We know he was the only krogan of his generation who managed to kill a thresher maw. Shepard usually is working with a whole squad of capable fighters and they usually have all sorts of advantages on their sides (surprise, experience in those quick aggressive attacks, technology). Here we are talking about physically overpowering a freaking turtle twice the size of Shepard and finishing him off without any sort of problem while being under a barrel of a gun.

There is one more variation, which I only discovered this week! If you get Wrex's family armour for him before this happens, you don't even need to convince him with Charm/Intimidate options. He says Shepard has done more for him than even his own family and you just use the normal dialogue, and he agrees. Also, Ashley surviving Virmine is the Renegade choice. Kaidan surviving is the Paragon choice. Nothing will convince me otherwise.

Don't assume the timeframe between missions. It could be hours for you but weeks for others so it's not relevant to the characters decisions. That, and whilst wrex does have his shotgun out, he attempts to reason with shepard and explain his situation. It's not as simple as considering Saren more of a friend than him. It's wrex bluntly explaining that he doesn't understand the situation going on and shepards choices. It's anger out of confusion, possibly fear not out of sadism or cruelty.

Time should not be used as evidence in a video game title like mass effect. There are assumptions you can make about the timeframe but none are concrete in evidence. Also, both Shepard and Wrex continue to communicate once the gun was pulled. This is not a spur of the moment reactions killing, this is after they both conversate and the only thing that happens from there is that wrex says that he won't allow you to destroy the base. After this, seemingly by your logic, I waited 4 minutes on that scene and therefore wrex did nothing for 4 minutes showing he wasn't going to shoot Shepard. But using actual logic, you can see that he doesn't shoot for at least a couple of seconds as the camera transitions from his close up to the wide view of both Shepard and Wrex.

And you are being completely hypocritical by claiming that waiting without picking a line isn't evidence but your bizzare belief that the campaign only takes a couple of days because you finished it in that time is legit because...vague story reasons? You can't tie in the gameplay time with lore and storytelling because it's not canon. If you speedrun the game in an hour, that's obviously not realistic to the story neither is spacing it out between years or any other time inbetween. So therefore, it cannot be used to justify actions using the time you've known someone. Also leaving a discussion after adding nothing to it doesn't make you seem like a credible person for discussing anything with. You seemed a lot more passionate in your belief when you were sure no one would comment or add any other opinions or facts.

When I did his side quest because I am a completionist and then I tried killing him, I wanted to pick as neutral option as possible. It seems that you literally have to pick the utmost renegade and give Wrex order to listen to him because hes a superior officer who just gave him a command - that was the only choice that triggered this. If you recover his armor its almost like recovering Wrex's plot armor. So hard to kill him afterwards.

Ashley isn't racist. What you guys don't realize is that you can influence your companions actions and thinking depending on your decisions. You even signal Ash to shoot Wrex from behind, like a coward. Note that this is the influence of an evil Shepard. What Ashley did here was nothing more than protect her commander and saviour of galaxy. If you are a good Shepard, you can have good outcomes like the Quarians side with the Geth and stuff.

When I was a teen ((not too long ago honestly, but)) I spared Ashley on both runs of ME, since I had to play ME a second time to get enough Paragon points to spare Wrex. I did it for the reason everyone else probably did - she's the woman but now, as I get ME Legendary Edition for the PS4 while in my 20s, I realize, Kaidan shoulda been the one to survive the trilogy the whole time. Wiping out the Rachni and sabotaging the Genophage cure is morally repugnant but probably the smart move. The Rachni and the Krogan both drew the galaxy into total war. Can you really trust that neither of them will do that ever again? When the Reapers are beaten and the Council race militaries are bloodied and bruised, is it smart to trust "I promise to be nice this time"?

I also didn't even know you could kill him here (went in blind), so yeah. While he was never really on my main team, I respected him and his people's plight.

That's needed because even crew menbers remember something about earlier runs. If you don't kill Wrex in ME3 yourself (after not cureing the gp to save Mordin in my case) HE even shouts something like " What's the matter ? Isn't Ash here to do the dirty work for you ?". And how should he know, if not from an earlier run of Shepard ? These little hints start, as soon as you play the same game twice with the same character, I guess. Didn't find them on my first LED run a few days ago.

Killing him gets you the best assistance in ME3. You get mordin for the crucible, you get help from the dellatross, you get krogan help at well. All your missing is a few extra cutscenes from wrex by not killing him here.

True. The fact he pulls a gun on you in the first place means he's a danger to the mission, and even if you can talk him down, who's to say he wouldn't compromise it later on? Those are factors you'd have to consider if you were in Shepard's position. I couldn't do this to Wrex personally, but I like how most actions in this series, whether they be paragon or renegade can be justified on some level, even if some actions are far more extreme than others.

@@Wintd1 _Most_ of the major Renegade decisions are defensible - shooting Mordin in the back is _really nasty_ but if you believe securing both Salarian and Krogan aid is the only way to save Earth, then at least there's a reason for it. The only Renegade action I find _completely_ indefensible is allowing Samara to kill herself then gunning her daughter down anyway. It's pointlessly cruel and shows complete indifference to the value of life. Basically, it's serial killer shit.

Personally, I only killed him once doing a run where if anyone shoots or points a gun at me then I shoot them no questions asked. Wasn't really a fan of it at all since Wrex isn't a bad guy.
