Excellent video, Ashley. I have been through the mansion quite a few times in my 17 trips to Graceland since 1978 but it still confuses me as to the actual layout. I don't know why! I think I should be free to roam that place by myself! lol Oh, and I'm sure that Elvis is reading MY LETTERS in some of those photos. I wrote to him everyday when he was overseas with the Army, and almost that frequently before and after! I wore a path to my mailbox near my house. I understand Vernon kept all of that mail, so I know there are quite a few of mine somewhere at Graceland.

@@ashleysadventures I was there this last August and AGAIN in February to March this year, thanks to my daughter and granddaughter again, who had to push me a lot of the time in a wheelchair. They told me to be sure I spent time going through the mansion and I didn't feel I could walk back in from when I was out in the raquetball court again. They had said they'd wait in Meditation Garden, but I had overdone it and had to let it go...much to my disappointment. My body is going to be 80 this year, so I'm lucky it's doing as well as it is. Thanks.

Mailman, had never met Elvis. Isn't it funny that somewhere along the line that he would have met him? Funny how fate is. The birdbaths are interesting too Ashley. This was a great multiple topic video, i always wondered about the mail volume especially at Christmas and his birthday, and since I've read that often items sent to him were kept, it must have been a staggering amount. I'm also fascinated with the grounds, mainly the care of and on going maintenance, so pointing out the bird bath was a nice touch. Thank you.

I stumbled on this. I’m a lifelong Elvis fan. Been to Graceland & wow!!! You really do have a great eye. That was very cool I’m a Plumber/heating technician. Yes. The box on the wall looks like a thermostat. Then the round is an updated version. There were probably multiple “zones” today, most ppl do upstairs & downstairs. But I k ow Elvis had 1 in his room as well. I’m sure there are more around. Especially after all the new rooms that were added for all his stuff. But the original house probably had just an up & down (2) thermostats. Great video 👍

It’s a thermostat. Easy to look up. They were always at that level on a wall for easy access and away from doors as the wiring has to be fed through the studs

I love the way you can take/find old photo's of Graceland and dissect them finding all these cool things! Then you compare to newer photos. It's so interesting seeing what used to be at Graceland and what it there now. I always say, you have the best eagle eye when it come to Graceland! The picture with Priscilla at the top of the stairs- wasn’t that area renovated previously? I thought I read a room was expanded, which would explain the railing seemingly out of place. Just wondering

Love these before/after photos. It's the same in most peoples lives seeing things in old photos and knowing they're still around, especially when they date from a great time. I wonder if one of the kitchen jars was broken. Elvis did a lot of alterations to his home, makes me wonder what it would be like now had he still been alive.

Those round gold things on the wall look the old style Honeywell wall thermostats. Maybe back then they needed more than one to keep the temperature steady throughout Graceland and now they can do it with just one that's placed somewhere out of view and that would explain why they are no longer on walls. Just a thought but idk.

I think the round thing in the dining room and at the top of the stairs in the weird spot (I admit) is a thermostat from the 1980’s. I’m not sure if these were around in the 1970’s because I wasn’t born until 1982, but I do know they were around by 1985. My parents built a house that year and from then until they could no longer get replacements after 2005 these were in our house. I know it was that year because my husband and I lived there the first year we were married. My husband thought they were part of my parent’s 1980s/1990s time warp. I’m guessing these were added to update the heating system when Graceland opened to the public.
