at 17:12, why wasn’t the reading from the eye piece graticule changed from mm to micrometers before being multiplied by 2.5 micrometer ?

because each 1 mm in the eyepiece graticule represented 2.5 micrometer, that's why since there was 44 mm she multiplied it by 2.5 giving her 110 micrometers as the actual length.
