it's funny - but - the older I get the more sensitive I become to the overall "human condition". Putting "Mr. Pepper on the payroll" by Elvis speaks volumes and personally chokes me up. I know that you know it - but - Elvis was sincerely THE KING - of kindness as well! I have long said that this world is in desperate need of the fun, enthusiasm, creativity, and kindness that two special American's brought into this world - Elvis Presley and Walt Disney.

What a fantastic interview; so many interesting (sometimes sad) stories. Along with Elvis, Nancy was a good friend to Gary. And what a remarkable man he was! Just the fact that she made sure his collection was kept safe with her sister for all those years shows what a heart of gold she has. ⚡️

Nancy is so articulate. She tells her stories without umms and uhhhs. The stories run linear, and if she digresses, she goes back and picks up the thread. Easy to listen to. Also love Ashley that you did not overlay background music, and allowed Nancy to unwind her memories without interruptions. 👍 Very powerful to hear that Nash felt Elvis had passed at 11:00am. Since we cannot know otherwise, it is a time I will accept, especially since I too have had unexplained premonitions and feelings that came to fruition. The second broken branch was new news to me. 😯 Lisa stroking Elvis' hair is such a sad, tender image. I think the Chicago auction might have been at Leslie Hindman Galleries auction house? 🤔 Cannot believe that Nancy prevailed and wasn't forced by Gary to get those movie one-sheets! $$$ 😱 As for the abandonment and mental cruelty that Gary suffered, it is heartbreaking to realize that the same and worse goes on every minute to children, the elderly and animals. Thank you to Nancy for taking on Gary's herculean caregiver role. Nancy is a nurse by training and heart. This interview was not long enough for me, but I thank you both for making these precious memories available to us. 🤗 If Nancy has another run of memories hopefully she will contact you again Ashley so that you can work your reporting magic. 👌 Enjoyed this very much. 👋

Wow another great addition to the Gary Pepper story! Thank you! I enjoyed listening this morning to your interview. I shared the last one with a couple of friends. Not only is Gary Pepper a great Elvis story, but there’s so many life lessons to be seen in his life, as well as Elvis’s... and his Mother..... as well as his Father. There’s a lot to be learned from his story in general. There’s a lot to be appreciated. Like the status of Elvis and who he decided to call friend. We need role models like that in 2020. Ones who will befriend a Gary Pepper and not just to blast photos with on Instagram and Facebook. Thanks again and look forward to the next :). Have a good weekend and God bless. -Mr. Dean

It made me cry when she tells how Gary and his mother was found . Help me .... 😭 oh I can barely type. Also it made me so mad knowing that the man nurse at the nursing home was feeding Gary too fast. It makes you wish you could go out in the world and make sure things aren't happening like that to people with cerebral palsy or any kind of health problems. I love how Gary knew to save all of his Elvis memorabilia and ran a fan clue. The good thing now is that Gary is with Jesus. He'll never suffer like that again. Nor will his mother. I did not that Gary and Nacy were there at Elvis' funeral. I never heard about the second tree or that Lisa was stroking Elvis' hair. Those are some new stories too. Thank you Ashley Drew for sharing this amazing story about Gary Peppers. Because of you his life will always be remembered.

Unfortunately we can't but it's a beautiful thought, maybe if we could all play a part and do what we can to change the world, it would be a better place to live. It's so important to be kind and treat other's like they deserve to be treated. I believe Elvis did his part, he was such a beautiful person. Poor Gary, he sure had a hard life, family was not kind to him. So sad. So sad how things went down with his dad passing and his mom going into a manic depression. I hate that he was in that home and treated the way he was, unfortunately that happens quite often even to this day. So glad Nancy stuck it out with him and his mom. She was a God send. She sure has a great memory and didn't hew haw around telling her stories. They just rolled right out of her mouth as smooth as silk. I'm so glad she cleared up a lot of things. Like we all thought Elvis bought the house, and of course what went down with Gary's things that Elvis gave him. I'm glad she had her sister keep them and then was able to sell them so they could be on display somewhere. With both Elvis and Gary gone, it was the right place for them to be I think. I can't even image the funeral stuff. Poor Lisa Marie, that had to leave a mark on her. She was definitely old enough to remember. Lisa fixing her daddy's hair is so sad, she was at a very tender age to go through all that for sure. I have heard the Memphis Mafia Kid and Billy Smith tell that story about the branch falling, a little spooky. I thought Elvis saw Gary more and that Nancy met Elvis because of Elvis wanting someone to help Gary. So much to the story and glad we got it straight from the horses mouth so to speak. Again, Nancy was a God send to Gary and is an amazing woman! Yes, people do get feelings when someone passes, so to have his aunt feel that something was going to happen to Elvis and fell that he passed at 11 am is probably right. I woke in the middle of the night in a panic, knowing something wasn't right with my son...he was on tour in Iraq and that is when he was stabbed in the chest. He was fine because of his gear he had on, but mental he wasn't as he was only 19 and had to go hand to hand combat with the Iraqi that tried to kill him. So I believe Elvis's aunt. I can imagine that Gary was heartbroken when Elvis died. And Nancy, her world changed too. Gary sounded like a very sweet man and I hope he is up in heaven with Elvis and his family, walking and singing with Elvis! Thank you Ashley for getting this documented before Nancy is gone. I love that she talked to you. She was a delight and I loved hearing her tell her stories, going down memory lane. Amazing!

Thank you for watching, Charlene! No, Elvis had nothing to do with Gary's house on Dolan. It was bought by Gary, Nancy and Nancy's mother. After Elvis died, Vernon cut Gary off financially. Eventually him and the residents had nothing to stay there for and couldn't afford it any longer and left
