Guys!!! This might help some of you!!! When my Dad noticed my binder in the wash I told him it was an undershirt! He never questioned me after that! Just a tight undershirt, they’ll never know the difference!

Actually, if you bind with a very comfy binder, such as gc2b, a size larger than you need you wont get ANY discomfort during exercise. Trust me, i had to take some pe probes and did 30 abdomens, no biggie for my ribs lol (and it says this on the card that the binder comes with too, and for swimming goes the same)

Ashton Daniel you replied yay💗💗🌈 and yes, they've added another one (idk why, i got 2 binders(first one the wrong size oops)2 weeks apart and one had one card and the second one had 2, one on which it says that :)) ) and it also says to dry it over night and use the hair dryer for 8-15 minutes to tighten it if you want 💗

The way I usually bind is just by wearing a /slightly/ too small (never too tight cuz ya know, rib breakage) one-peice swimsuit. It flattens my chest (and stomach) really nicely and also kind of gives my butt a more masculine shape. I don't know if it's like that for other people that bind this way but i really like it :) Also, roomates/family members are much less likely to question a swimsuit than a binder. Hope this helps fellow FTM people out there :)

Not trans, but might I suggest a competition-style swimsuit? Speedo or TYR are really good. Anyway, competitive swimsuits are more compressing than regular suits, seeing as they’re meant to be tight and slimming and smooth (aerodynamics are important for speed) but do no harm, since, yanno, it’d be bad if they did. Many people who swim competitively also sometimes train in more than one suit (for extra drag, but unimportant right now) and if chest size is a problem, that could help. Comp-style suits also tend to last longer than regular ones because they’re made to take the abuse of one hour minimum of swimming in ridiculously chlorinated pools (that wear down the elastic in regular swimsuits like nobody’s business) every day and longer for the more dedicated folk. A decent ($30 ish if it’s on sale) suit will last a good three or four years- I wore the same suit from fourth to sixth grade and the only reason I stopped was because it’d gotten way too small. They are a bit uncomfortable when dry and worn for several hours, but a too-small suit would probably do the same, so it shouldn’t be too much more of a bother, unless money or circumstance makes it so. Hope that helps!

The trans flag has white in the middle to stand in for any gender identity. 🏳️‍⚧️ So I consider being non-binary a form of transness. I am NB myself and biologically fem, so my gender identity doesn't match my biological sex, textbook transgender.

1) Don't do PE in a tight binder, or don't use a binder to exercise. You can really hurt yourself if you do. They say use a binder that's a size or two bigger to exercise in. 2) Bring your binder as well as a sports bra and change in the bathroom stalls between classes. 3) Make sure you're SAFELY binding... And make sure you're taking good care of your binders. If your binder is making you uncomfortable, TAKE IT OFF. If you need to still wear something, wear your sports bra. You aren't supposed to wear a binder more than 8 hours.

This is really helpful. Thankfully, while my dad doesn't seem to support me being trans, my mother is and she's helping me transition. She's letting me even buy a binder, and I looked this up to find out what I should know before I start binding my chest, like the safety rules since I wanna make it to when I'm able to finally afford top surgery, and then eventually bottom surgery as well. Only thing I think my mom doesn't fully understand, cause she said I used to be her most feminine but I kinda thought I had to like skirts and shit and then I stumbled along trans, I stopped wearing skirts all together, and while I still wear shorts I wear longer shorts. I can't wait to go wardrobe shopping! I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere. Also, i relate to having a chest on the bigger side. Some say we're "blessed" but it's really just a curse. I unfortunately got a DD size...hopefully I got the right size binder cause the one I got was a little over 30 bucks which to my family is expensive...

i wouldn't worry about it too much if you only bind once a week - i've been binding for like 9 hours a day every day for almost two years (which i really wouldn't recommend) and i haven't noticed any difference in how anything feels or looks. i guess i depends on your binder and how tight it is. anyway, bind safely :)

I'm wearing a gc2b binder in my size and it's barely 6 months old, I wash it in the sink and air dry it but it's baggy for some reason. It's tight at my ribs but it is baggy at my chest and comes down lower than it does for you and other trans men I've seen. People always say don't size down on binders but for some reason my binder isn't working well and I don't know what I'm doing wrong

I’ve tried binding with pretty much anything-the tank top and sports method, masking tape (it stuck to my peach fuzz and it was just uncomfortable), scarf (my friend said they do this sometimes home alone, but the material is a bit course and bulky), but mostly I just use sports. I think minus the bulkiness, scarf is the best option but it’d be kinda hard to a)explain the bulkiness and b)why you’re wearing a scarf like that

Hey i know I’m pretty late but I’m the description he put some links that take you to websites where you can “sign up” to receive a binder for free if you don’t have to money or can’t get one safely. And if you can’t get it delivered to your house you can put a friend’s house address where they can mail the package then your friend can give it to you. Hope this helps somehow?

Troy M. I play sousaphone in marching band and it takes up a LOT of my time. In total, I’m probably at band 25-30 hours a week, and that’s on top of the 8 or 9 hours I spend binding at school everyday (because of this, Sunday is my break from binding every week). My only binder, however, is pretty worn out from wearing it everyday for 7 months, so it allows me a little extra room to breathe. But if me, an out of shape freshman with short legs, can march a very fast, 8.5 minute show with a 40 lb instrument and manage to breathe fine the majority of the time, you should probably be ok as long as your binder isn’t super super tight.

i'm a first chair flute and never bind during marching band. but my practices are intense on physical activity and are 4-12 hours which is way too much for me. with physical activity, heat, and having to use your lungs intensely, i wouldn't recommend it. i'd definitely advise against it to be on the safer side, but in the end it's your decision.

For people considering free binders from point of pride, etc I really recommend checking out the DCATS binder exchange program. It is sponsored by GC2B and once you submit an application it takes about a month for it to be approved and shortly after that your binder ships, it only takes about 4 days. That’s where I got my white GC2B half tank binder. Point of Pride, FTM essentials, etc take quite a long time to even get approved, let alone actually getting the binder. I thought I would throw that out there, because the DCATS binder exchange doesn’t get enough attention and they are really useful when you need a binder quick :)

I'm a cis woman, but I'm uncomfortable with my breast size (28G) and a couple friends of mine who are nonbinary suggested I give binding a try. You seem very knowledgeable so hopefully you or someone here would be willing to explain stuff to me, but of course I'm not the target audience of this video so I totally understand if you don't want to! Basically my question is I don't understand how it would be physically possible at my chest size. I can't even wear ordinary compression sports bras because if I get them to match my breasts, the elastic doesn't touch my ribcage, and if I get them to match my ribcage my breasts explode out the top - when I work out I have to wear a super heavy-duty encapsulation-type sports bra (Panache Sport, if you're curious). I also can't wear any bra that makes my breasts touch each other, and I can't go without a bra (even to sleep) and let my breasts touch my chest, because I'm highly prone to fungal infections if my breasts get sweaty. So I'd like to know 1) if binding would be possible for me, 2) if you agree with my friends who suggested I try it, and 3) if I do try it, how much money and effort I should expect to put in before deciding whether I like it or not. Whether you reply or not, thank you for this video - one of the friends who suggested binding told me they use an ace bandage for cosplay and suggested I try that first, and now I know not to do that!

Ive never used K2 tape but Ive heard because It lasts for a few days to a week and when you take it off, It will take of skin so bacteria will build up and cause infections and sore parts of your chest that will prevent binding for a short amount of time.

My advice is to go to Walmart whenever you can and buy a Visa gift card or something like that if you don't have your own, and to just buy one online. If the people you live with open packages and stuff then you can ask a friend if you can send it to their house or just make sure you're at your house when it arrives so that your parents or whoever doesn't get to it first.

I have a few questions, so just this night my mom was trying to take my binder away, I sobbed and begged her until we made a compromise for me to wear a binder every other day except for weekends, I agreed, is there any sports bras that anyone knows about that do close to the same thing as chest binders?I would love to know what type of brand and where to buy it. I know it's a bit petty to ask for help on KZbin but honestly I don't know where to go.

I made the mistake of not measuring myself properly for my first binder and got it too small. I didn't really take breaks either so one Day I was struggling to breath and my chest was in pain during a school event. So I definitely recommend measuring yourself and its better to go a size up then a size down. Also went I got a binder in the right size a kind lady gave them to me off Instagram 😁

Recommended time to use binders : ( my experience and knowledge but uh, I'm not like the NOST RELIABLE source of information this is just my opinion ) Sleep with a binder? No, ( it's pretty bad too wear a binder to much) If you dont like your chest then during school you can cover it but if you dont sit with anybody during rules, then at lunch maybe go to the bathroom and change from a binder ( it's not very good to wear it all the time ) so if you use it during school that fone but if you are on at home with nobody there then I personally recommend not wearing it then because nobody will see and if you really feel uncomfortable then I am not exactly sure how that would work but I simply would recommend wearing your binder only when you feel necessary ( bedtime isnt a time for you to bind but I apologise for that, it's just not great at all ).

A great tip for the more active trans guys: get a binder that's a size larger than what flattens your chest (maybe two sizes up depending on the person and activities). It's much safer and helps ease dysphoria. As long as it is large enough on you that it doesn't hurt you, you can sleep in it, exercise in it, and (very carefully) swim in it!

i really want a binder but i have no idea how to ask for one (i really don’t have a preference for pronouns and i don’t have major dysphoria or anything like that, i’d just really prefer to have a flat chest and to look more gender neutral) i like to think that my parents are supportive and kind so they wouldn’t outright say no or freak out. they were ok with me not being straight and when i experimented with gender in the past, my mom actually kept note of that (there’s a bigger story behind that but i won’t bore y’all) so i don’t think they’d be mean about it or anything. i’m just scared of my parents (i’m most likely going to ask my mom) being like, what do you need that for? and questioning me in other ways (i have anxiety and gosh i don’t want to be interrogated when i’m already nervous). they’re like, 30+ dollars and all so i’m a bit scared about asking for something that pricey (i already cut my hair super short during the quarantine. again, i would rather not get interrogated on if i’m having a gender crisis) if anyone has any tips or tricks i would appreciate them so very much

(Context: I'm a demigirl) I use K.T tape for a chronic injury and did once try it for, not binding, but bra-less bra (just holding them up) and I don't recommend it for breasts. The skin in this area and breast tissue are VERY delicate and K.T tape, while being skin-safe for most areas that are muscle heavy, is not really safe for areas that are fat-heavy (breasts and butt). It irritated my skin in a way it never did to my ankle and removal is worse than a band-aid unless you soak it all the way through to the point it starts to peel on its own. Even wet when I took the K.T tape off my breasts there were small patches where skin had been torn off. There is a brand called Trans Tape that is intended for this area of the body.
