@Aid_n Exactly, teens look so much younger than they used to, that being said, it’s still easier to tell high schoolers apart by age based on how they look, since adolescence usually go through puberty properly in high school, some go through proper puberty in middle school, but for the most part, middle schoolers look like little kids all throughout middle school, in high school, people can differentiate between freshmen and seniors

Personally I'd disagree. Yes are there depressed high schoolers now? Of course, but were there depressed high schoolers then too? Of course. As a high schooler, I don't think the comparison is a good one. The most infamous school shooting literally happened in the 1990s. I'm just saying as a teenager, I still have so much fun, and have so much energy with others around me. I just don't think it's a good idea to get stuck in, "the old days were better" mentality. Because the 80s, 90s, '00, 10s and current times all have their fair share of problems.

@@enmanuel9795 Its crazy to think how quickly interpersonal relationships has changed and how future generations in some countries will never experience socialization without phones and cameras and media and all this. I remember going to my friends house to play halo 2 on the xbox walking alone just looking at the sky. I remember how phone calls were rare, and if we needed to have an important conversation, we had no choice but to do it in person, you had to show your face. It wasn't that things were more connected, the internet allows you to understand and observe and connect with lots of people, way more, but that mas connection is the issue arguably. People so focused on the mass they forget the individual. They forget the life in one for the movement of the crowd, depersonalization, hiding behind a screen and saying things you wouldn't normally for so long. Imagine that from when your a kid, it matters. It's not a disconnect people have, its a lack of value. Why care about a person or having a real friend when I can make 20 more in an hour??? The perceived incentive to have real friends is slipping in some ways. Or to form real relationships. the connections are vast, but they lack any depth or true meaning. I just hope it doesn't become more common because thats scary.

No smartphones and 24/7 social media apps. Teens today are too hyper aware of what's going on in the world, and you are constantly comparing yourself to social media influencers. 90s teens didn't have cell phones, and social media didn't exist. We interacted with our friends face to face in person and went out and did stuff with our friends. That real human connection is what humans need to be a little bit happier in life because humans are social creatures. When we isolate ourselves, we feel lonely and sad. It is possible for today's teens to turn the tide and make more efforts to put down the phones and interact face to face. Make a bigger effort to plan to go out and do stuff with your friends, whether it is just hanging out at your friends house or going to the movies or the mall.

@@SliceySlicerheir appearances aren't worn down, they look more mature for their age (in terms of modern teens) because they look they're age. Prior to cell phones and modern technology most of the time teenagers were outside doing dumb shit most of their day-to-day schedule of recreation involved some amount of basic physical labor. My brother used to look a baby through most of our high school years so far but he randomly started working out and now he looks a lot like the kids in those videos. Basically they look that way because they are healthy and exercising. Looking like a young child isn't exactly fantastic but it's not unhealthy and looking like that is not healthy either if anything it's more healthy because it means their bodies are developing into adulthood which as seniors they would soon be in fully.

So blessed to have been born in 89 & have lived my childhood/teenage years through the entire 90s-00s!! Absolute BEST YEARS OF MY ENTIRE LIFE that I am forever grateful for! There has NEVER & will NEVR be another time like the 90s-00s! This absoute dumpster fire of a world & time we are living in today is just so damn depressing & draining! I always think of & miss the days being 15, taking my friends mom's car & the mom telling us "If the cops catch y'all's asses I'm telling them y'all stole my car since y'all wanna always bug me to drive it on weekends! If y'all get caught I'm lying on y'all's asses"! 🤣🤣 Just riding around the city so carefree & full of life & love! We didn't have a care in the world! We literally just lived in the moment, skipping school for a week at a time just to take random spur of the moment trips to Mississippi & Texas & Florida AT 15! No cellphones, no selfies, no social media! Just US as friends with out throw away poloroid cameras taking random ass photos then going to Walmart at 3am to get the film! Making tons of random scrapbooks about of lives & friendships with all the randoms we would meet! I literally get depressed at times just thinking about how simple & Happy the world use to be VS now! Man, I sure do in hate no it for anyone who wasn't able to experience from 89-2009 as a kid/teen! You will NEVER know how incredible the world was or how amazing it felt to be just... ALIVE during those times! People actually gave a shite & cared about others! Sadly, that's all died as soon as 2010 hit!
