Chaka Khan's "I feel for you" is originally a Prince song. Claude Nougaro was influenced by "Ain't nobody" when he wrote "Lady Liberty". The overall production of this song (feat Nile Rodgrs from Chic) is insane. He's even calling her for help in the song "Rhythm' flouze".

I'm an 80s child! This is my favorite song from her. I loved the movie from the 80s titled "Breakin'". This was the song from the "Love connection scene". Song is amazing ...her voice is amazimg..she is amazing...loved the movie. "I FEEL FOR YOU" is another fav. Chaka, 5 decades. Windy city girl. Confession: never missed a live show. Me & my lady have front row center seats. I bought Chaka a dozen roses to give to her. My lady saw them in the back seat and said " Aww , thank you".( What could I say). I had to buy twelve single roses from a vendor. My woman asked do you want Chaka? I was in boot camp when I first heard this song. It had just been released. I had guard watch one night in August 1983 and 1st time hearing it thru the drill instructors door in the barracks in San Diego CA. Drill instructor had the radio on. I knew it was chaka khan before the song ended but the dj hadn't verified it yet. I Was already a fan after Tell me something good. Ain't nobody was written by David Hawk Wolinzky and was on the last Rufus featuring Chaka khan live album. It's still holds incredible after all this time. Not about hate and killing like what you hear now. The new music today can't hold a candle to the 70s and 80s music. Just saying 😌

I can remember this song from the soundtrack for the movie “Breakdance”, although I think it was called Breakin’ in the US in the early 80’s (‘84 if I recall correctly). It was the movie that had a scene that featured a very young Jean Claude Van Damme, but you had to look very carefully to spot him ☝️😄. Chaka is a soul legend & this is one of her best ever songs ✊️😄

You should have been in the club scene in the Village NYC circa 1976-1982. Paradise Garage and Larry Levan the Godfather of ALL TODAY'S DJs. All of them wanted to play like Larry. The Garage had speakers designed by Larry and Richard Long (R.I.P. for both of them) Larry had an ear and knew just where to place them. Honey, this song. Those speakers O.M.G The bass went through your whole body like a heartbeat and those speakers did justice to this song. Sorry for the seque, just listening to this song brings me back to those days when I was so young and dancing 12pm to 12am at the Paradise Garage

The first time I had the fortune to see Chaka Khan she was only about 19 - this song was not part of her arsenal - and I was lucky to see her do her first tour - standing just a few feet from the revolving stage at the Circle Star Theatre. Her band Rufus was totally on spot, her voice was so soulful, smooth and pierced the air. It was easy to see why she has since had a stellar career - and I'm also not surprised she can sing the song book in many musical genres.
