I tried for over 20 years to fight a severe addiction to opiates. It wasn’t until I came back to the church that I was able to turn it over to god. Now instead of daily opiates I receive the Eucharist daily. 2 and 1/2 year drug free and no temptations.now that’s a miracle.

Aaaaaabsolutely relate...and I totally believe that until you face your story, which I personally was crying and screaming through my life, for help, and no one heard....but Jesus. And that "only One" and One and only, what not "just" ..."but"....it was EVERYTHING!!!!!! And unless we are honest with ourselves, we cannot be honest with others. Unless we have humility, we won't ever go deeper.SOOOO right on and love this. I am sharing this wide and far, with particular people in mind. Including myself.

Fear has a way of crippling us, it crippled me for many years even after I met Jesus. I was set free from that fear a few years ago. I can't pinpoint exactly when it happened. At the same time, I was set free from guilt. God has a way of meeting us where we are at. He loves us that much. God will meet us in that despair and pull us out if we let Him. This is something that was set on my heart about a week ago. How fear had really overcome my life and controlled the way I act and don't act. I've always had terrible social anxiety to the point were it ruined my life, I don't feel free or happy. I remember always praying to God asking him to give me strength and to remove my anxiety but I've never felt it go away. Please I'm scared god, I have so much unease in me in everything I do. I really do believe in God but everytime I tell myself, God is with me I just still feel this overwhelming anxiety.

We all have fears somehow...I admit that I have some esp when I feel sick and feel alone. My only way to fight this fear is praying and knowing that God will not going to abandon me, even tho I don't feel Him physically presents I'm sure He is above there watching me! Do you think that if someone doesn't know God or is doubtful of Him that they could be considered among the worst of sinners because the fist commandment tells us to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind. And this commandment is considered the greatest. If it is the greatest of all commandments and if someone is doubtful or unknowing of the Lord then they may not love or know how to love the Lord, do you think that that could make them the "greatest" of all sinners?

To get to know real love, that is God. Freedom and sin has its price so we cant see God with our physical eyes but pray to be able to see Jesus with your spiritual eyes. He is a living God who goes through all the pain by your side. Only when you get to know Him life makes sense and is worth living. I survived rape at a young age from some who should have loved and protected me., However unlike you I was too afraid to enter religious life even though I heard the call- and still do. I have a 55 y/o friend who acts confident. He's about as confident as any atheist. He thinks the meaning of life is to survive, and pay the utility bills. You better do it or else you won't have a life. If you're anything like my friend and you'reafraid of going homeless you should fast from living indoors. Go without a home for a while.

Frequent confession, Eucharist, Holy water, blessed and exorcised salt, the Rosary and binding prayers to fight the demons of fear. I wonder if that self help book helped you any, because it seems to me that psychology has taken the place of traditional catholic tools to fight the demonic (because few believe in demons or live like Satan is real anymore). The Lord has given the Church tools for Christian battle. Use them. Fear can be bound.
