In other words, the West must learn the true meaning of peace and put it into practice. For about 500 years, the West knew only one thing: how to set the rest of the world on fire. Many fell for this trap, even today. Hopefully, Africans will also at last learn how not to fall into the trap of wars, conflicts, and violence. That is part of my wishes for 2025 and the future.
@rogerstarkey5390

With regard to the "African Trap" of wars and violence, I hope they realise that it's better to trade than fight. (Will there be a condition attached to BRICS/ BRi collaboration that there must be no military conflict between members?) I would say, as a "European" (Officially "Ex" European, if you get my drift).... That I hope Africa and others will "extend the olive branch" and allow individual European countries to join the growing collective.... *Under Strict Conditions* . . THAT is the fastest *AND* in my view safest route to both Global "Fair Trade" and Global disarmament, leading to peace. . It's time for the Human species to "Grow Up". I suspect there will be a need for the "Adults in the room" to request the "Global Teenager" (Guess who?) to "Put DOWN The Big Stick and Clean their room".... BUT, The more "adults" there are, the easier that will be. The "Teenager needs to KNOW that even if they USE that stick on a group, the other adults will hold THEM responsible. (If you get my meaning)

You hit the nail on the head. The main obstacle to world peace is the West's desire to remain dominant so it can continue to exploit the world's resources for its way of life. It uses fancy terms like "the rule-based international order," but what it really means is to force the non-Western world to accept the order it has imposed on the world through centuries of Western imperialistic expansion. This "Order" serves the interests of the West, but it does nothing to the rest of the world except continually to keep them in their impoverished and subservient state. It is time for the West to step aside as their selfish desire is ultimately unsustainable, recognize the value of each nation and culture, and work with them to better the peace and prosperity of our common destiny.

ASEAN should call out the current Philippine government for allowing the US Military to deploy its Medium Range Missile System (Typhon) at Laoag City Airport in Ilocos Region, Luzon PH. What is worse, the US government does not allow the vassal government of Ferdinand Marcos Jr, to make an inventory of the weapons and ammunitions that the US Military has stored at various locations in the Philippines. Since the Typhon has the capability to fire Intermediate Range Tactical Nuclear Missiles, who knows if this kind of missiles are already in the Philippines and such a deployment will certainly DESTABILIZE ASEAN. The Philippines is now a liability.

Singapore, the smartest country, as well as the most successful one in ASEAN, has been playing smart geopolitical balancing games between super powers for decades, for the maximum benefit of the country, without being squeezed and sacrificed as cannon fodder by the US or China. Filipino people always look at the success of Singapore with envy, and wonder why they can't replicate the best practices in their homeland and why their country is still deeply trapped in US colony mentality without a clear way out. Truth hurts. A smart leader plays smart geopolitical games and invites American and Chinese companies to build factories in order to generate jobs and increase revenue, while a clueless leader easily gets emotional like a kid, often is played by geopolitical players as chess pieces, invites foreign military to build bases in order to generate tensions and increase the risk of conflicts, and sacrifices the country's development and trade. Japan and S. Korea can sit down for negotiations and cooperations, despite of their long time disputes over the sovereignty of the Liancourt Rocks in the sea between them. That is political wisdom and diplomatic maturity on full display. Other countries such as China and the Philippines can definitely learn from S. Korea and Japan to manage their difference on South China Sea, Taiwan, MILF or whatever, and develop their relationship. Even the leaders of Vietnam and Malaysia are now much smarter, more resilient and pragmatic than P-Noy and BBM, embracing China's trade, infrastructure and investment with open arms, without sacrificing national sovereignty and dignity. Now the Philippines is the only ASEAN member that works as proxy for Uncle Sam, becomes Ukraine of Southeast Asia, and puts itself into current awkward position of either losing face or losing opportunities for economic development. Soon, even Laos and Cambodia will become richer than the Philippines. The Philippines will only compare better than Myanmar.

Great work in general, and as a Swiss National of 50+, I am glad to see a compatriot like Pascal. The U$ always encourages other countries to build peace. But in reality, there is never peace without the U.S. involved in these peaceful solutions and this also opens up the backdoors into other regions' future conflict and internal crises. This is why ASEAN must have a very clear strategy without letting the U$ get into our regions and our development as regional powers and peace among our ASEAN brothers and sister! Look at how the U.S. inserted the AUKUS strategy over the ASEAN one which overlaps and conflicts with our ASEAN central core development!!! They literally disrespected ASEAN as a whole!!!

That is a historical facts. It is true, China NEVER resort to colonizing others unlike the West to acquire wealth. China has gone from rags to richness out of sheer tenacity, hard work, diligence and intelligence in their pursuit of wealth. You can see that characteristics in S’pore, HK, Taiwan (all those Chinese dominated society) and the individual entrepreneurs as well. Most cities and Chinatown in their adopted country are centre of growth. The Chinatown presence in the city is not by accident but as the catalyst of expanding cities around the world. The cities actually build around the vibrant Chinatown. Admittedly,the ethnic Chinese spearhead the economy and are the engine of growth and prosperity in most SE. Asian countries.

Thank you for this presentation and it is evident people in SE Asia pretty much know what they are doing when they respond that there is no concerns with the present economic climate, that is the attitude that is required to reset the world onto a favorable path and this doom and gloom coming from the West, what this tells us, the people driving these Western economies to either get a education on sound business practices or get the hell out of the kitchen when it gets too hot. sadly we have been speaking about this for over 18 months to regain control of their countries from these usurpers who operate as governments, these wars they fight around the world only inflates their egos and offers not benefit to its citizenry. Thank you once again and agree with the guests views and the hope people get to listen to this and inspire themselves to demand better, Appreciated.

Neutrality is not immoral at all as opposed to what those Europeans said. What those Europeans said and did were truly immoral. Lets see what happened. When Soviet Union was disbanded with the interference of the Europeans and their US Master they declared, "NATO will not expand an inch Eastward." Then they expanded to those broken up Soviet Union countries. And the US and its European vassals regime changed the elected Ukraine President and putting in Ukrainian beggar Zelensky as President. Together with the intention of signing up Ukraine to be a NATO member, thus, started the Russia - Ukraine war. Those actions of the US and its NATO member vassal countries are truly immoral.

There is a lot of misunderstanding and misinformation about international law and the South China Sea. Below is something to help clear up the misconceptions perpetuated by the media and the Filipino government. I hope people will take time to read and digest it. This is important because the mistaken beliefs about international law and Philippines territory are significant obstacles to peaceful resolution of the SCS dispute. Thanks in advance: At the 2020 East Asia Summit, China’s foreign minister Wang Yi clearly reiterated: 1. China’s commitment to UNCLOS. 2. Denied claiming the entirety of waters or seabed within the U-shaped line. 3. Constrained China’s claims to only the maritime features within the U-shaped line and the maritime entitlements of those features under UNCLOS. As a matter of international law, this means that China position is aligned with the legal principle of mare liberum and the conventions laid out in UNCLOS. The claims are not excessive and identical to Taiwan’s claim; however, Western media’s narrative continues to distort and portray China’s claim to be excessive. The UNCLOS treaty is about the maritime entitlements (eg. territorial waters and EEZ) generated by undisputed sovereign territory. The UNCLOS treaty was never meant to be used to resolve disputes over territorial sovereignty. The South China Sea is a dispute about sovereignty. Just as one cannot build a house on a poor foundation, one cannot construct sovereignty claims from a treaty (UNCLOS) about maritime entitlements generated from disputed territory. The Philippines is abusing the rights and procedures under UNCLOS. This delegitimises the treaty and erodes the fundamental principles of international law. Sovereignty disputes were settled by military or economic might until the end of the 19th century. It is the hope, after 2 world wars, that diplomatic negotiations or international law will be used to settle territorial disputes. However, customary international law requires BOTH parties’ consent for arbitration over sovereignty disputes; a few sovereignty disputes have since been settled by arbitration (eg. Pedra Branca & Middle Rocks). Citing the 2016 UNCLOS arbitration opinion as the basis for Philippines’ territorial claims contravenes that fundamental legal principle of state consent for arbitration of sovereignty issues. Law-fare and distorted narratives in the court of public opinion will not get the Philippines anywhere; it will only harden China’s position and provoke more physical confrontation on the high seas. If proximity was the determining factor of sovereignty, then explain Phú Qúoc Island, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, The Falklands, Gibraltar, Greek Islands in the Eastern Mediterranean off the coast of Turkey, Puerto Rico, The US and British Virgin Islands, Pedra Branca … and many more examples. Despite sovereignty disputes over maritime features, the freedom of commercial navigation and overflight enjoyed by all states in the South China Sea under international law has never been threatened. The South China Sea currently contains some of the safest and freest sea lanes in the world, with more than 100,000 ships and one third of the world's maritime trade passing through every year. Over 60% of China's foreign trade and energy imports pass through the South China Sea; peace and stability in the South China Sea is as vital to China as any other country. China’s interests lie in ensuring that these sea lanes remain safe and accessible to all.  The UK & the US themselves blatantly defied the UN and ICJ rulings that affirm Mauritius’ sovereignty over Diego Garcia (which the UK took by force) for many years; they only recently negotiated a controversial settlement with the Mauritian government that excluded the original islanders right to return home or compensation; the UK and US negotiated another 99 years of occupation of Diego Garcia against the recommendations of the UN and ICJ court. Filipinos should also note the US herself has not ratified the UNCLOS treaty. China is not the first or the only claimant have reclaimed/ built artificial islands. For decades, the Philippines and Vietnam were the most active in building artificial islands in the area, but from 2014 to 2016 China's construction activity outpaced them. The American policy of containment ensured that the spotlight was focussed on China’s island reclamation activities. Vietnam is currently quietly reclaiming/ expanding islands in the Spratlys. A pragmatic solution to South China Sea disputes embraced by several ASEAN members is to shelve their sovereignty disputes (ie agree to disagree) and pursue agreements of cooperation over South China Sea resources through quiet diplomatic negotiations. This approach, initially suggested by Deng Xiao Peng in 1960, has achieved some progress between competing claimant states. This might lead to some agreement like the Svalbard Treaty for the Spratlys. An ASEAN-flavoured analogy to explain the SCS dispute: 2 neighbours with mango trees are arguing about a fallen mango on the ground. They cannot prove which tree the mango fell from. Consider the 3 scenarios below: 1. The neighbours fight, accidentally smash the mango and no one gets to taste it; 2. The neighbours stop arguing and sit down to share the mango in peace; 3. One neighbour decides to ask the village crime boss for help. The crime boss’ thugs take the mango forcibly from the other neighbour. However, the crime boss likes the mango so much he decides to keep the mango, collect protection money and tax all future mango harvests from both trees for himself. The body of international law that is used to settle sovereignty disputes is not described or prescribed in the UNCLOS treaty. A fundamental principle governing the international law on sovereignty disputes is that of state consent. Hence, it was beyond the PCA’s jurisdiction to arbitrate on the sovereignty of the Spratlys or define the boundaries of the Philippines’ EEZ. Under customary international law, sovereignty is determined by factors like discovery, historical title, effective occupation, official acts, official documents, international treaties, official maps, acquiescence, abandonment etc. Geographical location and proximity are often not material considerations when deciding sovereignty disputes. There are many examples of islands and territories that fly a distant sovereign flag from its adjacent neighbours. There are many examples of this: Phú Qúoc Island, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, The Falklands, Gibraltar, Greek Islands in the Eastern Mediterranean off the coast of Turkey, Puerto Rico, The US and British Virgin Islands, Pedra Blanca….. etc. The 2008 ICJ case of Pedra Blanca and Middle Rocks illustrates this point. Pedra Branca is a cluster of high tide rocks with a lighthouse built on it; and Middle Rocks are high tide rocks that did not have any man-made structures at the time of litigation. These rocks lie in closer proximity to Malaysia than Singapore; Malaysia even held the historical title to the rocks via the Johor Sultanate. However, after Singapore gained its independence from Malaya in 1965, Singapore continued to occupy, maintain and administer the lighthouse on Pedra Branca for many decades without objection from the Malaysians. Both Singapore and Malaysia consented to submit the sovereignty dispute to the ICJ. The ICJ awarded the sovereignty of Pedra Branca to Singapore while the Middle Rocks were awarded to Malaysia. The legal principles (acquiescence & abandonment) that established the transference of sovereignty/title of Pedra Branca from Malaysia to Singapore had nothing to do with proximity or UNCLOS.

I'm Serbia and my country is only neutral in Europe that's why we are under to much pressure from NATO, EU, UK, USA. Yugoslavia ( nowadays Serbia successor)was founder of non alignment country our president Tito founded it with India, Egypt, Indonesia all others free country. Hypocrisy of NATO is ridiculous because they bombarded Serbs ( Yugoslavia) 1999 and occupied 18% of ours territory and recognised it as a independent country called Kosovo ( southern Serbian province). They built biggest military bases in Europe on Serbian occupied territory. That's when Pandora box was opened. EU,NATO protection of Ukraine borders but in same time Serbian borders are and territory are under NATO occupation 😢😢😢. Pascal Lottaz never mentioned about occupied territory which under USA, NATO around the World. Just check who comes to which borders with military bases like USA (900 around the World). Europe lost independence and only Serbia 🇷🇸 is still resting.

To me personally when Zalensky requested aid from the West against Russia it brings similarities to our Malaysian ancient past. Where royals seeks outside aid usually the west to help against their rivals and ended being colonized. The power they seek is compromised. They have to have western advisors and ceded land. Zalensky now has offers Ukrainian lands and mineral wealth to the west for help basically selling his country to stay in power. 😑

The issue that China built a lot of defence and being very focused on the South China Sea was because China wanted to make sure that the U.S is not become a bully in the region. China knows if U.S becomes the dominant power in the region, it's not going to be the benefit to China. *The USA/collective Western plot is always the same.* The people of the Greater Middle East, including the Levant (most of whom are Semites, and the followers of Abrahamic religions) have been divided and ruled over by outsiders for centuries. *Because it is easier to divide people based on personal differences, than it is to unite them, based on what they have in common.* Strategically ambiguous outsiders make use of this, for own advantages. In the era of empires, first Rome/Constantinople, then during WW1 the seat of POWER playing these games changed to London/Paris (Sykes-Picot/Balfour Declaration/WW1), then after the 1950's as European colonialism's power decreased, starting around the time a bark by Washington DC in 1956 (Suez Crisis/War) showed who the new boss was, the role of divider was simply taken over by Washington DC (the entire ME was the playground during the Cold War). Now the intention is simply to avoid unity in the ME, in order to _rule over the dissent_ which is classical divide-and-rule. Today, their leaders are ALL tools. Draw lines on the map without asking any of those affected. Exploit and foster endless wars, meddle for constant dissent. *Divide-and-rule connects the dots on the timeline of history.* Who has had (in all historical cases in the ME/Levant) the GEOGRAPHICAL ADVANTAGE of distance from the events resulting out of the own meddling and political activities, being able to reach all the other regions, but could not be reached itself as hegemony, at any given point of a historical timeline? Pax Romana, Rome. Pax Britannica, London. Pax Americana, Washington DC. All they ever wanted was *pax,* because they said so, but who picks up the *pieces of great wealth and the systemic gains* when all the others can be avoided from uniting? *Different Empires. Different era. Same games...* ------------------------------------- The people of the Africa have been divided and ruled over by outsiders for centuries. Tribalism makes it easy to divide people, then keep them poor under the "kind foot" of exploitation. In the era of empires, first Rome/Constantinople in North Africa, then during the era of Western imperialism the seat of POWER playing these games changed to the USA/Europe, then after the 1950's as European colonialism's power decreased, Africa was the playground during the Cold War. Once the dividers had reached peak power for themselves, by simply drawing lines on the map without asking any of those affected (Congo Conference/1884) the own systems of gain could siphon off wealth like a giant vacuum cleaner. The intention was simply to avoid unity in Africa, in order to _rule over the dissent_ which is classical divide-and-rule. During the Cold War, Moscow took on the role of arming the resistance to the colonial dividers. Today, all African dissenters fighting against unity, including some of Africa's own greedy corrupt leaders, are ALL tools. Endless wars, constant dissent. _Give the weak mind money, and they will dance for the outside dividers..._ *Divide-and-rule.* Oldest trick in the book... Different people and systems. Different places on the map. Same games. -------------------------------------- The people of the Americas, including the USA, have been divided and ruled over by outsiders for centuries. In the beginning stages of era of European Imperialism, first Spain and Portugal entered the Americas, employing the divide-and-rule technique of top-down power on the local systems (Aztecs/Incas), and as European colonial powers' influence decreased during the 19th century, the role of divider was simply taken over by Washington DC. As the own power increased incrementally, the entire world became the playground after around 1900. Today, it is the globalists who employ imperialist tools to play divide-and-rule games on their neighbours. *Forget nukes. The divide-and-control/rule/conquer strategy is the most powerful force on the planet, because it can be employed equally in times of peace to CONTROL, in times of crises to RULE, and in times of war to CONQUER.* Ever since the two-faced snake slithered down that tree of unity (fable), speaking out of both sides of the mouth (lies, deceit), the wisest human beings have fruitlessly warned, and the easily divisable have continuously been warned against divisions within a peaceful status quo. When you bow to the division caused by deception, you will lose the good life..."and much that once was, is lost; for none now live who remember it." Such divisions create GAIN for OUTSIDERS (Eden as a system divided by lies and deceit). Now the intention is simply to avoid unity in the Americas, in order to rule over the dissent which is classical divide-and-rule. Endless wars on anything and everything from "drugs" to "terror" (sic.), constant dissent with everything's a war war war... Insert levers of lies, mistrust. The *two-party-duopoly* is two cheeks of the same golden hind which set out to create favourites: Favouritism, by granting access to the own POWER/WEALTH, to those who volunteer to act as proxies and extensions for the own power projection. The small picture lives of domestic political chaos, of the big picture reality of international insanity. Point the systemic (MSM) finger, everywhere else, by use of the own paid stooges of power by presenting their deep state-orchestrated three-letter-agency astroturfed violence on multiple tiers as being the reactions of "the poor oppressed people, who need our help for freedom and democracy" (sic.). Liars, deceivers, creators of the BLACK LEGEND for the "other side". *In February 1948, George F. Kennan's Policy Planning Staff said: "[W]e have about 50% of the world's wealth but only 6.3% of its population. ... Our real task in the coming period is to devise a pattern of relationships which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity."* Kennan: A prototype GLOBALIST. And that is what they did to increase their own wealth. Set up people against each other, then siphon off the wealth of entire regions of the planet. *And that is what you are fighting for. That is what the hegemon has always done, pretending to be the "good pax", but playing "good cop/bad cop" with the world, from a position of power.* In the past, the "good cops" were the INTERNATIONALISTS, and the "bad cops" were the IMPERIALISTS. In the present that has morphed into the "good cops" being the GLOBALISTS/NEOLIBS, and the "bad cops" being the NEOCONS. Name-branding and doublespeak for the slumberland plebs, enchanted by their "bread-and-circuses"-existences. America's friends and self-proclaimed default rivals in Eurasia are still being burnt to ensure this disparity continues, with a (quote) "pattern of relationships" which are beneficial to the own rule. Set up European and Eurasian nations (including the Middle East/North Africa) against each other. It is how divide-and-rule is implemented. The imperialist playbook of Great Britain and the USA for more than 100 years. Read Halford Mackinder (Pivot of History, 1904) and Zbigniew Brzezinski (Grand Chessboard, 1997) regarding Eurasia for the template. Read W.T. Stead (Americanization of the World, 1901) for the guideline of political-, cultural- and economic capture. Read Smedley-Butler (War is a Racket) for the modus operandi of imperialism/militarism. Some say Europe is a divine goddess. I say, it is a humble apple tree, from an allegory as old as modern civilizations, because it is easy to divide. *Divide and Rule.* Oldest trick in the book... Four corners of the globe. Different cultures and religions. Same games. THE LINK OF THE WORLD. The entire system they favor in the USA/collective West is based on a pre-set *managed and moderated division,* for the benefit of a very few at the top of the pyramids accompanied by the often-repeated nice-sounding storyline. Create the script of the own heroes. Their entire scripted money-funded history sounds like a Hollywood superhero movie that sounds too good to be true. Guess what? It is. It is what they are NOT telling you, that they try to hide. Who wields the POWER? Who has had the GEOGRAPHICAL ADVANTAGE of being able to reach all the other little buck catchers (tools, and other Roman-era style instruments of POWER), but could not be reached itself, because of a geographical-, technological-, organizational-, military-, strategic-, political advantage at any given point of a historical timeline? Create the default rival/enemy on their own marching routes. It is usually the power most likely to succeed which is determined as the default rival/enemy. Notice how, as soon as a rival starts mass-producing products high up in the value chain of capitalism, and starts vying for markets, and becomes successful, it immediately becomes the systemic rival, and is then geopolitically encircled by the greater empire. It happened around 1900, as Germany started building high-value products, and it happened around 2000, as China started moving away from building cheap toys and labor intensive kitchen appliances... The games start on the home turf. The first victims are their own people in the USA/collective West, locked in the eternal struggle for wealth and personal gain which they have been deceived into thinking is "good greed", but which WILL be exploited by the snakes who deceive them on the domestic tier of the divide-and-rule system of power. Because ..."most of the great problems we face are caused by politicians creating solutions to problems they created in the first place." - Walter E. Williams *War is a great **_divider._** It goes straight through the heads of millions and billions of people from the very top tiers, right down to the individual level. War divides alignments and alliances, goes straight through organizations, divides political parties, tears through families, and finally at the very bottom tier, goes straight through individual hearts and minds as individuals struggle with themselves.*
