They really didn't understand that one, since I had told them a pay phone needed a quarter before, so why was I suddenly changing it to a dime?? Kids...or me, being so old....lol.

Years ago, before this song was out, I was watching a country music awards show when one of the scheduled performers had some kind of problem and couldn’t perform. Travis, got up in front of the country music giants in the hall and a national television audience and played his new hit Anymore, with just him and his flat top guitar. The live version of "Anymore" from Live & Kicking is one of my all time favorite music videos in any genre of music. Travis Tritt, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Dwight Yoakam, those guys are the artists that made me open my eyes and ears and realize there's more than just Metal. The Navy sending this Yankee to a homeport in Gulfport, MS turned out to be a blessing I'm genuinely thankful for still to this day, even though it sure has been a lot of years since I left and went back North.

Back when this song came out, the cost of a phone call on a payphone (no cell phones back then) was 25 cents. People would throw quarters at the stage when he would do it live so I think he dropped it from his live repertoire. I saw him live several times and he's amazing! He has some very good tearjerkers, too if you're interested check out "Anymore".

Travis Tritt has SO MANY great songs. "Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde", "Great Day to be Alive", "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" are just a start. Funny how the telephone marks the time of the song. There are several about using a quarter to make a call. (26 cents by the Wilkerson's). There are older ones about dimes. Little Old Dime by Jim Reeves.
