Flattening her shots will be hard with that western grip she uses on her forehand. I personally think she has enough power, but just needs to hit sharper angles and add more slice. Swiatek for instance has beaten Sabalenka before without flattening her shots.

Aryna's power and aggressive baseline play can be overwhelming, so Zheng’s adjustments make sense. Cutting or slicing the ball when almost out of reach can help neutralize Aryna’s pace and potentially disrupt her rhythm, as it forces her to adjust to a lower, slower ball. Stepping in on the second serve also applies pressure, limiting Aryna's ability to dictate points off her serve, especially since her second serve can occasionally be a bit vulnerable. Navarro and Muchová are both great examples of players who use this approach effectively, combining variety and positioning to counteract heavy hitters.
@vi2i1Ай бұрын
In my opinion Qin strategy should stay away from competing heavy topspin with Saba. Instead of using a quick angle flat shot even a soft one can confuse Saba running around. Qin can win more points once Saba loses her distance rhythm. That's why Paolini always beats her big and strong opponents.

Muchova has been successful against Sabalenka playing her natural game. She hasn't adapted specifically for her. Also, she has only won one title. Even allowing for the time spent injured, this isn't good at her age of 28. Whereas Zheng, who plays like the majority of players that have beaten Sabalenka, such as Rybakina, Anisimova and Gauff, has already won 3 titles aged 22. Zheng could add more variety to her game, but this is part of her natural development just as the more emotional and technical stability and variation that has improved Sabalenka's game leading to 3 slams in '23 and '24 has been a natural development based upon her recognition that she needed to make changes.
