Beauty in simplicity, grace in function. Very much a piece that would serve with distinction and honor. It has been a pleasure to see your work come to a simple elegant point.

Firstly I defer to your skill, it is amazing and the attention to detail--especially the textures, color-treatment, control of proportions, step-by-step construction and methodical application--is wonderful to observe. My only constructive criticism is to the scale of the weapon. Most people agree that Ashitaka is 1.71 or 1.72 meters tall in the film. Judging by the size of the weapon he carries compared to his frame, it would infer that the blade should be at least 61 centimeters long, with the handle being about 20 or 21 centimeters, plus 5 or 6 centimeters for the ring at the end of the grip. Obviously this is not a wakasahi or katana, as you observed in the beginning of this video, so there is no curve by design, but it would seem to have equal heft to what you have created. This weapon seems to be closer in size to a very large kitchen or sushi knife; I believe I have something of this size that I use for carving large pieces of meat for big groups of people. It is still beautiful, your creation, stunning craftsmanship and patience, but less formidable than the weapon in the film. To me, the weapon Ashitaka held always struck me as more of a machete; shorter than a traditional samurai sword, better for close combat/defense, nimble, fast. I have never seen a warabetito, so perhaps the design you modeled this blade after is more historically accurate. I would have envisioned the final product as more robust. Again, beautiful to witness. I celebrate your creation with you. Truly incredible. ☺

Wondering how it feels in hand. I'd guess this beauty is point heavy wicked chopper... but that sholdn't be much issue considering it's not too long.

im curous, do the eye of blade can be damaged by continuos friction with the inside of the scabbard? issit necessary to make the shape inside of scabbard holding the blade so the blade eye doesnt touch the wood inside?
