Finally, a generous opportunity to wear the new NN Ninja 4x90 Frames and try out some wizard skating. I really enjoyed it, despite only having a short amount of time. I will continue to wear them but the UK has hit winter hard and I've been unable to skate for 5 whole days due to the wind and rain. So I'm grateful I got one day to get my first impressions.
I'll be making more videos on the NN Frames. I'd like to go street skating next and of course I have some teaching on the horizon. I'll report back with my findings.
For a great technical review and comparison of the NN and Endless Frames I suggest this excellent video by @passiveagressiveskater. This video contained exactly the measurable variables of both frames that I wanted to know (as I will Laos be trying the Endless in the future).

Lol: this video is _everything_ - we watched her fall in love... It's so affirming to pick up on her excitement and how much she's feeling these... she went completely into her own zone! Awesome and infectious: NN are surely going to see a giant spike in sales - and this is a skate journey motivation video, regardless of the frames!

...and there I was trying to be professional hahaha. It was a fun first try and I'm looking forward to more skating and working on wizard style flows. I did a short street skate today to run some errands in town and I had to change the alignment twice until I finally got it right on both skates. Now they feel in the right place and I can focus on just getting used to them. I'm glad this is inspiring. hope to show some street skating vids soon.

Wonderful video! Not only is it a lot of fun to see you very clearly enjoying a big wheel "natural" rocker setup, this is probably the only video I've seen of someone with so much technical knowledge of all these moves trying out a frame like this (presumably for the first time?) to execute them. I hope you'll have the chance to try one of the 4x100 rockered setups as well, they're a great choice for both artistic and street skating.

So, freestyle skating is now called wizard skating because as far as I can tell your nice moves look exactly as they did in the 90s when you used to get loads of skaters down at Hove gardens. 😁 PS rockered setups are unstable at speed that's the trade-off. Nice video.

I just bought 4*100 NN Ronin, love them for same reasons you've mentioned. I found them to be a bit tricky at high speed of over 20mph. To keep stability, it is necessary to lean into front wheels so the three front wheels are in contact with the ground, sitting back results in only two back wheels having ground contact, which is less stable.
@SkatefreshVideos
@SkatefreshVideos 2 жыл бұрын
I experienced exactly that just new when I went fir a quick street skate to run some errands. First time skating faster abd when weight rocked to the back it felt a bit weird and not as stable as I like. But it’s a question of adjusting my skating. More knee bend and the front rocker felt really good a d stable. Nice to hear that mirrored by you thanks.

Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. You can try, in the worst case you will be asked to leave and that's it. Unfortunately most of the times skaters are considered reckless, the general idea is that you are gonna fall, that you can't stop, etc. therefore they want to prevent an accident. If you stay in a corner away from vehicles it may be ok because at least they know you won't hit a car.

The skating looks good on the NN frames. Are you going to provide a series of instructional videos using these frames?
@SkatefreshVideos
@SkatefreshVideos 2 жыл бұрын
Many people have asked that! I've got these frames on now for another month so whatever videos I film will be in these and several are scheduled. But I also assume you are talking about wizard move tutorials? I'd like to do a series but I find it problematic to teach more advanced skills in summary on KZbin (for safety reasons). In my online courses I always provide lists of pre-requisite skills that are essential before being able to start learning whatever advanced move. So many people do themselves no favours by attempting hard moves before they have certain key elements separately. This would make a KZbin video too long and detailed (but in my opinion is the only way to truly learn a complex move). So to skip large bits and give a few 'tips' (which is all that my usual KZbin videos do) is inherently problematic (for me). My sense of responsibility os very high. Does that make sense. But I am planning some carefully.

High Asha,, I'm about to buy my 1st inlines and begin learning but I'm on a tight budget so I won't be able to modify it later.. I'm looking for a sweet spot between good speed, high stability, agility an control.. something that can be used for urban skating and also some "dancy" moves.. I'm confused,, should I just go with 4x80s? or 4x90s flat for more speed and stability? Is that long frame agile and practical with cross overs? or should I go for ps next 3x100 with the very short 231mm frame?? Any advices ??
@SkatefreshVideos
@SkatefreshVideos 2 жыл бұрын
That really is THE question I get asked the most. And it depends on many factors about your skating. How much street skating? In what kinds of smooth/roughness? How much agility needed? Slalom agility or average agility for crossovers and transitions? The best choice is skate is all about what kind of skating you’ll be doing and sounds like you need an all rounder. I’d only say 80s if streets super smooth. 4x90 is a good mid skate abd I’m loving the agility but still ok at speed feeling of these slightly rocketed NNs…. 3x100 is super solid at high speeds but much harder to stop and manoeuvre. I didn’t think so until I’m now on the 4x90s and feel the diffs. Ultimately it’s the comfort of the boot that THE most important part of a new skate purchase and also really tricky to do online without trying on. Good luck. Hope that helps.

@@SkatefreshVideos I'll be skating mostly on asphalt and rough surfaces,, no slalom agility needed nor rockerd setups,, but "the more agile the better" maintaing good (not super) speed and high stability and control.. Seems like there's always a sacrifice 😏😏

If I feel more comfortable doing left turns, scissors are also more comfortable if my left foot is in the front position, Which leg is my weakest?
@SkatefreshVideos
@SkatefreshVideos 11 ай бұрын
Hi. This is Sergio from Skatefresh Team. In that case your weaker leg is the right, meaning you're probably a lefty at least while skating. However, it all depends on the context. Even though your left leg is stronger while steering during the parallel turn (because it has more precision) your right leg is stronger to bear most of your weight, in the same move. So in skating we prefer to say "weak side", not "weak leg." If you double the practice for your weak side both sides will become even and you will not be able to feel the difference.

@SkatefreshVideos 2 жыл бұрын
I’ve only done a little street skating but they felt really good and more stable than I imagined they would. I was t aware of the rocker or speed wobble or anything like that which I felt on previous “slalom” rockers. So far so good 😊

Hello, can you get these frames with a skate boot? complete? if yes, where please. thanks and keep up the good work.

@SkatefreshVideos Жыл бұрын
Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. These frames are sold separately. You can go to your skate shop and if they have these frames available then you can ask them to mount a skate specifically for you, therefore you will be able to choose boot, wheels, laces, frame, etc.

Ahhh the forwards toe pivot and the forwards outside gazelle. Lovely moves. I'm really enjoying the gazelles (2 footed transitions) forwards and backwards and noticed that these frames make a particular 'swish-swish' sound when you get the gazelle right, very satisfying. I'm trying to invent different gazelle combos and changing edges. It's really fun.

hola podrías hacer un video en español explicando este estilo de patinaje wizard skate . saludos
@SkatefreshVideos
@SkatefreshVideos Жыл бұрын
Hola.

Skating a rocker for just over a year now, I can go back to flat, feel to restrictive
@WhisperedDream

Agree! As someone transitioning from ice skating, initially skating without a rocker felt so rubbish - going on rocker made me feel much more confident and in control tbh. But maybe it's just because I'm used to the rocker on the ice.

@SkatefreshVideos

If Imperials are triskates then yes I think so. I didn't wear a helmet that day as I was just going slow in a small space not doing high risk things. I usually always wear one teaching and street skating.
