And it makes absolutely zero sense. What if it was a learner who would make a mistake and actually change lane and hit the van. Hi Ashley, yet again I sit here watching you driving and explaining what you are doing and why, it reminds me of just how much I enjoy driving!, the constant and relentless observation and calculation that all the time you can self-assess your own performance by just how smoothly you can proceed. The last few years I have become even more delighted to find that I do not need to drive quickly in order to continue to think quickly, almost a new mantra, think fast drive slow!. I imagine there must be some optimal ration of the two that yield the best results, the only issue being that I am now more familiar with the fact that my own performance varies quite a lot according to exactly what condition I am in at the time!, obviously when I am quite tired every thing must slow down but I do try a bit harder to pay attention when I am feeling very fresh I can relax a bit more. The only thing that is entirely consistent is variety!. Cheers, Richard.

The BMW (yet again!) at around 5:52. "Less than ideal" on several counts: 1. No lights on despite overcast conditions and a relatively dark coloured car. 2. Rushes to the back of the queue at the lights, only to have to wait in stationary traffic 3. No right signal for turning right at the lights 4. Poor (though likely deliberate) lane choice if they knew they were going to need the left lane immediately after turning right. In contrast, your pupil did it perfectly 5. Last moment dive into the left hand lane for that final left turn 6. No left signal for that final change into the left lane or indeed for the 2nd exit off the roundabout

Had it for ~200m the other day - crash closed the main road and all the traffic diverting through backstreets in the town was causing chaos - got to a point where the only way forward, no option of going back, was squeezing between parked cars and the queued traffic coming the other way on a narrow street, wing mirrors folded in, with the parking sensors on constant tone... crazy sense of relief on clearing it.

Because of course a second exit straight on turn you would normally use the left hand lane to do it’s just those road markings are slightly confusing.
