I like my core bands as much as anyone, but they're trendy and contemporary punk honestly. But it is a downcast statement to lump As I Lay into an inferior group. But my greater point is that most of these "live" albums are either recorded "live" in the studio (KISS Alive!, TON's Origin) or are HEAVILY touched up after the fact in the studio. Listening to this audio, literally EVERYTHING is on point, from the guitars to the backing vocals. There's just no way the raw performance sounds this perfect, and I would love to know just what percentage of that is the case.
