Bless you Dr Berg. At 67 years old and a pre-diabetic, I had almost lost hope that I would ever lose weight. As a carb junkie, I thought I could never do keto. But after you explained that carbs and sugar blocks the ketones from burning fat…..it clicked. No one ever explained it that way. You also corrected what I heard for years: that it’s healthier to eat small meals throughout the day. All of this bad advice brought me to 229 lbs. After following IF and keto for 2 weeks, I have lost 9 lbs. I am so happy and inspired. I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart for explaining the reason WHY we are overweight and WHY our bodies are insulin resistant. By understanding why we were having these challenges, it gives us the willpower to keep going. By the way- I’m no longer a carb and sugar junkie. I can look at them now and not crave them- understanding that the cakes, cookies, crackers, chips, rice and pasta are my enemies and not my friends. All the best to you and your family Dr Berg. Congrats to you for finding what works, and for beating those carb addictions! 🎉 Pre-diabetes here too, but my numbers are within “normal” range for the past year. Nowadays I like to practice staring at Twinkie’s and Hostess cupcakes whenever I’m at a convenience store so I can enjoy the feeling of strength I get from looking and thinking, “YOU HAVE NO POWER OVER ME.” It seems twisted, but knowing I CAN do this and not be lured back to eating them gives me strength to continue! ❤ This morning I’m at 158, down from 210. I’m only 18 lbs from my original goal of 140 (a good weight for my 5’3” height + some muscles). Setbacks sometimes occur but if they do get back to the following the rules, persevere and it WILL happen! Keep up the good work!❤

Yeah I wish I'd known about intermittent fasting MUCH sooner. It might have even saved my Sister's life as well. I know it makes a tremendous difference in the way I feel, if I intermittent fast the night before and don't eat until the proper time the next day. I also recommend keto dieting although it can be difficult to do without some guidance and sometimes modifications. But there are a lot of different people who can help with that online and make it easier; many post recipes for example. And Monk fruit sugar definitely changed my life as well. It is real sugars identical twin but without the devastating side effects of sugar and without the weird aftertaste of some sweeteners.

I weigh 156 on Jan 1st. I weigh today 4-14-2022 134. I did everything Dr. Berg suggested. I went from intermittent fasting 2 meals a day until, I saw this video, which was the same day it came out and started OMAD. I bought Dr. Bergs Mineral powder and Vitamin D3 with K2. I'm still not stopping. My goal is 120 or 125. I feel great!!!

I stopped eating sweet's for the whole month of June at the end of the 30 day's I no longer am a slave to ice cream walnut/raisin rum brownies... Publix carrot cake... famous Amos chocolate chip cookies with pecans (no longer on the market)... now if I try to eat a cupcake I end up spitting it out in a napkin I also drank more water don't eat after 6pm brisk walk 4 time's a week dropped a whole pant size from 12 to a 10 now the month of August will go to working out 3 days a week 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Thank you dear doctor I will forever be grateful 🥲🥲

Lost 30lbs with OMAD everyday 20 hrs IF .. within 4 months AND did not do keto for my meals(i did "carb cycling") But I did work out everyday for at least 30 min. Strong believer of IF!

I'm up to 19:5....comfortably. my body has been trying to do this naturally for years but I never fed myself the proper food to make any head way. @@brianpoljak I'm not a doctor, but as someone who lived with severe anxiety for decades, I didn't take anything in a way as a supplement, the anxiety just began to resolve itself. I notice a difference within about 3 weeks and felt better every week. By the 3rd month I spoke with my doctor and began tapering off my medication and by the 5/6 month I no longer needed them. I have no doubt that it's all in the gut; I had many years of antibiotics, I was sure to eat fermented food. I believe that helped quite a bit.

What would we do without you, Dr. Eric Berg? Thank you so much for helping all of us who cannot come to you directly! I am not on the cleanest fasting and time to time had some events where had some not-so-good food but with all of that, I managed to lose almost 5KG in 2 months. And the best thing is that I can already see improvement in my mood and my body shape. Sugar cravings are finally gone and I do not eat any junk food as I am not drawn to it. Finally, I can feel myself again and not that food-obsessed person which only thinks about the food.

I was 98 kilos before I started to follow your intermittent fasting and keto advices, and after 3 months i am now @75 kilos, thank u, i love that i discovered you in youtube, i have tried many things to loose weight by far this is the best and easiest way, i am not even exercising as much as i did before, i did just daily routines like walking to the market, home chores etc. My wife was even mocking me initially, but after seeing the results on me, she is now on keto and intermittent fasting as well

@@GrewalDaman Hi, I did intermittent fasting, I skipped breakfast I ate from 12nn until 5pm or 6pm then stop eating and drink water if I feel the urge to eat. repeat daily. Initially I did intermittent fasting with Keto, but when I reached a weight of 73 kilos, I went back to just intermittent fasting. I lost weight without even doing exercise. I just did my daily routine like walking to work and to the market. That's it! I just followed what Dr. Berg said. Thank you to him and others like Dr. Eckberg.

I haven’t added HIIT yet but I’m doing everything else. I’ve lost 28 pounds since mid November; I was losing weight so fast at one point that it concerned me but I finally plateaued at a good weight and body fat percentage. I didn’t like the appearance of loose skin as I lost body fat but thankfully it is going away. Feeling much better, sleeping much better, more energy, six pack gradually appearing, no more GERD, no more nighttime peeing. My granddaughter commented that I look much younger.

Yes, the loose skin was unexpected but I preferred that to excess fat. If you keep the same routine the loose skin seems to eventually evaporate. After 2 years I still have loose skin but it's much less than I had 2 years ago. Long periods of fasting (1-3 days) seems to help.

@@silviaarmini1098 I'm not an expert but I do keto, so I quit sugar, bread, rice and pasta. I do IF (intermittent fasting), started with 16-4 and worked my way up to 20-4, 21-3, 22-2, and finally 23-1. Fast for 23 hours and eating window is 1 hour. I eat one meal a day, during that time if I want to get into ketosis quicker I eat 4 - 5 eggs a day! And a meat item along with veggies; cauliflower, lettuce, cucumber, broccoli, cabbage. After each meal I'll have an avocado or some Olives, for good fat. Drinking 12 cups of water a day, yes 12 cups is the goal! I also add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar WITH the mother and 2 oz of lemon juice in my 16 oz water bottle, this helps with cravings and digestion. Hope this helps.

i began my journey to a healthier me last Monday (02/14/22). I weighed in at 417lbs. I started by jumping in at intermittenting fasting with just 1meal a day. I weighed myself yesterday Wednesday (02/23/22) and came in at 389lbs. Thats 28lbs down in just a week and a half. I am an Oriental Orthodox Christian. We have 180 fasting days in a year. In addition we don't eat, egg, meat (of any kind of animal), milk and dairy products every Wednesday and Friday throughout the year, only vegan. Specially the Monks who lives in the Monastries use to fast more than what I have mentioned above, and they are well known by their healthy life. Most of them lives long and healthy. So fasting is very important as you said. Thanks so much Doctor for your caring and good information!

It took me a while to go from nibbling all day to 2 meals a day in a short window and managing omad occasionally. Only lost 11lb but feel amazing compared to the state I was in. I'm pretty sure I was borderline diabetic, breathless and palpitations. I am going to carry on with my slow weight loss and look at the big picture 😊

@@Drberg Hello Dr Berg I fasted for 72 hours for the first time ever in my life. Water fasting. Afterwards I felt great and very strong. As if I was young again. Only issue is I started eating heavily the next day. From crumpets, Curries, rice, cereals, jam , etc. I developed a huge appetite. I just felt very hungry and felt I had to satisfy my hunger , otherwise I felt uncomfortable. Now, my skin has become a bit 'fatty' and my muscles seem to be just lump of fats when I touch them. So instead of muscles, I just feel fat in the muscles . This never used to be the case before. Does anyone know why that is ? And how do I get rid of this excess fat my muscles have turned into ? Shall I do 3 day fast again, to get rid of this excess fat ?

I’m 73, 5’9”, have high blood pressure, a pacemaker, gurd and a borderline glucose. I started on IF in late November of 2021. I lost 10 pounds in a week then plateaued. At the end of December I started healthy keto following your recommendations. After two days I was able to transition to OMAD. Since starting this process in late November, I dropped from 205 to 167. My blood pressure is now 132/72 without meds and I’m off Prevacid. My weight loss has slowed with about 7 more pounds to reach my recommended weight. One interesting observation that was a little frustrating when tracking my weight. My weight will increase during high barometric pressure and decrease during low pressure. I’ve recently added exercise to my weekly regimen. I still have a ways to go, as I still have high levels of ketones, though I notice a drop in the morning before I eat and a spike in ketones after I eat.

ACV & lemon even diluted is still too acidic for the teeth. I have seen the long terms damages to teeth from regular use of these products. The pH of the mouth should be neutral. Always drink with a straw where possible and rinse the mouth out with water afterwards. DO NOT brush the teeth immediately after drinking. Allow the pH to neutralise for an hour or so before brushing otherwise you will scrub all your enamel off - regards, a dentist.

Trying to loose that last 10-15 lbs, my body seems to fight me at 190 lbs. Carb craving comes back and even though I eat healthy Keto snacks, I gain back 3-6 lbs. I've been doing OMAD with no snacks and the weight is slowly coming off. I just got to stay consistent, and maybe add exercise, HIIT. Dr Berg is the BEST! I feel sooo much better when in ketosis!

You definitely practice what you preach doc, very encouraging. Using your advice on acv and bile salts took care if my heartburn. Had it for years, no matter what I ate I had heartburn. Took about 4-6 months of taking bile salts and or acv before and after meals. I slowly started using less and less until I've used none. I occasionally take acv if I over eat. Magic bullet was intermittent fasting along with acv and bile salts. I never thought living without heartburn was possible! I'm 47.

P.S. it's all a process, not gona happen overnight. Key is take it one day at a time and don't panic. Setting attainable goals and challenges helps. Having a good friend along on this journey also helps. Share what you eat with your friend, good and bad, don't pretend, be honest. The struggle is real, you're not gona get results instamatically but you will maintain and it will get easier and easier with each small victory. A setback is not a game ender, don't quit.

What I am confused about here is that we are talking about fasting for weightloss but what seems to be comign through is that it is really the diet that is driving that. I specifically point to 7:44 where the introduction of carbs just completely inhibits the weightloss for up to 48hours. This implies that the fast is not doing much of the weight, rather it really is the diet that is driving weight loss.

Thank so much Dr Berg. This video has solved my problem. I did OMAD for 1 month... I would say it was effective as l lost more than 5kgs. However, l expected to lose more so l got discouraged and l stopped. This video has made me realise the two major mistakes l made: 1. I didn't do any exercise 2. The one meal was packed with Carbs. Today is my 29th day on OMAD, no exercise, yes I had alcohol 4 times this month and I eat clean keto but there were 4 occasions where I added a bit of rice and lost 5.2 kilos to date which I couldn't do eating clean keto on 3 meals a days or 2 meals a day !!!!! so I love it ! it's been challenging but my mind is set on it, because you feel so much better than constantly eating !!! The first 10-12lbs is usually water weight from all the carbs we eat... Thats why it drops fast... Once u are fat adapted u will still loose weight but more gradual. Keep up the good work

So satisfying listening to this as a 2 year veteran of the process vs the novice I used to be! It's ALL TRUE! A few notes: 6:00 Trying on too-small clothes every 3-4 weeks worked for me. 6:12 After 10 years of obesity I expected changes in a year or so. But I began in May saw significant results by July and had lost all excess weight (50 lbs) by Dec!!!🤯 If you follow these tips it won't take that long!!! 6:44 💡 The most life changing concept! I became so busy trying to get healthy that I forgot about the weight loss! Two years in, my main challenge is a balance between slender and gaunt skinny 😄

Yes I did OMAD. Turns out, when I eat keto friendly I don't get that hungry so OMAD was easier than it sounds. I don't eat birds, mammals or land dwelling creatures. My proteins and fat are from fish and animal by products. I eat from 1-7pm. Today's meal: butter fried eggs w goat cheese, sardines, avocado slices, salad on the side. If I get through that I may have some nuts or cheese before 7pm. I drink seltzer w lemon. I also drink white wine regularly; doesn't seem to matter. I've maintained the loss and lost more weight in the last 2 years!

I've done this, so the best advise I can say is: Do this gradually if it's hard at first. You're in this health program for the rest of your lives, and and "IT'S WORTH IT!!"....For IF, just go till 8 o'clock, then the next day 8:30, etc. before you have breakfast. It's doable. I've been there.

It's all in the mind - the body will follow. I used to run & coach marathon runners who'd never done it before. Our bodies are amazing machines and we do have power over how we choose to live & feel.

Been doing IF for about 6 months - have a weekly routine of Three days 18/6, one day 24hr one day 12/12 one day at least 16 hr- pattern it with Low Carb- do HIIT 6 days a week- IF is a good layer to my routine- health benefits are there and mood- PS- I love the beard- it's great on you!

I have so far made some changes have not weighed myself but I put on some pants today and they fit different. I am the same height as you and yet weigh double what you weigh . I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for 2 weeks already. When I started I was 166 and now 155 pounds. I can see a huge difference in my stomach. I will be doing this for quiet few months to see if I can go down to 120 which is my desire weight! ❤ can’t wait

I lost a lot, fast & ive kept it off for about two years now. I eat twice a day once 8am or 10am and then again 2pm or 4pm. I did the keto route but now I eliminate carbs as much as possible & almost no sugar. I cook more instead of getting prepared meals that have a lot of ingredients. I don’t do HIT I walk 3 miles & occasionally I do weight lifting. I consume a lot of NO SUGAR added items instead of sugar free items big difference. Different things work for different ppl. Consume less drink more water but whatever you do you do have to be consistent 🥰

I've lost over 100 lbs doing intermittent fasting and have been keeping it off but I have a bit more to lose. I've just recently been able to do OMAD and I love it and I'm doing Keto too now, so I'm hoping this will get me the rest of the way to my goal. I love fasting though; it is perfect for me. I'm glad I don't have to exercise much because that is my downfall..just can't stay consistent with it but doing it just a couple times a week sounds very manageable so I will give that a try. I also had been weighing myself only once a month and doing the pictures...that works well too because the scale is always down, yippee!!! I really like IF because I abhor tracking anything and I will not do it, lol! It's definitely a lifestyle I can stick with.

@@HaileyLove11 I really eat whatever I want and that includes sweets and things like that. I couldn't do it any other way. I don't eat them nearly as much as I used to and over time I have lost my desire for them almost completely at this point. For me, nothing can be off limits because then I'll just want them all of the time. This way I have just lost the desire and I can just leave it alone...it's true freedom.

Maybe it would be a good idea to go more in depth with omad, and who benefits and when. I've done omad almost half a year, and on and of the last months, but 20:4 or 18:6 seems to work better for weightloss at the moment. In summer it was great... Looking at IF groups there seems to be a tendency, for omad working great for men, and some women post menopause, whereas younger women seems to do better with 16:8 or 18:6, but it's just an observation...?

Totally agree.... I just started menopause and find one meal a day was just to much at one time.. I'm leaning towards carinvore and feel great. Trying to take off last 10 pounds. I usually eat at one and stop by 3 and that works better.

I didn't start on your advice but, I lost 15kgs within two months. At some points I had full control to lose more or less according to my needs. Just increase the hours and add a few more walking steps and exercise to lose more, this technique is amazing. I lost only 15 kgs in two months as this was safe for my health.

I'm doing 16/8 intermittent fasting but no keto ...I eat almost anything in the eating window....and I have seen results in less than a month because I used to overeat and snack at night and a lot of emotional eating so IF has eliminated that which has shown great results
