Foreign buyers will. Be sure of that. Who buys all the returned iou's? At what rate-yield? Causing what lvl of inflation-hyper? The xspurts got it all figured. Apparently, youll are just gunna "inflate the debt away". HUNDREDS OF TRILLIONS i might add. Me thinks youll been reading the wrong history books.

Goldbacks seem like a gimmick to me… more about the name and less about the metal.

Yeah, theyre stupid AF. Good luck using a Nevada goldback in London or Paris.

The federal debt is spiraling out of control but the federal debt to GDP keeps being revised down. Figure that one out. How can it just stay at 122% and never change.
@Motoicon2 күн бұрын
Tariffs sound good but when we relied only on them to fund the Fed gov, the cost was only 2% of GDP before 1913. Today, the Fed gov costs over 20% of GDP. the consumer will ultimately pay the cost of much higher goods.

Would like to get gold backs but the premium ain't good.
@S.BrosPodcast2 күн бұрын
I’m torn on the premium part. I watched a video where someone articulated his point of view in a way that made the premium something he ignores. He looks at it as a straight swap for a dollar that isn’t falling but has even gone up in the last 8 months. It’s the idea of using it for barter instead of as an investment/store of value. Even though they kind of are. Not saying I can completely ignore premium, but his POV makes sense.

Riddle me this, who are we borrowing money from since a government can print its own money? What assets do they hold. Can anyone answer this? Also who are we paying back?
@442512 күн бұрын
We’re borrowing money from our grandchildren and their children’s children. When this charade of currency abuses flys apart it’s going to make 1929 look like Christmas morning.
