@@michaeldougherty2807 Sorry, I forgot this - Turunen's voice type is soprano. Over the course of her career, Turunen has developed a vocal range of three octaves. Her range is apparent on her album My Winter Storm, where the lowest note sung is F3 in the song "The Seer", while in another song, she aimed for D6. I sang a repertoire of a mezzo-soprano for many years and because of that, still today, I have rarely quite low register for a lyrical soprano. This is actually their biggest single originally sung by Annette the previous singer. There are other live performances with Floor where she singe all the lines, I think on Decades. That was a very good observation about conserving energy in order to have enough to properly finish a show. Floor doesn't fly around the way she did in her Revamp days. The exception being "I want my Tears Back" from the Buenos Aires 2018 show, which is off the charts energy-wise.

Floor chooses her outfit style based on the album theme at the time. She has a lady in Austria that creates them. The design you mentioned that you would create is very close to the dress she wore at the Tampere 2015 concert. The heels on her shoes were unicorns. As to Tuomas head banging while playing the piano, he started playing when he was seven. I’m sure that by now his muscle memory allows him to do whatever he wants while playing. 😄🤘

As you say, Floor's stage presence is incredible. When she goes into the main part where she stokes up the crowd with the "hey hey heys", just watch Tuomas, who is standing there with his head in his hands. It's like he's thinking "what on earth have we unleashed on the audience?"

You might get a better perception of the song if you saw the video with Anette which portrays the song's interpretation by Tuomas of the art work "The Wounded Angel" by Hugo Simberg. The painting was voted the most loved painting of the Ateneum Art Museum in Helsinki in 2006. The song came out on the Dark Passion Play album originally (2007). When you see the video, you understand the musical shifts better.

Great music is timeless, it's only a matter of exposure. I had never heard of Nightwish before about a year ago. And I am a old person. Now I listen every day. Tuomas sure seems happy here. He is probably thinking to himself "Man, did we make a good decision bringing on Floor". Here is Floor again with her 80,000 back up singers. I think at times the guys are amazed at the control Floor has over the audience. She surely does.

Nightwish - My Walden (Official Live) It is from the Tampere Finland 2015 concert, outdoors. That's a happy song, still not too light, you know what I mean. I don't remember you reacting to any video from Tampere. I'm sure someone will tell you about Floors outfit in that concert, and the shoes. I think, not sure, those are the ones she wore when she fell down on stage in another concert. But she handled the situation just fine with humor. When you are a performer anything can happen. Tuomas aunt, Miitta Sorvali, is a well known actress in Finland. A month ago or so she was on the cover of a magazine with a quote from her: "Being able to laugh at yourself kills the feelings of shame." Something like that. You are looking good, like the outfit.

This and Bye Bye Beautiful both are singles and have over 100 million views on KZbin. Which is why there was some fan vocals because it was such a massive hit and Floor knew that the crowd would know the lyrics. They are both from Anette's first album with Nightwish 'Dark Passion Play'. I. My humble opinion It's their best album and it has no "bad" songs.

Because you asked...Floor does a costume change when the band plays the instrumental "Last Of The Wilds"(song #9 of the concert). Trivia : There is a costume mishap. The zipper becomes jammed under her left arm and she is a split second late on her first vocal note of "Bless The Child"(song#10). You can see her running from backstage to the mic. The zipper being down a few inches is visible and she continues until Ghost Love Score and the interlude break where everyone leaves the stage. Back on stage and the zipper is fixed. :-)

The Night wish journey mine started in 2004 .Floor is an incredible vocalist my thing is I came to love this band with Tarija their first vocalist was there from the beginning went 10 yrs was a big reason for their success is what drew me in and alot of the songs that people hear Floor do are Tarija songs once again I've been following Floor back from the After Forever days so appreciate Tarija and go back to the End of an Era DVD and listen to Ghost Love Score or Nemo or Bless the Child Dark Chest of Wonders I thought all 3 singers bought something great to the band oh hell for all that watch the concert from Denver Colorado when Annette became" sick" so in stead of cancelling the show they asked Elze and Alyssa White Gultz if they would go out on stage with them and they had to hours to learn the set list one of the greatest moves I've ever seen a band do for their fans watch the concert I'm 61 yr old rock and roller playing drums for yearrrrrss and I've seen a lot of bands over the years and that is what it means to really appreciate your fans and a little something extra my introduction to R&R was in 1964/65 I watched the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show in black and white I was 4 yrs old and I'm still that same kid I remember being mesmerized by Ringo at the age of 9 I started lessons Good Luck in your music endeavors I've listen to a couple of your songs I love that rasspness in your voice I believe that all female rock bands or fronted bands are strong right now and I think the power struggle is over Heart, The Runaways bolt that foundation it will never crumble.thanks for listen jimbo. If you do end up doing this whole concert, be aware that some versions online have a glitch and play back 4% slower. Also pretty sure she did 1 outfit change at the midpoint (last of the wilds), this song was in the second half just before GLS.

The Blu-ray release of Showtime, Storytime had a problem where the songs were slightly slower than what they're supposed to be. The DVD version luckily has the correct speeds. Just have to be careful with some of the "very high quality" YT videos since they could be captured from the BR disc.

I love seeing your reactions, as you really get it, and have the musical background to grasp all the important features. Floor had one costume change in this set, during the 9th, instrumental, "Last Of The Wilds" and it didn't quite go as planned - the side zip-fastener of her top jammed and wouldn't close properly. She just barely makes it to the mic at a sprint for her vocal cue after the intro for "Bless This Child" and the zipper wasn't fixed until the intermezzo of Ghost Love Score (which is right after this), so if you look carefully in "Bless This Child", Romanticide", this song and the first section of "Ghost Love Score" you can see under her left arm that it is not closed all the way. (at 02:54 in your [this] video) you can see it. You almost described Floor's costume for Tampere 2015 when saying what you'd design, although it also had a motif around it, connected with the theme of the "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" album. :-) Musically Amaranth seems mostly happy and is (by Nighwith standards) relatively simple, but the lyrics are pretty mysterious, at least to me. It has a music video (which is great, although I've never understood how it connects with the lyrics!) for the studio version with Anette Olzon, who was the singer when it was recorded (although I understand she was not selected until after the "Dark Passion Play" album was written), but Floor has only ever performed it live - they've never re-recorded older songs after changing their line-up, so the studio version of every song in this show is with either Anette or Tarja. Floor has performed songs from every album Nightwish have ever made though, notably during the "Decades" world tour, 2018. My 4 kids were born in the late 90s to mid-00s, and all of them are into rock, but then that is what was played most as they grew up! They have different tastes though, ranging from classic rock (Iron Butterfly, Meatloaf, Pink Floyd, Yes, Journey, Styx, etc), classic metal (Led Zepellin, Black Sabbath), Grunge rock (don't really follow that genre much, myself) and Death metal (I don't have a clue) through to Sabaton, symphonic like Nightwish or Ajen Anthony Lucassen's various projects, particularly Ayreon. So they just got a direction from me, it's not a copycat thing. Also some of the young up and coming stuff, like Motion Device, Iron Cross, and others. Lots of collaborations these days, as tech has made it so much easier, so a number of individual artists collaborating in various combinations, which make it abundantly clear that current physical distancing laws and regulations are certainly NOT the "social" distancing they are commonly known as - I've certainly socialised more in the last year than any other in my life! Just not face-to-face (maybe I have a great face for radio). There are some very "feel-good" Nightwish tracks. They also have some which move towards Folk-rock, like "My Walden" or Elvenjig/Elvenpath". "I Want My Tears Back" is also a pretty fun one, particularly as performed in Buenos Aires 2018, when they have a real party onstage and the whole venue joins in - or maybe the other way round! Love "Amaranth". One of my favorite Nightwish songs. Probably because amaranths are among my absolute favorite plants (many species & varieties thereof) . They're singing about a person (guessing), but I imagine Nightwish +82,000 people extolling the virtues of amaranth [Greek : "Never Fading Flower"] mikeinportc.imgur.com/all/#27 - with Hydrangea 'Limelight', & Hydrangea 'Great Star' (August 2012) Where I used to work, a landscaping/garden center/flower shop business, we changed things to allow plantings all across the front,m in 2010. That was a tough location, so the first year, our choices struggled , & looked inadequate. Almost 100m of road frontage, so expensive too. 2nd year, I had the idea of trying Amaranth 'Four Star Explorer's Mix' . It thrived there, in a hot, dry, salty area.Reseeded, & essentially grew itself in subsequent years. I just thinned & transplanted occasionally. It's still growing there on its own. :) Everybody - customers, employees, passers-by, the town *lovvvved* it......except one owner. I like to think of this as 82k people saying " Hey Jim, get with the program! *LOVE* the amaranth!" :PPP

As many have said, this song's studio version had Anette as the lead vocalist. This studio version is outstanding, IMO. I recommend you to react to Nightwish performing The Islander. The lead singer for that song is Marko and their live performance from Tampere will blow your mind once again, believe me that :D Also their cover on High Hopes (originally by Pink Floyd) performed during End Of An Era is out of this world and Marko sings that one too :)

the recorded version and this live version will sound notably different. this was one of the songs from Wacken originally sung by their previous singer, Annette. read a review of the "Vehicle of Spirit" show in Tampere, and the person was not a fan of this song, describing it as "Syrupy, no matter who sings it". clearly every NW fan loves this song. which is why i don't listen to critics.
