The government decided to deport him back to Jamaica from 2014 till 2019, until his papers were fully sorted out. There's a story where they did give him a way out but he had to snitch on another UK artist which he did not.

I think you seen more of Dave's happy vibing tracks before realising how raw he was. The stuff you've mostly checked out is his newer vibes and this here represents how most of know off Dave. The more later stuff in his career just shows how accomplished he has become and how his success has allowed him to see the positivity in life. But no doubt he's still raw and real as always. Even though you might say he's commercial now, even then his level of commercial is different than the typical commercial artists out there. You can just tell even in his new tracks. The guy produces and helps direct most of his own stuff too. Have you checked out Funky Friday ft Fredo? That's another vibing track he produced.

Yeah you’re right. I think it wasn’t the lyrics that made this popular but the delivery, the emotion he brought to the surface throughout the freestyle. FYI his brothers case was on the news and is all on google. I can’t remember details but i know there was HELLA people involved in one murder, one of them being Daves older brother. He’s had a lot of mainstream criticism for speaking on his brothers case which involves a murder made public, some backlash even coming from this freestyle i think? It’s great to see a young black artist grow from talking about this type of pain in his life to then growing his platform to a huge UK performance stage like the Brits and talking about Black historically racial Issues while alot of other young black artists his age continue to make content on murdering, stealing, drug dealing and the same old same old of this era and unfortunately these people are of every race.. You guys over there have the exact same layout with people like J Cole, Kendrick opposed to what.. the whole drill scene? And movement that came out of Chicago and literally became a scene in all parts of the world? We need to celebrate young people like Dave as a role model for the kids trying to succeed from low income, broken families✌🏻
