Many years ago, I lived in Australia. The very first roundabout for several hundred kilometres was built at the end of the road where I lived. It caused much confusion. There would regularly be a situation where 4 drivers would pull up at the approach roads, all looking at each other and wondering what to do. Eventually, someone would pluck up courage and make a move... and all 4 would go at once. They would carefully shuffle round the roundabout until each had reached their exits... then the process would repeat with the next batch. As I'd learned to drive in the UK and was already familiar with roundabouts, I would frequently arrive, see the roundabout was empty, and just sail around it... leaving other drivers giving me looks that clearly asked "are you allowed to do that?"

Those bright billboards need to be banned. They're utterly ridiculous. We can't have moving images in the car, but we can have giant illuminated billboards with animated adverts on them. That retail park in Warrington and the billboard at the end of the M62 are the most egregious local examples. Also, that three car emerge on the mini roundabout was 👌

Those bright modern car headlights need to be banned the ones that flash blue in your review mirror when they go over a crest or bump in the road and look like an emergency vehicle approaching, and when they totally blind you from seeing anything with your conventional headlights when they are coming directly towards you its as if everyone is driving with full beam on!

What irritates me is this is solved with a light sensor costing pennies. Obviously they 'need' to be brighter during the day (if you consider electronic billboards a thing we 'need') when ambient light is brighter, but nowhere near as bright at night. Obviously. We are all used to this with phone screens that adjust to be brighter when used outdoor during the day vs in a dark room at night. But apparently the same common sense is not used with these stupid billboards. This is something which simply shouldn't be an issue. And I can't even see a money / profit thing as being a legitimate argument as to why they don't have a cheap sensor (not that it should be legal anyway). They are so uncomfortably bright at night, that I need to actively avoid looking at them. Which defeats the point of an advertising billboard.

@@dgphi You're absolutely right. Roundabout and junctions work so well when everyone is in tune with each other and can potentially, like in this one, allow more vehicles to pass through. Unfortunately, not many people have the brain function to be able to understand that. I too liken a mini roundabout to a synchronised dance. Imagine it with the roundabout taken out of the equation and it would almost be as good as those stunt driving shows. 😂

I think it's good that they are actually researching headlight brightness now though, modern blue LED or Xenon style lights are very glaring, and their auto-levelling technology is naff, they bounce up out of sync with any bumps the car goes over and it looks like a main beam flash. They are so complicated to adjust that many technicians won't bother if the beam isn't too far out of alignment, but that can make all the difference in normal driving conditions.

My personal bugbear is drivers who think they are speeding when they're not and they brake for a speed camera when they don't need to. A1020 in Beckton between the A406 and Beckton roundabout is a prime spot for this. There are speed cameras on both carriageways and it's a 40 mph limit. The number of idiots who were doing 40 mph next to me who suddenly slam on the brakes to go through the cameras at 30 mph while I sail through at 40 mph has to be seen to be believed.

I think its more likely the tractor driver did not hitch correctly and (porbably intentionally) forgot you are legally required to have a secondary restraint on any towed trailer - including farming equipment - to prevent this exact scenario. As its unhitched the hydraulic hose connected to the trailer will have been broken.
@andrewjohnson1467

@@DAFPvnkexactly what benefit would "probably intentionally" not hitching up correctly bring. Also single line hydraulic braking is still legal on agricultural trailers, in fact the slurry tanker in question is not classified as a trailer, it's an agricultural implement as it's got a dribble bar fitted.
@kenbrown2808

@@DAFPvnk indeed. here, it is required to have safety chains secured, and on a trailer large enough to have its own brakes, there is to be a failsafe that applies the brakes should the trailer decide to wander off on its own.

The confusing indicator one reminds me of a Corsa I saw on the motorway yesterday. They were driving in the lefthand lane, then moved to lane two to overtake. Great. Except the second they pulled into lane two they indicated left, even though they hadn't passed the vehicle in front. The indicator stopped flashing while they were still in this lane, and they later moved over to lane one without signalling again. They did this multiple times. I've honestly never seen anything like it in my life. I just followed behind them for quite a few miles until they pulled off. Totally bizarre

I suspect your Corsa driver might be someone cancelling their right indicator a little too forcefully, and flicking the lever down far enough to trigger the non-latching left signal position. I had a Vauxhall (can't remember the model - Grandland, maybe?) on hire a little while ago which had an annoyingly sensitive indicator stalk. I know I unintentionally triggered an opposite direction indication more than once when trying to cancel a signal. In my case, of course, I quickly became aware of the problem, and did my best not to repeat it!

At around 6:44 re the Audi driver behind blaming the cammer for thier own bad planning. Totally agree it was really all on the Audi and not our cammer. One additional observation: I already "clocked" the Audi driver as a bad planner at around 6:44 by the late manoeuvre into lane 2 and even that was after observing our cammer make the same manoeuvre. When you are selecting "the lane of least resistance" you want to be doing it early and gradually, not as a last minute manoeuvre.

It was good awareness from the lorry driver as well to not just move central as the road narrowed. When the car joined me in lane 2 I was aware they would probably try and tag along and was not disappointed. 10:04 It's empty. They never empty every drop. Dropping off the pickup hitch was enough to clear that few litres or so left in the system. Tankers like this pull a vacuum from a pump that pulls/pressurises from the top of the front of the tank while the pump itself is at the end of a further length of pipe on the drawbar of the tanker as it's driven by the PTO (Power Take Off) shaft from the tractor, so at the base of the front of the tank, so the contents are pushed out by building up air pressure in the tank above it. However, once the level drops the the diameter of the valve at the back, the air can obviously get past any remaining liquid, and so there's always some left. You only need to take the attachments off the back of one once to learn just how much that can be. :) Edit; The spraying in the air at the front is a pipe from the tractor for hydraulic brakes on the tanker. The hose must have pulled apart when the tanker separated. You can see the pulse each time they hit the brakes.

"Even this Mercedes SUV driver knows what to do." :-) Something I've noticed - Mercedes drivers = unaware and inept, 4x4 drivers = inept, so you'd think that a Mercedes SUV driver would be doubly inept, but that doesn't seem to be the case, they only seem to have the traits of one of the classes, they don't get added or multiplied.
