The ending is so raw and intense. It shows a woman who has had enough, in her mind there is no going back. The way she walked out after she caught him cheating and didn’t even flinch shows she was done. The pitiful forceful hug he was trying to give at the end was just hilarious. This doesn’t have to be related to domestic violence, once a person knows they have mentally locked out from a relationship , be it marriage or long term, just know there is no going back. I love this. 90s child for life, these kids have no idea what we grew up with. Ashanti is a queen herself.

Powerful song, like Eve's "Love Is Blind". During college, I took Marriage and the family, and played Love Is Blind for my professor, who loved it. Some girl got smart during class and said she didn't come to class to learn about rap music. I told her it was the message behind the song and to close her mouth and she may actually learn something important. Domestic violence is no joke.

He new he was a broken individual and didn't deserve her. When the person whose in your conner and should be going hard for you is jealous, they always make it seem like you're the problem in the relationship. When it fact internally they can't take it that you're winning, because they don't have the talent or drive like to obtain that success. They know you're gullible to always think probably I'm the problem in the relationship making him mad, when in fact his ego/jealousy is what doomed the relationship from the very beginning.

YES GIRL! This isn't only for relationships, it's with friends and even family. No one is really happy for you these days. Men have a huge ego also and to see their women progress is a threat instead of their Queen and being proud.

This was the first time I really paid attention to this beat. Then I watched Dead Presidents and heard it and was not surprised because it sounded to 70s-ish.

As a kid I remember my mom having this blasting thru the house on repeat.. matter of fact, her WHOLE damn CD 🥺😭. I always wondered why she use to always play this. But now that I’m much older I know exactly why. Lord, rain on me & take this pain from me rn 🙏🏽🥺

I came here to say the same thing about my mom. I never really understood why this resonated with her so strongly when I was a child, she always sang it with so much conviction. Now many many years later I understand what she felt, wholeheartedly 🖤

I had a young and single mom, I used to hear this song she used to sing it when she was happy and mad, it made me hard being a black boy without a father around and your mom gets mad at you. Fun and bad times. I didn’t understand but now I do. Blessings ❤️ love our beautiful black Queens ✊🏾

Sad situation. When the one person finally gets sick of abuse and leaves that’s wonderful, but still so sad the abuser often stays in the same state of mind, never having freedom from their own anger unless they give their life and heart to Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate game changer.

I met Ashanti during transit at an airport in Johannesburg many years ago. Unbelievably self effacing and humble. And very underrated in my view. Exceptionally talented.
