We’re back on the trail as coronavirus put paid to our plans this spring. We make up for a bit of lost ground by tackling it with a two day hike and a wild camp in a field just above Llanbister Road station. We’re both out of shape and today’s route had a few surprises in store but as usual the Mid-Wales scenery doesn’t disappoint.
The second part (to floor) takes up up early in the morning on what turned our to be the hottest day of the year down into Penybont for a well earned pint!
We intend to tackle the whole route over the course of the year and will make these videos as we go to hopefully encourage others to do the same.
This is a new walking trail that utilises the beautiful single-track railway route that runs from Shrewsbury all the way down to Swansea. The trail officially starts at Craven Arms and is 144 miles long to Llanelli in South Wales.

Please visit the Heart of Wales Line Trail website for more information. www.heart-of-w...
They also have a facebook group for the trail which you can join: / heartofwaleslinetrail
There you can download the GPX files for your navigation device. My preferred method is to use an app called Viewranger which you can download onto your phone and the route is also available on there.
