Crash and burn indeed. This isn’t like today where this is normalized. This was back when incidents like these were career killers. Don’t believe me? Ashlee immediately started free-falling off the charts afterwards. By 2009 she was completely removed up outta there. I remember she tried to join Broadway when she thought people forgot, and they got her up outta there too 😂 she couldn’t even hack it on a Melrose Place reboot… Then she got married to Diana Ross’ son and tried to drop an EP and it STILL wasn’t enough. Long story short, her career never recovered from the SNL skit which is standard practice today.

It wasn’t lip-syncing tho… all singers use backing tracks and sing WITH it, you can tell it wasn’t full lip syncing because it wasn’t loud and only emphasized the beginning of each sentence… it was the mistake of the producers… I don’t understand why she was mocked for this
