THERE ARE WILD PIGEONS. Mak is right, they are (probably) the oldest domesticated animals but there are many wild pigeon species such as crested pigeons that you would only see in suburbs or the wild. (They do have a hunting instinct) I'm pretty sure the only pigeons you see in cities are common domesticated pigeons and homing pigeons. There are also many pet and ornamental varieties such as fantails that would not survive on the streets. Fun fact: pigeons can recognise themselves in mirrors Idk I like pigeons

As a huge gamer, I enjoy playing a lot of different games, but the games I will not touch are Souls-likes 😂 At the end of my workday I don't wanna be crushed even more, so chill games are usually the ones I start with. Also, I found this quote on a forum about comparing Stardew Valley and Minecraft which sums it up in a good way: "Stardew Valley and Minecraft might share the 'do whatever you feel like' spirit, but Stardew is more focused on farming and community, whereas Minecraft is your go-to for endless building and adventuring. They're cousins, not twins."
@Julie.Apricot2 ай бұрын

For the patron's question: A lot of young adults give up on a field after only working at one job in that field. Don't give up on something you studied and/or trained for just because the first job you got in that field wasn't a good fit! Try at least one other place. You have enough time to do that without just giving up on the whole enterprise. I agree and disagree with Ashley's advice. It's true that a lot of people hate what they do, but, as someone who loves my job, I am better and happier for it. I think the advice should simultaneously be to realize that your happiness and fulfillment might not come from your job and your job might just be a day job that funds the rest of your life. But there IS an outcome where your job--where you will spend many hours of your life!--can also be a source of deep happiness and fulfillment. Both things are true sometimes, and figuring it out for yourself can be really hard for a lot of us.
@LCSharp2 ай бұрын
I think you hit the nail on the head about how you really shouldn’t hate your job because you spend so much time doing it but it doesn’t have to be your be all, end all. I worked for years in a very niche field that I went to school for and loved. The entry jobs weren’t great but I was able to work my way up to a job that I truly adored. After some time though, my life focus changed and I realized I wanted a job I could turn off from at the end of the day. I switched fields and have much better work life balance now. It’s not the most interesting but it’s still fulfilling and I appreciate that it CAN be just a job and not a life passion. Plus, I keep a toe in the old field through volunteer work now

I don't think Stardew Valley is relaxing at all. You're constantly racing against he clock to get all the things done that need doing. There's a daily clock, and then a seasonal clock, gotta keep track of which crop are read when, and be ready to plant new ones that can still be ready within the season. Then there's all the exploring you can do and you gotta plan the expeditions to the caves and dungeons so you make it home in time while still making progress and carrying loot home, and on top of all that you need to keep track of everyone's birthdays and try to find them perfect gifts! There is so much to do, I haven't even mentioned half of it. It's pretty stressful game when you're someone who likes to do things "well" in video games lol.

And not wanting to climb the ladder is also okay.

Ashley is correct that these things are odd. Minecraft being the exception DEPENDING on generation. I played in high school when it was very new, and it was lame. I didn’t tell people, and I was okay with being odd. Minecraft was a step too far for even me. Younger people like Mak, only saw a world where everyone was cool with it and would play it. It’s viewed differently. Also, Ashley should go volunteer to hold babies at the hospital. You can also volunteer at a church with kids, just to hang out with babies.

I’m not expending all of my brainpower within that 40 hours a week. I have a set schedule. I’m off evenings and weekends. I have decent health insurance. Pairs can even be seen doing mating dances for their mate during mating season each year, even for a mate they already have (just in case she needs a reminder of why she picked me 3 years ago... Here's a lil dance number for ya babe) ALSO there's a pigeon pair under a slab of plywood at the bench where I eat lunch. My parents have a good friend who is literally a bird lady ( like stereotypical cat lady level obsession) she at one point had two of those big and colourful parrots and would always make fresh ravioli for the ducks at the pond in winter. I don’t think loving birds is inherently weird but like everything you can make it weird if you want. The most extreme thing she did was at my parents wedding, the had a meal including chicken and she went trough all the cards and crossed that one out and wrote “bird killer” on the menu. I don’t think it was big drama for my parents but that was definitely crossing a social boundary from understandable love of birds to weird obsession with other peoples actions. Like with vegans and vegetarians it’s completely understandable if you don’t want to eat meat or animal products and if you feel uncomfortable with other people doing so, but usually that means you a, discuss that with the person hosting or b, don’t attend the event.
