There's a good chance he'll spray botulism toxin into his face one day if he keeps eating old and obscure canned foods. Any time a can is bulging or dented, there's a chance it could be packed full of botulism toxin and simply opening the shit could kill an entire room under the right circumstances.

This is a PSA for anyone who stumbles across this comment, never eat anything from an old can, unless it's dried. At least in America, until 1991, cans were sealed with lead. Unless the food was supposed to be dry, this means that lead has been leaching into the can for years. The lining of the can itself could possibly be leaching into the can as well, even if the can isn't damaged or rusted. By the time you open it, there could be absolutely lethal amounts of lead and other heavy metal contamination in the food. Source: One of my favorite youtubers buys and opens vintage food cans and frequently runs lead and heavy metals tests on the contents, and they are almost always completely off the charts with lead and iron content.

@FhtagnCthulhu7 жыл бұрын
Rancid generally refers to the decomposition of fats. That happens even to most sterile foods given enough time (depending on their composition) but can also happen due to microbes. Rancid food may smell and taste terrible, but is probably safe. (well, don't base your diet on it) Color can be completely changed in foods this old. If a can is bulging or broken open, it might be ROTTEN. Rotten food can be deadly to eat, as many bacteria and fungus produce toxins. Botulism is the most well known. If you suspect food may be rotten, seriously do not eat it. Personally I doubt this one has botulism, I've seen examples of canned foods with botulism, and you would know when it was opened. I still would not eat it though. I am unaware of any rancid foods producing appreciable gases.

imagine that. Ashens: How do I get 40 year old beer stains off my couch? Employee at Mor: ...Huh?
@TheHutchy013 жыл бұрын
The odd thing is due to the estimated age of the sofa (the fact Stuart doesn't know how old it is, is a good indicator it's quite old) it's technically possible but incredibly unlikely someone could have spilled that beer on the sofa while it was still in production

I doubt this is 32 years old. That means it would've been 1985 when this chili was sold. The styling of the #28 on Davey's hat wasn't run until 1991. So more than likely this can originated sometime between 1991-93.
