Beating a Mythical with a Legendary ain't much of a feat really. Even less when the Mythical in question just evolved the previous night,with it’s trainer having little clue what it actually is. In contrast with the Legendary it's trainer knew for a long time and was training with it.

@@mdrasedulhoque992 My comment was about Gladion being the first non protagonist to beat Mythical, nothing to do with powerscaling It's still impressive because Gladion defeated more powerful pokemon than Brandon's Regice, which he caught just one day before his battle with Ash, and that evolution is no different than perfect Zygarde, as those Meltans was always part of one Melmetal body.

And Ash battled with the Pikachu which still had a long way to become the champion level Pokemon we know it would be. Gladion did it with a Legendary he knew and trained with for quite a while,which can change it's type to it's advantage.

I might be hated for this, but this was my least favorite League. Practically everyone who participated didn't have a full team on them, Ash was only able to because Naganadel cameback to him. What was everyone expecting to happen in their battle against Mask Royale if they didn't have enough Pokémon on their team. It was like Cameron from Unova all over again.

The difference is that Cameron is an idiot and that Kukui is the one who kickstarted the whole League and as such, he could've easily just made his fight with Ash 5v5. Not even remotely Ash's fault. Meanwhile Cameron went through the entirety of his journey without ever knowing what a full battle, something that even OG series Ash knew. And OG series Ash was kinda dumb. Also, it makes sense that not too many people have a full team. Most people in the tournament aren't even island challengers. And those that are, like Gladion, aren't even working with a full team. This is likely something Kukui accounted for. I can sort of understand where your argument is coming from though; what would've happened had Lillie moved on to the second round when her only real main mon is one Alolan Vulpix. But that didn't happen, so....

But Ash deserved a win after all the embarrassing and disappointing defeats he had to suffer! And what’s better is that he became Champion after defeating Leon with an actual 6 vs 6 battle! I get that he should have won Kalos and even Alain admits that, but at least Ash’s journey did not end with him not winning a single tournament. We can love the series or hate it but there’s no denying that fans were happy with Ash finally winning after so many years!
