I hope she can find a supportive therapist. - Afraid of medicine because her dad died - Says grief doesn't get better and seems to still struggle a lot with her dad's death - Says she doesn't know how to relax because she has worked since birth (and thinks that's ok) This poor kid.

Grief doesn't actually get better, especially the grief of losing a loved one. Whether you get into therapy or not. Life might get better but grief doesn't, it's not a character/personality flaw that you can undo or self-help your way out of. You either learn to live with it or you pretend like it's not there.

No. Dyslexia is the difficulty processing, comprehending/understanding information, AND then remembering or implementing what was learned. A symptom or sign of dyslexia is poor reading and writing skills. Even if we still only wrote using pictographs a dyslexic person would still have problems with processing, comprehension, memory, and implementation. So many of us get pretty defensive and combative because the “can’t read or spell” part often lead to being called retarded or slow. My mom was proactive in getting me help (I was also rather quiet), but that didn’t change the cop next door telling my grandma, “I guess they stuck you with the retarded one, huh?”. I’m multilingual, which takes a lot of work, and still as a 40 yr old adult I can read the same page of a book or magazine or email and come away having no idea what I read. Not one word, emotion, or concept will I have of what I just read. It took me 20 years to realize if I am just reading the words individually, and not as a sentence, then I will not be able to read that book, article or email. Sometimes it just me and my head space, but I have a list of authors and genres I don’t read.

Yes, my short term memory uptake is awful. I was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia, and my main hinderance is that often it feels like my brain is going so fast that it doesn’t have time to actually process the information it needs to. I also have an audio processing disorder, so it’s impossible to hone in on one conversation or one reading passage when there are multiple things happening in the background.
@ameliaberthold7375

I have dyslexia and dyscalculia and most people do not understand it at all. We are not stupid or have low intelligence because we struggle with reading, writing, mathematics, and other things like sequencing and processing. I have dyslexia and I have a degree and am doing a masters degree. Things take me longer to learn, read and write, and I often rely on my memory to keep up. I think dyslexic people are fully capable of doing everything we aspire to do in life, as long as we get the right accomodations and support, as well as understanding from other people

That sounds like ADHD, with dyslexia. I have ADHD but am hyperlexic. I have trouble with short term memory, I will space out and have to re-read things, and I have trouble recounting facts/stories accurately. However, I was always way above grade level for reading speed and comprehension. Because of the amount I read, my vocabulary and spelling was also well above grade level. I only say these things as an example of where dyslexia and ADHD diverge in their symptoms/traits.

I have dislexia and it’s not a reading disorder it’s more of a writing and orientation disorder. When I was a kid I would write backwards and I had a problem with writing the correct order of words like I would write all the right words down but they would not be in order. I still have some issues like being 38 and still not being able to distinguish my lefts from my rights. When I’m tired I still mix up words in sentences. I have never had a problem with reading or reading comprehension, I could actually read upside down or sideways and still can. I can read a novel in a night, I’m a pretty fast reader and I started reading extremely early. My Nana tells people I could read at 2 but Nanas exaggerate so I’m not sure it’s true.

I find it so weird she didn’t bring up Paris Hilton as a mogul she looks up to. That’s literally Paris’ brand, hands in a lot of pots and sticks with the ones that work and she does well, as well as being behind the scenes on some

About the pill thing, I will say I relate to that. My grandma had an opioid addiction my entire life, and it's the reason she has dementia now. Ever since I was a kid I was terrified of any kind of pain medication. Antibiotics? Fine with. Vaccines? Absolutely, gimme. But any kind of medication that alters my brain, even though I have depression and anxiety? Terrified. So I do get that. Sometimes people get scared about medical stuff because they've had a bad experience or seen someone who has. And I appreciate how she clarifies she doesn't like pills for her, but understands it helps other people. Still tho, uh. Please get vaccinated. That is where I draw my lil line in the sand.

Yeah I have ADHD and took medication when I was a kid that I didn’t really like. It was a whole thing. For the next 10-15 years I gradually got comfortable taking any kind of medication again. Just like you mentioned I’m not talking vaccines or antibiotics, but specifically pills. Even Paracetamol is something I would have to feel really bad in order to justify taking one.

coming here to say i actually read and owned all three of her books and my mind has erased most of them i guess in an attempt to shield me but i remember that they got progressively more wild and that i absolutely despised them by the end. i’m pretty sure in the whole trilogy there were more comments about her pale skin and the romance grossed me out

I mean, I’m Mexican and I honestly don’t see anything wrong with the whole fence thing. I mean, for one she says ‘fence’ not ‘wall’, and though THE wall was on peoples minds at the time, it was only ever referred to as a wall, I don’t recall anyone ever using the word fence to describe it, not even derogatorily. It seems more a case of hyper vigilance and looking for something to be mad about, tbh.

@AntheanCeilliers
@AntheanCeilliers Жыл бұрын
@@bubbles4897 Pan is included in the bi+ umbrella. It was coined by someone who unfortunately didn't know that bi already included all genders, and some people prefer it -- which is totally cool! But there is no major difference.

@@AntheanCeilliers How does bisexual include all genders? "Bi" literally means two (twice, doubly, on both sides)
@stonecake313
@stonecake313 Жыл бұрын
@@AntheanCeilliers except there are bi ppl who only want to date a man or woman and no-one with identities in between. That’s where pan comes in. U can identify as bi even if u would date anyone, but they aren’t the same thing when there are a subset of bi ppl who don’t fall under pansexual
@AntheanCeilliers
@AntheanCeilliers Жыл бұрын
@Stonecake sure there are people who identify as lots of different things without actually embodying the traditional use of that label, but that doesn't mean they get to redefine it for everyone else. Bisexuality has historically included non-binary people from the start. Go back way before pansexual was coined and bi magazines and political activists were talking about more than two genders. So bi people who don't embody that don't get to redefine it for those of us who do.
