Exhaust. Fumes into building not the best or are they vented outside
@tawnabandicoot6567Ай бұрын
Most fire stations have some system to vent any exhaust fumes to the outside, usually via hoses that magnetically attach to the vehicle's exhaust pipe (at least that's what I've seen the most).

All these people moaning about the turn out time despite not knowing all of the details. This could have been a call to take over from a crew already on a large job where resources are already on scene. If we get a call at my station of such a type of job we go for a toilet stop before protracted jobs. Also, we get told to go on blue lights for a lot of non property/life threatening calls. Not all jobs are life and death. Moral of the point is, without all of the information, don’t come to such critical conclusions.

Although I won't expect Firefighters to RUN I feel there could be more urgency in the response, even the person talking to the group of people (possibly Cadets) had time to explain the call before crews arrived. I wouldn't like to think if I was stuck down a Well, potentially 30 odd miles away. Responding crews were nonchalantly strolling around collecting their kit and putting it on the appliance, it is my understanding this is a wholetime station so crews should have already been allocated their relevant appliances. Being aware that the engine exhausts are located close to the crew cabs, it was good to see the appliances pull out of each bay and not discharge toxic particles into an area occupied by others, however, I feel even this could have been delayed and Drivers could have waited until everyone was ready to proceed before starting their vehicles. Sorry but being an Awld Smoke Eater myself, it's difficult to watch this when through rose tinted glasses I would have been on the road within 60-90 seconds of the call being received.
