Swelling looks badddd 😟 I'm amazed you managed to carry on, think I actually would have cried & gone home haha. Hi Ash, as a Physio I've treated several patients who try to change to barefeet Vibrams or any flatfoot shoes/boots. They can cause ankle tendon/achilles problems due to no heel lift. Not really a surprise if you think how long all of us have been wearing heeled boot/shoes and then some marketing person tells us these are better... Not always, plus the toes working more independently? I commend your will power.
@AshOutdoorsUK3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike, yeah I’ve transitioned to them over the past 7/8 years for my running and thought I’d be conditioned to used them. The impact on the sole of the feet became too much, think that’s why the swelled up! Thanks for watching Ash

Alright mate, mint vids! AM I right in thinking you got the lakes section done in the 3 days? I'm aiming for a 10 day crossing in July and it's really only the lakes section planning that I'm trying to suss out.
@AshOutdoorsUK3 жыл бұрын
Hi Daz! Yes, got to the pub in Shap by the end of day three. Are you camping or staying in b&b’s? It’s a great walk, sure you’ll love it! Thanks for watching mate Ash

@@AshOutdoorsUK camping as much as poss, definitely the lakes section and will probably treat myself in Kirkby - strong effort getting that section done in the 3 mate, it's the only bit that's got me worried for losing time on haha

@@daz_on_earth cheers pal, I’m doing the Cambrian way in a few months, I’ve allowed 14 days and it’s nearly 100 miles longer? 😬 I need to get training! Enjoy the c2c 👌🏼

Those feet don't look like fun. You've gone full Garbage Pail Kid ;) What date were you at Angle Tarn? I finished my Pennine Bridleway ride with a loop up there from Penrith on May 1st - the first part was all bridleway, the second half was pure mistake, that trail is definitely not meant for bikes!
@AshOutdoorsUK3 жыл бұрын
Hello mate, I had to google garbage pail kid lol, and can’t even remember the date, lol, 3 weeks ago yesterday I believe Hope all is well with you mate. Ash

When i saw you wearing the vibrams at the set off i thought they was not a good choice. Some lovely views although i think it would be better without your feet in the shot 🤣🤣 tent choice could of been better like you say the msr . Well done pushing on though even though you started to look like the Michelin man 😂

Lol, thanks Paul, yeah I’m one of those people who if someone says I can’t do something I want to go out and do it, like walk across the country in silly shoes 😂 well at least I got half way in them 😂 Thanks for watching mate Ash

With those feet and knee Ash it's most reasonable to rest up along the way. You did well and wined not at all. Just spoke objectively. Well done. Enjoyed end to end. Mark

Thanks mark, I did one more day after this and then had a couple where I only did like a mile! Really needed the rest! Thanks buddy Ash

@@AshOutdoorsUK That's OK Ash - it was good mate. There was drama. Wow, hard going it sounds. I'll be tuning in.

Loved this Ash. I would love to do something like that. Seeing content like this is a real motivator and I'm so grateful to you and all the outdoors people for sharing content that inspires people. I hope my content can do the same. Interestingly, I saw an ad on Instagram for Barefoot hiking boots and I was quite intrigued, then I read through some of the comments! I'm looking forward to watching your next videos and seeing how it goes when the weekend comes. Do I binge watch it all now and keep procrastinating on my work, or save it for later ... ? We'll shall see!
