I'm glad I found you. My husband has finally committed to retiring this summer as he just hit 75. I hope we can both enjoy this transition. I appreciate your POV!

Ron, I'll be 80 in two and a half months. You hit the hail on the head, I now have poor balance, takes me a long time to descend the stairs, and I have to watch my feet. I expressed my desire to buy a Tab trailer a couple of years ago. My wife pointed out to me we could stay in some five star hotels for what we would be paying for that, and probably wouldn't own it to long either. As badly as I hated to admit it, she was right. I remember my Pop up StarCraft days. Don't think I'm up to that either.

+@tiredlawdog I just folded mine up. It used to take me about 30 minutes to do. Now it is longer. I won’t miss it when it sells.

I've been begrudgingly trying to accept retirement for the last two and a half years. But you are right, there are things that you just cannot do anymore. darn it!

Yup being retired or getting older means you have to accept grudgingly there are things you cant do anymore . And things you can still do happen at a slower pace - which is ok since deadlines are more lax . Personally I have noticed that my stamina is reduced . This summer I have been working part-time at a local airport as a light aircraft mechanic , and I find after 3 days of 8-10 hours Iam dead tired needing a sleep of at least 12 hours to recover .

I can identify. If there were a 3 day work week, I might not have retired. My teaching load is 2 days a week for an hour each. The pay isn’t much, but it suits me these days.

I had to laugh at the start of this video, you could have been talking about me! My balance has never been very good so I know my limitations. I sometimes get angry when I realise I can no long do thing that were so easy, what seems like only a short time ago then I realise it’s been years. Time just goes by so much fast I was saying to someone when they told me they were buying Christmas presents that last Christmas was only a short time ago! Oh well that’s life!

I have arthritis in my hands. No pain (worth talking about), but it is frustrating to not have the fine motor skills. Then I have to remind myself that I am way better off than many others. And you’re right. Christmas is coming sooner isn’t it?
