Hi Ashley! I’ve been doing this with you since February 6th and I’m seeing progress…. My biggest wins so far are getting up early, exercising before I go to work, drinking more water, tracking my macros and most importantly avoiding negativity! Still pressing in so thank you so much for the challenge and being a wonderful inspiration!!! Have a great day!!!

I'm 39 and I've lost and gained 20 lbs so many times over since my 20s that I've learned to appreciate both builds and very comfortable losing and gaining weight. My biggest tip is along what she says. Don't think of exercise as a chore or that you have to do a full work out. Only have 10 mins? Do some walking or crunches. It's definitely the little things. Cut sugar, drink water and substitute like she does. Works like a charm. I'm anywhere from 110 lbs to 150 in my lifetime.

It’s also good to try to reframe it in your head as something you *get* to do rather than something you *have* to do. Being able to move your body and exercise is a privilege. It’s a celebration of what you are capable of and that’s true at any level of ability.

One thing I think is really interesting to note is that the most unhealthy weight related practice is to continually lose and gain weight. It puts such a strain on your heart and metabolism and has long term health consequences that far outweighs the consequences of just staying at 150lbs. Just something worth remembering.

I love this! Im a guy, however much like you at your start, I have never been "fat" but also never in shape or healthy. It's really effecting me emotionally and confidence wise now that i'm in my mid 20s and still single. I have been about 30-50 pounds overweight for most of my life. This makes me feel like being in shape is doable in just a matter of months and maintainable!

I feel you. I'm a girl but I've always been 30-50 pounds overweight. I'm 5"2 and I think the healthy weight is 110-125, but I'm around 160. I keep trying diets but give up easily. Hopefully I can figure something out. How's it been going for you?

I learned from whole 30 that taking the time to detox from sugar your body will then learn to burn the fat for energy instead of sugar resulting in more sustainable energy throughout the day. Fats are healthy and necessary. Olive oil, animal fats, egg yolk are critical for health and not villains like we are taught to believe.

READ ME! Hi! I watch youtube all the time and have never left a comment until this one. I'm a 33 year old mom with 4 boys who have followed so many different you tubers and came across this video and it really inspired me. I don't know what it was because I have watched so many different you tubers. I instantly got excited and motivated and wanted to watch alllll your fitness/day in a life/what I eat etc videos. Please please please continue to make more. I was so sad to only find 3 or 4 videos and seen you have a huge channel of DIY and home decor etc ( which I love and will watch too considering my whole house is farmhouse as well) but I think you are the one person who might motivate me to stick to something! I loved the mental, self care you included as well. I never tackle that issue and it was inspirational. Please think about making a few more! Signed- another boy mom trying to finally find the best version of me, mentally and physically.

You look fabulous friend 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you for sharing your weight loss and good health journey. I really needed this. I’ve been on a weigh loss journey myself since August. I’ve lost 55 lbs and still have more to go. I was walking 2-3 miles 5-6 days a wk plus doing some weight exercises, however I started having major pain in my hip and knee so slowing the exercises came to a halt. Which isn’t where I want to be. You have really inspired me to get back on track not only finding the exercise I can do but to meditate, journal, and be kind to myself through all of this. I’m so proud of you Ashley. ❤

I’ve been on this journey for 40 days now! And I had the same excuse as you about tracking macros before. It was just so daunting to think about tracking when I’m already feeling at capacity in many areas of life as a homeschool mom with three kids! But one day I just decided I was going to do it. My husband does it along with me and that helps as well because we are able to encourage each other and help each other find good food ideas when we are getting bored. The biggest thing I’m doing right now is eating very much the same things most days. It just takes the decision out of it and I’ve found things I love to eat.

Wow, you lost the weight awesome! You look great! I just know what back pain feels like and wish no one else would have to experience that pain. When you are lifting weights, if you look at the floor you restrict your breathing a bit and might hurt your back. I hurt my back lifting wrong and the one thing i learned from that was to open up my chest and look straight ahead. It feels so much better. 🧡 Love your queit morning routine, it defently improves your mood for the rest of the day. ☮

I've gotta stop you right there (at folding laundry). I was admiring the cozy fire in your room and I had an AHA moment. I put off folding laundry (the visible reminder every night stresses me) bc my bedroom doesn't give me warm fuzzies. Husband be damned, I'll bet if I changed things around it wouldn't feel like a place I'd want to escape every morning and avoid all day... ❤️ **One more thing-eat your meals without distraction. I don't care how busy you are, you DESERVE those few minutes to fully enjoy the effort you put into making it. I cannot convince my kids of this and it breaks my heart.

I don't have much weight that I wanna get rid of, it just comes down to creating healthy habits and structuring my time more intentional. @jes I´m succeeding in getting up early after listening to Mel Robins and her audiobook „The 5 seconds rule”. I also thought about myself as „not a morning person” but it’s all about making a decision and sticking to it. You don’t have to like it to be able to do it. I’ve been doing it for a month now, almost every day (I think I slept in 2-3 times to get enough sleep if I happened to go to bed too late), I go for a long walk right after I wake up (in May I did 150 miles and took over 430,000 steps. I do intermittent fasting and lost almost 9 pounds already. I’m loving that I’m able to stick to my new habits. I hope I can do it through the autumn and winter but living in Sweden it might prove difficult :)

I love this, but I would like to add that dietary fat is not bad for us and has so many benefits. Such as making us feel satiated and full so we don’t overeat. We don’t necessarily need to cut fats out of our diet, we can simply just eat them in moderation. Fat also should be eaten along with protein as it helps our bodies properly digest the protein.
@DNELLEB
@DNELLEB Жыл бұрын
Yeah this is absolutely correct and dietary fats that contain omega-3s etc are very important for aiding in reproductive health. As well as when the triglycerides in fat are broken down they become an energy source especially for long-duration, low- to moderate-intensity exercise! So dietary fats are definitely important as u said!

8:43 Our body never "produced" collagen, we absorb it by consuming it. Starting at the age of 25 we slowly lose our ability to store it. And the percental amount we lose yearly increases yearly. Consuming more means less deficit. For women it's even more crucial, because after menopause the loss is drastically and that's the reason for tissual and bone debilitation. Strength training heightens the bone density over time and different proteins such as collagen are needed for that, also.

You can better rid yourself of the late-night snacking (or cravings) by stopping eating at 6.00pm every day like I’ve done for over 50 years (hence I’ve always stayed the same weight). Once you get into this routine it becomes a way of life and your gut has chance to rest until you start eating the next morning.

Yes! It’s called intermittent fasting and has sooo many benefits. People go to it for the weight loss, but stay for the health benefits 🎉 You already fast while you’re sleeping, so just slightly stretch it by stopping eating a *little bit* earlier. Start eating *a little bit* later. Stretch it and tweak it until it’s easy. An amazing resource for this is Gin Stephens. Look her up y’all. She’s the real deal ❤

Sigam firmes e fortes. Abraços. ❤❤

I just came across your channel and am so happy to finally see a mom accomplish this. Gives me hope that I can. I have been struggling with emotional eating for a long time. In those moments when I want immediate relief (even if it's temporary) from having a bad day or a bad morning with my kids but I cannot leave and take a break because I have young kids or maybe I'm trying to take them somewhere and not be late. How do you get immediate relief without food? This is one of my downfalls.

You look so healthy and glowing. Love this video! Also love your makeup, but I’m wondering if you did full on makeup in the morning before your workout because you were doing a video or is that just the order you do it in usually? Either way, you look great!

I used my voice recorder to check in with myself. The files save to my music app but that helped me a lot because I'm always listening to my music... one of my recordings would pop up and I would hear how tired, over it, sad, and stuffy I sounded from being over weight. For some reason this really got to me and made me get up and go walk. Currently walking 10k + steps 6 times a week and I eat whatever I want... but healthy alternatives like mentioned in the video.

On the weekends we got a sushi plater and ramen, every Saturday... and that's pretty much all we eat that day. Then we game together. On Sundays his mom cooks for the family dinner. we usually sleep all morning, shower and drive over there and just enjoy the family. Even tho his mom doesn't cook 100% healthy... we are so involved talking and catching up with everyone the one plate of food we do eat doesn't knock us out of our deficit.

This works great if you’re a homemaker and stay at home mom with a partner who is frequently at home but if you have to work full time outside of the home and so does your partner, then that changes the whole game. Getting kids ready for school and then going to work for 8-9 hours a day…. Means I’d have to get up at 4-4:30 and that’s just not practical for a full nights sleep. Meal preps are far more important to those of us on a work schedule. I’m happy if I get an evening workout in maybe 3 times a week and do some weights while watching a tv show in between getting all the cleaning chores and laundry done. We both work hard to keep up on all the tasks and then using the weekends to do yard work and spend time with the kids, grocery shop and prep for the upcoming week. I’d love to be able to stay at home with this kind of luxury. I just don’t think this is realistic for most people tbh.

It may seem I’m just a homemaker but I actually run 3 businesses from home. Most days I work 10+ hours. I never work less than 8 hours a day. My husband is out of town a lot for work and some weeks I’m all alone parenting/working with 0 help 👌🏻 Sleep is obviously the most important and I’d never wake up earlier if it meant I was only getting 5-6 hours each night. I made this up to challenge myself because going to sleep early has never been something I’m good at. I feel the most productive at night and would work until 3am but I knew that was causing so many problems for me (not getting sleep and late night binging) so I made it a priority to wake up early so I would have to go to bed early

I was going to say the same thing. This is a very privileged lifestyle. Also a lot of people who struggle with weight have mental health issues that impact on motivation and sleep patterns. This video is good for privileged women with money, who don't have to work full time or have any mental health issues or other issues that impact their ability to follow this program.

@@jess.of.suburbiaI’m sorry but mindset really is everything here. I wish with all my heart that I could afford to work. Instead I have to stay at home with my toddler because we can’t afford childcare. If you can afford childcare so that you can maintain your career and financial independence, or you have free childcare provided by family then that is also a huge privilege. My husband and I also both have chronic illness and that in turn causes mental health struggles for both of us. You know what doesn’t make any of it any better? Not getting enough sleep. Eating garbage. Not exercising. You don’t have to follow this exact protocol to take care of yourself but no one can afford to just not attempt to take care of themselves at all. Not bothering just because you can’t get up any earlier or you can’t work out 5 days a week is a cop out. If you can work out for 15 minutes 3 times a week…do that. If you can quickly add 3 things you are grateful for to an app on your phone before you go to bed at night…do that. We all HAVE to take care of ourselves however we possibly can. For ourselves and our children. I might not be working but my toddler is up at 4.30am every day! The OP said she’d have to get up at 4.30am to do this because she has work to get to and kids to get ready. I don’t have a choice. That’s when my kid wakes up. So reducing struggles to working parents vs not working is incredibly reductive. Neither is easy. Neither is privileged. Anyone who has the choice either way is privileged but most of us on both sides of the fence have not actually made a choice, our hand has been forced. Trust me it isn’t great for your mental health to be at home with young children all day every day. To have no adult conversations. The not be able to use your brain, creativity, skills you worked decades to learn anymore.

@@jess.of.suburbia lots of us intentionally downsized and simplified to be able to stay home while our kids are little. We went down to one vehicle and got rid of any extra expenses. I know a lot of other couples who made that same decision or just realized it would cost more to pay for childcare etc. I’ve been a single working mom and now a married sahm and both have their own. struggles and benefits. It’s all about growth mindset what she’s saying though. If you can’t wake up early, prep healthy food the night before, walk or journal on your lunch break, make time for a class or hike on the weekend. Ymca has free child care and reduced memberships for low income households. We can’t all have a huge gorgeous house but the majority of us can have a beautiful, intentional life.

Still yummy just more like warm pudding... 🤔 OK so it thickened a wee bit as it cooled, dude it was my dinner. Added 5g SF Reddi Whip & 10g nut butter ... will definitely make again. Ty ❤
