Love their music. A really underrated band that people dont appreciate enough

As an Irish millennial I’m shocked that this band don’t have more views. It felt like they were permanently on the radio in the late 90’s/early 2000’s

Candy, such a joy to me Inner city nights, I cannot sleep Oh candy, sweetest remedy Only you can ease my troubled dreams Angel, all people are the same Caught up in bitterness and blame Oh candy, on dark and lonely days I hear your voice whispering my name Don't you know it's alright to be alone You can make it on your own Don't you know it's alright to be alone You can make it on your own Angel of the summer stars I will always see you safe from harm Candy, we'll never be apart Night and day you're constant in my heart Don't you know it's alright to be alone You can make it on your own, yeah Don't you know it's alright to be alone You can make it on your own Oh candy, my dreams Oh candy, my dreams Oh candy, my dreams Oh candy Candy, pure as driven snow Come to me, you are not alone Oh candy, you're everything to me You and I will always be free Don't you know it's alright to be alone You can make it on your own yeah Don't you know it's alright to be alone You can make it on your own It's alright to be alone Don't you know it's alright to be alone You can make it on your own yeah Don't you know it's alright to be alone You can make it on your own yeah Don't you know it's alright to be alone You can make it on your own yeah It's alright to be alone You can make it on your own yeah It's alright to be alone You can make it on your own yeah It's alright to be alone You can make it on your own yeah

IIRC this album was a gamble as they were close to bankruptcy and needed "angels" to sell, Charlotte's influence was present here and they went down the more pop route and it worked. I might be wrong as it was nearly 20 years ago.

Tim had a bit of writer's block and Nu-Clear sounds was a commercial flop after 1977. Tim went back to Downpatrick and wrote a banger of an album, including an Ivor Novella award for the single, "Shining Light."

i know. ash is an incredible band as that album was one of the records i listened to constantly in my early 20s when it first came out. i still think it's a great album. instead, people are listening to shit like twenty one pilots and nickelturd. what is wrong with them?
@seagreentangerine20654 жыл бұрын
💯 It's because commercial radio is now run by how much money the record label pay the Radio station to feature them... Yes, used to be the other way around! Newspapers and Magazines are the same. You now have PAY the mag for the front cover, hence the reason sub standard singers etc get way more exposure than they should.

Does anyone else hear what sounds like the backing track to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg "Still D.R.E" in this song? Sounds like a harpsichord plucking or something?

well, it's a sample of a song from burt bacharach that dr. dre also sampled.

@olliebeck29524 жыл бұрын
@Adam H my thoughts exactly. Sounds very similar. Scott Storch came up with Still D.R.E backing track, original piece of music. He's a very famous record producer from the early 2000s.
