The left hand path represents an extreme polarity of spirituality.. And the true goal of enlightenment is not to be captured in extremities (good or bad). The goal is to rise above the polarities and gain an upper view. To become the top of the triangle and see everything from the Middle Path. That's true transcendence. We become the so called good and bad and transcend both in order to have that higher sense of vision. (becoming the Observer) "Before enlightenment, chop wood and carry water, after enlightenment, chop wood and carry water." The only thing that happens after reaching a certain degree of enlightenment is the fact that one becomes more PRESENT. There's no past, no future...only now. Because of this state of presence, healing abilities can start to appear and time seems to "freeze", so our physical appearance can look like 20 years younger. We stop growing old at the same pace we used to.

Well it’s extreme if you are on the other side of the spectrum! In my opinion if you are already balanced and do not discriminate then it’s not so extreme anyway! It’s about not accepting the duality of things that society or conditioning made us think . That’s why India as a country is not about being polished or clean. It’s multi dimensional . It not linear. I think this concept will take some time for west to digest .

it s an experience at the beginning for the self liberation at a certain time that we find in the punk, psychedelic movement or rebell movement or occutilts for example, but after the aim is to serve the egoistic realization by all esoteric methods ... what about the purity of soul and self appartenance?opposed to the idea of loving more others than our ego. its nowadays. ias i used drugs and spiritual research and sex and etc...i understand from the inside... now i ve changed i m happier because i knew i was in the wrong way

I believe this is an expression of total and complete acceptance. It is a truly beautiful practice, poetic by nature. In this place, no one or no thing is left behind. I have experienced this place in meditation and, for the first time, felt complete acceptance, peace. All of my 'imperfections' were brought to light in the most loving way, I needed to change nothing about them. I was perfect as I was, a beautiful disgrace. I believe we will all understand and feel this unconditional love together soon 🙏🏾

This is really well put together. I'm deeply intended in Aghor and the Aghori. I've had talks with Nath, Naga and Aghori Bab's, the Aghori have been the most level Headed by far. When I began on a path if Faith in a,Hindu framework I had many chats with a Nath who I ended up learning was full of himself, later on I got talking to a few Aghori and was impressed deeply.

The Aghori play in bands and can be found on the fringes of society in the west, but they are never "Satanists". There are so few it's almost impossible to find one in the west, but they are the most real of humanity. They don't eat literal poop or human flesh in the west, but they do spiritually, and many of the other things Aghori do, many times literally. The different schools and sects of religions are a let down because Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma are the only reality, and cannot be separated from the triune or u get only a sect of a religious school, which change the names and leave one of the triune out of the story by ignoring it or giving a lesser significance, leaving the leaders of the sect a fake, full of themselves and his/her followers in a state of confused subjugation within a dream state.

Kashmir shivaism is a tantric path which is really near to aghori path. The head guru abhinavagupta was in the path of kapilakas which was a predecessor of the aghori path but then turned it into a householder religion. I suggest you to read some books of kashmir shivaism first. For example: tantraloka, vijnana bhairava or shiva sutras. I can also suggest abhinavagupta´s interpretation of the bhagavad gita. I don't believe in religion but this is something that makes the most sense to me I feel. I've had a gnarly life dealing with addiction and homelessness as well as being the only one out of my friends and family still alive and I'm still in my 20's. I've dealt with the most painful medical ailments as well as losing all the friends who wouldn't hang out with me no longer because of not wanting to be seen with an addict despite the fact that I do not steal and am more honest and transparent than majority of people in general. I have gotten a partial sense Or feeling of enlightenment or peace through enduring such agony and do actually think there is something here. It has been so constant that I don't feel comfortable around positivity or having good things happen to me which is actually liberating because bad things happen to us all. I would say that I am abnormally genuinely good in regards to others. I always thought good and bad where man made when it's all a matter of opinion but the universe has no opinion, it just is. If you can approach everything as just being you can't be hurt as easily. So much more that I don't care to type out about this. It's crazy how much this speaks to me.

That's a really amazing video and content, congrats from Brazil. I study theater and this remembered what some books says about the origin of ocidental theater, which may be in the Dionysius cult in the ancient Greece. Those rituals were partly like of the Aghori people: they drank too much wine until fall into unconsciousness, they sacrificed animals like the bull (Dionysius representation), they walked naked during the party and had a lot of sex in big orgies. In fact, this remember some others cults in ancient Greece, like Priapus cult, which appears in texts like Satiricon, of Petronius, wrote in the early roman empire, and it's considered a controversial material because of it's content, which involves a lot of homoerotic sex, robbery, alcoholism and so on. Anyway, it's curious that we can find a lot of relations between cultures across the world. The Aghori people and it's philosophy remember us all that death come to everyone and nobody can scape from this reality, no matter how we try to supress this with the "comforts" of the supposed civilization.

We are all immortal beings and for a very short period of time we are realesed from the burden of immortality and experience the limited, like the beautiful sight and perfume of a flower. If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now It's just a spring clean for the May Queen Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run And there's still time to change the road you're on And it makes me wonder Oh, whoa Your head is humming and it won't go In case you don't know The piper's calling you to join him Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow? And did you know Your stairway lies on the whispering wind? And as we wind on down the road Our shadows taller than our soul There walks a lady we all know Who shines white light and wants to show How everything still turns to gold And if you listen very hard The tune will come to you at last When all are one and one is all, yeah To be a rock and not to roll And she's buying a stairway to heaven LED ZEPPELIN

So going with the idea of mirroring or opposites of the right hand path, pollution instead of purity and so forth, wouldn't it be "desensitization" instead of "detachment"? Or are they meant to be one and the same? When fully "detached" to the point of ascendency on the right hand path is one supposed to feel nothing or feel everything all at once? Thus the same query remains for the left path? Are you supposed to keep composure or react extremely? All theological philosophies raise more questions in my mind as I am inquisitive by nature.

In Sanskrit, VAM means many things depending on the context, Vam can mean "to vomit" It is also the beeja for Varuna, the Lord of the Watrs, or oceans, a vital yet unstable element, with a reference to t he waters of the womb. As a participle, "one who has vomitted or spat out" that which is only a burden. CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING - BECUSE VAMPANTHI CANNOT E SIMPLIFIED INTO LEFT HAND PATH. Vam (वम्):-[class] 1. [Parasmaipada] ([Dhātupāṭha xx, 19]) vamati ([Vedic or Veda] also vamiti [imperfect tense] avamat or avamīt; [perfect tense] vavāma vemuḥ, [Mahābhārata] etc.; vavamuḥ, [Pāṇini 6-4, 126]; 2. sg. vemitha or vavamitha, [ib.; Siddhānta-kaumudī]; 3. sg. uvāma, [Śatapatha-brāhmaṇa]; [Aorist] avān, [Śāṅkhāyana-brāhmaṇa]; [future] vamitā, vamiṣyati [grammar]; [infinitive mood] vamitum, [ib.]; [indeclinable participle] vamitvā, [Manu-smṛti iv, 121]; vāntvā, [Vopadeva]) to reject id est. repent (a word), [Ṛg-veda x, 108, 8] :-[Passive voice] vamyate ([Aorist] avāmi [grammar]), to be vomited etc.:-[Causal] vāmayati, vamayati (cf. [Dhātupāṭha xix, 68]; [Aorist] avīvamat [grammar]), So the Aghor and Vampanth as an aglutinated concept is refreenced in the world's oldest text, the Rig Veda.

@@ankitk5530 Very interesting! They are living metaphors. There is a part of me that is very jealous of cultures that still have this vibrant mythology intertwined with their daily life, here in America people living like this are just 'crazy'. They don't have the same symbolic value and are instead written off. It's almost like the goal here is to stop being the dreamer and start being a figure in someone else's dream. Ego death through subjugation of the ego to symbolic representation. I like the English word 'realize' a lot because it means both to comprehend and to make real, and I feel like the Aghori do both in this way. I appreciate the comment, very helpful.

All spiritual practices or thoughts I believe to likely be merely digging within to depths that are all different and personal to each person and from each person's life. And giving yourself over completely to belief and feeling that what you are perceiving is the highest truth. No matter how it's viewed our search and our dwelling within this place and this path results in some of the most miraculous displays of strength and power that can be possible from a human being. By belief we each can do anything we believe. We can be our worst enemy in so many ways. And our greatest saviour in just as many.

Aghori is very similar to Sabbateanism coined by Shabbetai Zevi. In turn, the modern tenets of “Satanism” loosely apply these concepts as well. In some circles, I guarantee they apply it wholly. As a Perennialist myself; I can’t get behind this philosophy. Because what does their worst “sexual gratification” look like, who does it affect and how does it affect them? Who are the people they are cannibalizing? Does “God” want one to be obscene and grotesque on this three dimensional plain? Some say the “Giants” of the Bible are the product of the “egregoroi” or the “Watchers.” The etymological similarity between “Aghori” and “egregoroi” can’t be unobserved. In turn, I don’t see this path as a viable one for those who represent that greater cosmic purpose. I don’t see what “good” might come from such practices in the macro perspective. Especially when people must suffer for the gratification of another in the micro perspective. I enjoyed listening with an open mind, but I stand firmly against these practices.
@TheQuinis

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of Sabbateanism, modern Satanism, linguistics, and now even Aghor. You're twisting small parts of these paths to try and fit your very unenlightened idea of a "Perennial" philosophy and appropriating concepts from within them without proper respect or education on what these religions and movements really believe and mean, and it's cultural Imperialism at its worst. If you can't understand the reasoning for their actions, then don't presume to pass moral judgement on them from your far-removed position, firmly within the religiocultural hegemony.

@@TheQuinis Ah the classic “it’s not my job” response. I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy in your comment. He was judging them based on the basis that they are doing grotesque things in the pursuit of enlightenment (to make it simple), you were judging him, instead of judging the people who are doing grotesque things in the pursuit of enlightenment, BECAUSE he was judging them! You’ve spoken from a stance of moral superiority by claiming that he should not judge because he in some sense represents western imperialism, and in doing so you are judging him on the basis that one should not judge another. Only a westerner can feel good about himself by telling another westerner not to judge someone on the basis of some kind of “imperialism.” Sure, acknowledging the difference in culture and thought is important, but by no means should it be inappropriate to question a different culture’s beliefs and practices. If you were to explain where his mistake lies in his comment I wouldn’t be so critical, but your comment seemed to have an unwarranted amount of angst.

@Silithid120

The philosophical framework for this left hand path is Wrong in my opinion. They don't claim, as the demon worshipper, that creation itself is wrong and should be fought against, altough their actions do very closely come to represent that mindset. But rather that existence in all its possibilities, including the evil and disgusting ones, and the good and clean should be embraced. (I come to doubt that they really despise or suffer through what they do, but rather enjoy it, but thats another point.) But that implies that they are not against existence itself, but what they perceive as the "tyranical rules that govern existence", which are represented on earth as the impositions of what society deems moral. The obvious problem with this is that the so called tyranical rules are not there, as they expressly state by their philosophy well articulated even in the video by saying "the joint efforts of society have led to morality as a normative concept". Morals in as much as we can conceptualize them, have not arisen as a societal consensus, only a small part of civilized world can claim to exist like that, but people have moral rules in the most remote villages and caves dwellings in the world since time immemorial. Morality is not an imposed rule, it is biological. Morality is not created by society, it is upheld by it. Morality is created from biology upward. It is a natural consequence of following the rules of existence. For example Aghoris they eat their own feces, or the flesh of the dead etc. That is not breaking "the tyranical rules of society" that is completely idiotic to think or say so. Not eating your own shit or the flesh of the dead is something that most animals avoid too, guess why? Because you get sick and die. Its not about it beeing taboo and disgusting, its that it is perilous to your existence and thus doing it is completely foolish and regardless of life. They also claim that in nature nothing is good or bad. Also not true. Animals have a primordial system or morals too. They protect their own and see it as good. They preserve their own existence intuitively, which they perceive as good and pain and death as bad and to be avoided. Some animal species are evolved enough to cry for their fallen members of society. So there is regret, passion, sex, courting, good and bad even in animal kingdom, because good and bad are present aspect of nature. Unless they refer to non-conscious beings. But then, the same enlightenment could be achieved by contemplating non-existence, and non-consciousness, without anything to do with eating your own feces or the dead. Trying to outwit God and suffering by embodying the opposite of good, will not produce much enlightenment in my opinion. You might understand some things that those who only live in the light will not. But you also won't experience the enlightenment and bliss by soiling your soul and body to the extreme. It shows you have no respect for creation by using your free will to be as negative as possible. When are you positive then? They say nothing matters, all is equal. Then why be disgusting and extreme in your actions, and why only extreme on the dark side of things? When do actions of light come into their lives, so that they know the opposite of their dark actions? Do they presume to act as an opposite to all that which is positive creation? They have that much wisdom? What about hubris to think you can act on behalf of the opposite of the whole of humanity? DO they presume to understand the whole other half of humanity without ever even having lived as it? A lot of presumtions. Also makes no philosophical sense, in my opinion. In conclusion it doesnt make a lot of sense whichever way you slice it. Prove me wrong.

Morality is biological? That’s bs. Look at nature, animals are eating animals alive. Even same species eat each other often. Look at prehistory, different humanoids fought against each other and slaughtered each other brutally. Look at past rulers and the atrocities army’s, kings, soldiers, citizens, common people have committed. It seems like you’re influenced by Mark Passio. Unfortunately, morality is ideological. Nothing else. Also, Aghoris don’t eat their feaces all the time, nor do they eat dead bodies all the time. It is only during certain rituals. Once in many years. I guess you have just seen this one video and have made up your mind without much context. I would advise you read some books on it to get a larger picture. A good one is the Aghora series by Robert Svabooda

@@sidhantsharma9961 Its true I havent seen much but for a few videos on the subject but I thought to express my opinion that their philosophy doesnt make sense to me. Thank for the recomendations, I might check out. But you still dont andress my other points. And yes it is even said in the video, that all our moral laws comes from biological natural laws. It doesnt matter that we fight against those laws. It doesnt make them any more or less real. It is a law to not hurt people, because hurting people leads to death, which is a biological imperative for us to avoid, etc. So it is with all laws. They stem first from basic biological needs of the physical universe. Well, they stem from a consciousness directing things toward life, and that is transcendent, but that transcendent aspiration does so in order to care with Love for the 3d body. Of course there are forces of destruction in the universe too, that is what you are refering to. The fact that evil exists doesnt make good non existant. And the implications of the actions of the Aghori is that they are partaking in something that is "dark/unclean" even to them, in order to encapsulate both the light and the dark, that itself implies they understand there is an inherent order and morality in their actions. But they spite it to an extreme in order to gain elightenment that way. So which is it, do they understand that their actions are unclean and do them anyway, but they suffer? Or they don't care bc nothing matters, in which case they dont suffer, in which case why be so extreme in the first place?

@@Silithid120 So, first you have to understand their objective. Their objective is to transcend duality and see the non-dual nature of beings. Where is good and bad in non-duality? This does not mean, that they’ll go around killing people. If you look at their lives, they live ethically. They don’t harm anyone, the dead bodies are bodies that are already in the cremation grounds, getting decayed, etc. Infact if you meet genuine aghoris, they posses more love than most people on the planet. How is that possible if they are acting unethically? To understand this, you have to be clear of 2 realities. 1. The apparent reality (duality) 2. The absolute reality (non-dual) The apparent is intrinsic to the absolute. Both exist simultaneously. Which means that you cannot negate either. Even though ultimately the absolute is all there is, but you can’t disregard the apparent. It’s like the hot-ness of a flame. The cool-ness of ice. You cannot quantify it, but it still exists. The path of Aghori is for a select few, for obvious reasons. We should live and let live as long as no one is getting harmed. When people say “it’s ethical to eat dead bodies”, that’s ideological. As the dead body is going in the ground anyway, and btw it’s not harmful for the person either. It’s not like the body is decayed. Rather, I would say, the meat farms are far more unethical. When it comes to eating our own puke, that could be disgusting for some, but again it’s unethical by ideology.

I agree with your conclusion but the point of a spiritual path is to disentangle your soul from earth. Nothing more and nothing else. Maybe an Aghori apprentice needs this path. It's not necessary for most people to be this extreme. Be egoless, keep away from lust and pleasure, no violence etc work for your soul to achieve this goal. I don't know exactly why Aghoris need their path. Perhaps they feel it's necessary to disentangle themselves very publicly and in a visual way from society. They're not wrong. You can't participate in society entirely when on a spiritual path anyway. They cut themselves completely and in a very straightforward and vulgar manner.

@@Silithid120 Again it's not about suffering i don't know why people fixate on that word that much. All living beings suffer. Of course they understand their actions are fucked up. That's why they perform it. If they didn't there wouldn't be much point int these rituals.

Detaching from everything in order to attach to the Divine Shakti. In Vedic astrology I was once told that my death would come from Tantra and ingesting poisons, indeed aghoris do die in seemingly horrid ways but it is worth it in the quest for Earthly liberation. Or is it? There is freedom here but perhaps it is the easier path to escape society rather than live within it and gain enlightenment through living in harmony with the hardships of the bureaucratic capitalist regime.

Absolutely. Its misunderstood. They are not bad or flesh hungry. They want to enhanse themselves in a particular way in a particular method. They dont harm anyone, and any aghoris do that they are not real aghoris they reside in the cremetarial grounds so they can harness one of the pranas from dead body, usually from a young person in age otherwise once the body is burnt that prana/enenrgy just dissolves/merges in the vast infinite. But becuase its not a practice that an average belief system does practice, its not a very common way so people just get afraid and givebthem a LABEL that they are this or that. Ive seen aghoris feed hungry animals and harmless to animals and humans. Jai kaal bhairav.🙏

Exactly. Defilers of their own soul and corrupters of divine truths such as oneness and acceptance of life. Evil wears some people like a puppet and provides them with any manner of comfortable logic by which to rationalise what it causes them to do.

Aah evangelicals in the room - lets kill or convert all the people who think differently from us. Killing marauding and plundering is definitely the path to God. Bunch of fools - Do you think God is so weak that evil can challenge him - good and evil are all created by God in this one big illusion we call life.
