probs a bit late for advice now but if your feet are 'on fire' or tender, it helps to elevate your feet when you stop, especially if it's a temporary stop & you've still got a fair way to go. 😬👍

Love Ennerdale, only 10 mins drive from where I live. Totally correct about the climate - the coast is dryer than you might expect for The Lakes as the prevailing clouds need to be pushed up by the mountains to cool and then to rain. Walked round Ennerdale where the West end is dry and bright but the East end is raining as you move into the mountains. Doing C2C in Sept 22 so watching videos to get an idea of the problems. When traversing Ennerdale, the south side route you did - shorter but technically more difficult - 1 scramble and uneven ground - the north side - longer but good flat paths and forestry trails.

I did the same thing in 2014, 13 days and 12 nights wild camping. Carried everything i needed and got supplies in the little villages I passed through. By day 3 i found Wainwrights pocket guide so accurate I posted my maps back home to save some weight (I'm a traditional map and compass guy). Raised monies for the Alzheimer's Society. It was a hard slog so I feel your pain, I loved every min of it (Apart from one night Camping in the old mines in Gunnerside Beck, swear down its haunted, couldn't pack up and leave fast enough at day break) and made some good friends including two young lads from America that made the trip over just to do the CtoC. Great vid, brought back some great memories.

Surprised more people don't use sleeping bags as quilts. I started doing it so my dog could get under on an unexpectedly cold Dartmoor camp. I added a hot liner to a three season bag, Bear already has a good layer of insulation, so we are good for 4 season.

Stellar effort Ash lad! Spent a lot of time in that area in my younger years, the views are always well worth the effort. Bet you were stoked with your decision to press on from the shack and pitch up at the waters edge! Looking forward to part 2!
