So for gaming you would suggest: 1st pick and best pick for gaming is the DT990 with 600Ohm followed up by the 2nd pick for the Tygr300r did I get that correct? If we go for the DT990, then go for the 600 Ohm one, not the 250 - right? Either way, we wouldn’t go wrong with either of them (Tygr300r or DT990 600Ohm) ? How do you compare the sound characteristics of Senn HD490 Pro to DT 1990 Pro and 900 Pro X?
@nyvoreviews5443Ай бұрын
@@MoonshineBeforeSunshine haven’t tried 490. Dt1990 and 900 pro x are quite a bit different. Dt1990 is mainly for hearing flaws so it’s not as good for listening to music casually, it has a treble peak that can be a bit too much.. 900 pro x is a very tame sound, almost boring, mostly a safe tuning, not very technical, but also very comfortable.

@@nyvoreviews5443Thanks for the response. I wonder if the DT 900 Pro X has the sound clarity of DT 990 Pro and 1990 Pro? My HE400SE (V2 stealth) mods: 1) Ananda styled DIY Headset Headband 90mm-105mm from AliExpress, price $36 (delivered). I used the HiFiman OEM screws to simply replace the headband. The metal brackets for the cups need to be opened slightly to accommodate the HE400SE cup size. 2) PTFE tape (300 degree HT tape), 0.13mm, 50mm, price for 10M was $6.50 from AliExpress. I cut the tape to width and length using a single piece on the INSIDE magnets...the cover the opening slots 2 & 3 only, as positioned/counted from the rear on each side. Obviously, this mod requires the ear cups to be removed in order to expose the driver. Smooths out the response curve, slightly reduces the brightness without sacrificing bass (low-mid). 3) 100x33cm Aluminum Racing Car Bumper Grille Grill Mesh (gloss black Hexagon 6x6mm) cut to dimension to replace the grill, price $15.50 (delivered) from AliExpress. 4) Indoor mosquito net, grey, 120x80cm for $12.50 (delivered) on AliExpress. Cut to the dimension of each grill...slightly smaller than the grill diameter. The OEM grill holders (plastic rings) work with this mod. 5) Hot glue gun was used to reposition and secure wires to the inside rim of each can. I used a permanent black marker and template to draw out the R and L on each net, before attaching to the inside of each grill. I used UHT spray adhesive on the inside of each grill to attach the mosquito netting to the inside grill. Using a disposable cloth to lay down the grill on its outside face before spraying the adhesive...such that grills outside face is protected from the spray and the adhesive is only on the side facing the mosquito netting. Make sure that the R and L are oriented properly before laying them down on the adhesive side of the grill. The total costs of accessories/supplies totaled ~$75...but I bought extra QTY for other purposes. You could easily do all of these mods for under $50. Basically, new headphones with these mods can be had on a budget of about $150, in total. After these mods, the headphones certainly look MUCH more expensive. They feel better, fit better, sound better.

Overall for daily listening the KPH40's are still my favorite.... to my ear the most balanced. But I will say, more than any of these, Yaxi pads make teh large diff on the 40s - slightly more foam than stock and it pulls the driver further off the ear which increased the stage A LOT and improves lets the bass breathe.
