An idea to stop your shoe slipping, is you could go and purchase skateboard grip tape and cut a strip the size required and stick it to the heel rest

Yes good idea, I considered that.

Great review,please can you share with more details and compare the heusingveld sprints with the invicta?
@simracingden Жыл бұрын
The sprints are a fantastic set of pedals that have become a gold standard for sim racing, along with the higher-end Heusinkveld ultimate pedals. However, when comparing the sprints to the Invicta pedals, the Invicta really shines regarding the hydraulic brake system. It has a more "mechanical" feel, but I don't think it will be for everyone. You need to know that you'll enjoy a pedal with very short travel that relies more on the pressure, but I found my braking performance much better and more consistent on the Invicta set. Also, the ease of adjustment on the Invicta pedals should not be overlooked. It makes dialling in your preferred adjustments easier on the fly; you can run a lap adjust and repeat, whereas the sprint adjustments take more time and are more challenging to accomplish with them installed on your rig. Also, if you switch from road to race cars a lot and want a different feeling or to change the elastomers often, it will allow you to make changes quicker. I hope this helps, and if you have any questions, let me know.

@@simracingden I generally drive a very stiff and short travel pedal,only race cars mainly gt3s but I am looking for something that apparently the sprints don’t have.I can’t be consistent with them and I don’t know why.From all the pedals that you tested what is your recommendation?
@joshjmilli Жыл бұрын
I bought a set of these. Managed to fix the throttle foot slip by reducing the throw, I found the default setup was too long anyway. And for anyone who uses socks and finds wearing boots stupid, I’d highly recommend using the black elastomer to start with. Although you may feel it defeats the purpose, the brake pedal is still plenty strong enough, taking around 28+ bar to hit the 2nd stage, which equates to around 60kg of force. I felt that using the white elastomer was too much of a chore, focussing way too much of my energy trying to hit and sustain high forces, which was making me inconsistent (coming from a guy who even works out). So if you want to use the white or green elastomer, I’d recommend getting a good pair of racing boots, which will definitely help to hit the kind of forces those elastomers require from you. It’s clear these pedals are built for the extreme sim drivers, but I’d definitely recommend getting them for the hydraulic feel, a noticeable and satisfying step up from something like the Clubsport V3’s.

Thanks for sharing your experience with these pedals! I also found the medium elastomer too hard; I'm using the softer one myself; the great thing about these pedals is they offer some range of customizability to suit all driver preferences and still take advantage of the hydraulic brake. I recommend the elastomer kit to anyone that finds the included soft elastomer not soft enough or vice versa with the hardest one. Thanks for your input!

I'd like to ask - are you treating whole first stage - until end-stop hits the housing of the THORP cylinder - as a deadzone and then only treating second stage as an actual braking force?
@simracingden Жыл бұрын
No the first stage is where braking starts the only dead zone I have set is enough so that when my foot is just resting on the brake it doesn’t activate
@GrzegorzKiernozek Жыл бұрын
@@simracingden I have reached out to Asetek and they told me that intended/by-design use is actual deadzone as a whole should be set until end-stop hits the housing of the THORP cylinder - it simulates the brake disks reaching brakes and starting breaking. I've seen that in CEO explaination as well. I find it especially tricky as it requires ~35-40 bar pressure to reach out to the cylinder so pretty heavy step just to start breaking. Their intention was to elastomer be just a brake-brakeDisk distance simulation and then actual breaking I think but people everywhere seem to use mostly the elastomer part. Of course they are still perfectly usable that way - I just think if the actual race car brake really needs 35-40 bar pressure just to start breaking and if so if it makes sensible to set it like this in a sim rig?
@simracingden Жыл бұрын
@@GrzegorzKiernozek interesting I will need to go back and clarify myself but my understanding was that the soft stage your still braking but hard stage is to mimic when the brake pads are full depressed against the brake disc in the manual they state the soft stage is to mimic the brake pads making contact still with the brake disc the car is slowing down but it’s soft braking. If you were to set the soft stage as the deadzone there would quite a delay to start braking so don’t think that’s what is intended
@GrzegorzKiernozek Жыл бұрын
@@simracingden their response was: "When the elastomer is compressed, and the end-stop hits the housing of the THORP cylinder, it's to simulate the brake pads hitting the disc, and because it's hydraulic, you can easily modulate the pressure of how much pressure you put on the "brake pad and disc" as in a real racecar. In a real racecar, you have a very stiff brake pedal, so you have minimal travel. In some types of cars, due to G-force, you'll see more travel on foot cams by essentially the brake moves approx. 1-1,5cm. When we mention 1. stage and 2. stage, what we mean by that is, the travel to the mechanical end-stop (travel for the pads to touch the discs) is the 1. stage, and the modulation of trail braking, etc. is the 2. stage. The stiffness helps the muscle memory on how much pressure to apply on every corner - like a real car/race car. " I've also reached out to them for further clarification - I'll let you know if interested - but this can be something that not many reviewers actually noticed. Also Rewatch Asetek CEO explaination - he states the above response in his explaination as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5vOpX6leM2Zjpo Second stage is clearly when end-stop hits housing.

@@GrzegorzKiernozek, I see what you mean; I watched back some other reviews, and for example, Will from Boosted Media appears to understand it the way I did based on how he set his calibration of the brake is very similar to how I did mine. I'll also reach out to Asetek and get a response to publish an updated video to clarify for everyone. Thanks for bringing this up.

Changing around my seating position has helped; there is a part you can buy from SimSportGadget that at least fills the gap so your heel won't get stuck if it does slip. I no longer use them as my primary pedals, but I have another set of the Invicta S pedals on my test rig for an updated review soon. collabs.shop/w19zt9

The thing that gets me about pedals is that they don't hang down. No car has pedals coming out of the floor like the industry seems to think. Go through all the trouble of a rough but still the pedals come out from the floor seems dumb to me.
@simracingden Жыл бұрын
The Invicta S Series since they're separated will likely be able to be mounted inverted just depends on the cockpit or pedal mount. Most of the pedals that are separate units can be mounted inverted seen a lot of people do this.
