doesn't make it a reflection of his character now, it means we judged him too harshly previously for a specific situation which was deeper than we might have realized; the fact remains that him pushing Bran is a more recent expression of his will (combined with the situation in which he found himself obviously) than him killing the mad king (which we've also since learned was the result of Jamie being pushed over the edge more by being told to k!ll his father than by all the "burn them all" talk - to be clear I'm not saying he enjoyed being in the hall as the mad king burned people, but it was the threat against his own father that made him act, not the wildfire). People keep talking about him being on this redemption arc starting when we learned about the mad king stuff (/when he saved Brienne, w/e w/e), as if now he's doing the right thing and getting better. That's precisely not what's happening. We learned that he WAS on the wrong side and then got on "the right side" (kind of) when he k!lled the king, and THEN he pushed Bran to cover up his relationship with Cersei. He is NOT on a redemption arc. The whole point of his character (or, a large part of the central theme, I posit) is not "aah see, good guy all along" nor even "but see look, anybody can choose to be good"; the point of his character is to challenge us as the audience. He's just meant to show a human experience. He's meant to teach us not to judge flippantly. Judging him as "good now" defeats the whole point. STOP judging. Everybody keeps calling him "so complex" and then they sit around and wait for him to just flip on the white knight not a scratch on him "good guy mode". That's..... That's not complex...? That's the exact opposite of the thing y'all keep saying. He IS fairly complex. As evidenced by how many people keep wanting him to be something he's not He is NOT this "black knight evil dude on the _bad guy_ team who we all have to defeat to win the girl and score the kiss at the end", as some people led themselves to believe at the start You are all totally correct to comment on how he's "not what we once thought" ....None of that makes him "good" He just is As are we all

I understand it completely. But I think it’s more of what Brienne said where he could be fighting for his blood rather than a lifeless castle. Yes, it holds a lot of meaning and memories, but fighting for family would be seen as more honorable. I think the Blackfish had options where Jon and Sansa don’t because she said “if we don’t take back the North, we’ll never be safe.” Maybe if the Tully’s helped the Starks take the North back, they could help return the favor. But again, I understand why the Blackfish didn’t want to move when he was prepared to battle for years. Once the castle was breached, I do wish he would’ve gone with Brienne. His name could’ve potentially helped gather northern troops to Jon and Sansa’s cause. All in all, it’s complicated.

Re Arya wanting the hound gone is a no, remember the faceless god asking her questions,and she said,she hated the hound,and was glad he was unalive,he wacked her and said she was lying.thays why she didn't finish him off. She was hoping someone would rescue him. But its al unspoken friendship love towards eachother. We know howbthey feel and tvey do too. They dont need ro say it. Your reaction to the hound being alive was exactly the same as mine 😊

The guy that the hound says was shot at dying is in a long going TV show in England called EastEnders. More useless info from me😂😂. Was laughing so much when I saw him on GOT. A major famous guest is in season 7 ep 1. Dont think you've got that far yet. Omg god,I'm dying to see your reaction to the final episode of season 7. It's INSANE in the membrane 🤪. Hurry up man, im addicted to watching this with you, binge watched your entire thing to now in less than ila week. Yeah I'm sad. But sofa bound alot, so keeps me out of mischief.😂😂

I find it so weird how everyone calls that girl "The Waif", even though that's never mentioned anywhere in the show, and it's pretty clear that this isn't supposed to be the Waif character from the books.

Show Hound is sooooo much more redeemable than book Hound. Honestly having read the books it makes me feel vile hearing y'all speak his praises, but then I have to remind myself that I felt the same way before reading 😂

When they said that the hound wouldn't kill a kid (meaning Arya) my first thought was what about the butcher's boy? The Hound ran him down with his horse!! How quickly they forget LOL.

Long hair guys WDYM "theres no rhyme and reason" when reffering to Beric Dondarion,they clearly serve Lord of Light and they are good people...whats without rhyme or reason thre? lord of light prophecy speaks of great Winter and darkness coming from north,thats why melisandre was helping stannis thats why beric is doing good deeds and can come back from dead etc...everything in htis show happens for a reason!

Did you really say Tommen is worse than Joffrey for banning trial by combat??? For banning a completely corrupt and evil method of justice. For stopping the piece of shit Cersei from cheaping out on her trial by using the mountain? Honestly I’m stunned by you guys, I never expected this
