Ashes of Creation Phase 2 Discussion and Leveling

A huge upgrade from Phase 1. Especially visually. I still think the world feels a bit 'empty'. I hope they'll add critters (like harmless small frogs, deer, bees, butterflys, rabbits) and perhaps more and, specifically, a more diverse supply of mobs in the world.

Great video. Phase 2 launch was a little lackluster for me. Wish they had focused more on questing and artisan roles rather than rushing out freeholds, but that’s just me. Performance is greatly improved for me on my 6700xt in 1440p Server performance is also very great render distance improved. Just upgrade you GPU and your good. If you are in 1440 go for 3080 or better. They are plug and play easiest part to change out.

@@majorlybaked369 thank you for this! Gonna be my next investment. And yea I agree, freeholds weren’t worth rushing out. They are very barebones and not what we were shown/promised yet so I’d rather had waited on them and had questing or something fleshed out

Years ago Steven and his team made it clear they basically didn't want to make Ashes gear and level dependent like it so hugely is in WoW. Steven said he wanted player skill , how good your group coordination is, and IRL reaction time to be the most important. But seeing how Alpha is going he's definitely back peddled on that claim as like you say in your VOD, tank especially is heavily gear dependent. The level dependency isn't too bad, you can definitely solo higher level stuff but in this regard Ashes isn't much better than WoW. So in both ways Steven hasn't stuck to that original vision, especially so gear wise. I'm not exactly complaining about this, this may be a good thing? or bad, I am still in the wait and see camp and trust in The Steven camp.
