That’s how I feel about HD600 vs HD660S2. 600 is more enjoyable for the background music , while 660S2 brings out more details that it makes you be aware of other layers in the music.

Haha, still impressed with how accurate you are at describing headphone tonality, staging, detail presentation, everything, even though your personal preferences are the opposite of mine on almost every count: I'd have absolutely stuck with the HEKv1 since critical-listening sessions are what I see as worth spending the big bucks for (Kilobuck headphones for background listening?? Blasphemy!), and in critical-listening I absolutely need the headphones to monopolize the hell out of my attention and not let my mind wander at all.

thank you for the comparison! instant follow. I am also looking for the most distant soundstage that is very deep and layered. Dont care for width tho. Also i dont care for details, exciting punchy tuning and treble glare. Most important for me is a feelling like sitting in a large concert hall in the last row. I dont listen to vocals but mostly large orchestra classical music and sometimes edm. Which planar under 1.500$ would you recommend?
@nyvoreviews544311 ай бұрын
None of them really do that in that price range. The ones that come to mind are Voce, Susvara but they both require extremely expensive chains. Hd800 is a cheaper alternative but also requires an expensive chain. So unfortunately you want get what you are looking for. You and I have the same issue, Our preference type is the most expensive. Shang sr does it in a way that is different. I think I mentioned it in a video. It’s not like being in a concert hall, but it is cool in a different way. Hi NyVo, I’m wondering what your opinion is on lossless vs lossy files? Do you personally find flac files to have a noticeable improvement when listening on higher end gear?
@nyvoreviews544310 ай бұрын
Usually yes. It’s generally a fairly subtle difference…however, one of the bigger differences is the mastering of whichever file you are listening to. For example a dsd file and a flac file and a lossy file could all be the same album but from 3 different masters and therefore they can sound different for more than one reason. The difference that I notice between the formats is that I just feel more at ease when it is lossless. It’s easier for me to feel the difference than it is to hear it… I don’t know how to explain this, but maybe someday this brief explanation will make sense to you. Lossy can make me slightly irritable.

interesting comparison, can you make a video describing the types of soundstage a bit better? i really enjoy soundstage so im curious about different types especially on hifiman models., also, is the arya v1 the best soundstaging hifiman? or is he1000 stealth/se or susvara better than arya v1? do you think buying refurbished hifiman products makes sense or are those mostly openbox that got sent back or have bad quality/sound problems? im really struggling making a decision between xs/nano/organic/aryav1 and he1000 stealth(refurbished) esp since i dont have dac/amp yet:/ also interesting you said you prefer xs bass over nano, since some reviews said the nano bass is very powerful and they took away some soundstage., is the xs and nano soundstage the same or are there quality/different types of soundstage between the 2?
@nyvoreviews5443 Жыл бұрын
Susvara is the best soundstaging Hifiman but you need a pretty insane chain to make that happen. It’s an incredible headphone. If you underpower it, it will sound just a little bit better than a Koss. The stage type depends on your chain but it can be very wide left to right. Or kind of globe shaped, I did explain this in my Susvara video. Arya v1 I also explained in a shootout video. It wasn’t until I had it on hsa1b ribbon output that the stage got Huuuge. On everything else the stage was kinda just like a normal. The stage type is wide left to right and how wide just greatly depends on your chain. On my 430ha it was not very big. He1000se I only heard on ef600 which I didn’t not like but I can imagine this on staging very large, however it lacked too much bass, so unless you hate bass I would avoid this headphone. He1000 is like an oval shape and not very large. He1000v2 stage shape is awkward and does not smoothly transition in distance as it goes around your head, I can only tolerate them on some tube amps.

@@nyvoreviews5443he’s probably referring to your comment on the video about the young man being kicked out at 18 and you said you didn’t see what the big deal was. That’s where I came from and the comments are now locked due to reaching the threshold so I also decided to come here to provide some insight because you seem like a nice and reasonable person just genuinely confused. What makes it a problem is a parent is supposed to teach their kids how to survive and provide for themselves. It’s really counterproductive to just kick a kid out the day they turn 18 without making sure they have the proper knowledge and understanding on how to get started at their own life. It’s like me giving a 5 year old a bunch of raw ingredients and telling them to make their own thanksgiving dinner. I can’t expect the kid to know how to cook without showing him/her how to do so. My father used to do a similar thing where, at times, he would expect me to know how to do things just because I’m his son and he knows how and completely ignoring that he never taught me how. When he taught me? I’d learn quick and a lot of times end up performing the techniques better than he could but without learning how can any adult expect a child to do something they’ve never done? As for the guy commenting about how the current times makes it even harder: do you know how hard it is to even get a job without a phone number, a stable address and access to records like your SSN (not just knowing it but actually having your physical card), birth certificate etc.? It’s not impossible but it’s not as easy as wake up and have a job before sundown simple. Parents should be teaching their kids these skills before expecting them to make it out on their own. It’s really that simple. Just like you wouldn’t serve someone soup without a spoon you shouldn’t take your child to another state and leave them while expecting them to make it on their own on their 18th birthday before they even graduate high school. At the VERY LEAST he should have been able to finish school and have the following summer to get a job and iron out all of the other components he’d need to have in stone before setting out on the world on his own. Hope this helps…

@S.G54321 Жыл бұрын
Hell no! Maybe $50 better or $100 better at max? What a lot of reviewers miss is source synergy. They use brighter leaning sources which simply doesn't pair well with the Ananda Nano. Yes the Arya Organic may have a slightly lusher tuning, a touch more soundstage. But pair the Ananda Nano with some tubes, or a tube hybrid amp, or a tube pre amp into a great solid state amp. It makes a huge world of difference. You gain more soundstage, the low end kicks hard and has amazing extension into the low end. Mids gain some warmth and feel more life like. Treble smoothens and becomes etheral. It's literally very similar to a Sennheiser HD800/800s. Would you rather listen to a HD800 on a solid state or nice tubes? I'd pick tubes all day long. The Ananda Nano just needs a warm source and it's a world of difference. People saying the Ananda Nano lacks low end and it's to bright... I have no idea what they're on about. The HD800s, Beyer DT1990, Focal Clear OG even the Arya to my ear have sharper peaks that are more bothersome to me. So it's tricky to choose which is best for you. But ultimate judge is your ears. I first bought the Arya Organic and really really like them. But then had the Ananda Nano. At first I did feel the were bright. But not as bright as a HD800 or DT1990. So I decided to try them with tubes. Yep, tubes is the way to go with Ananda Nano. Planar endgame
