@@pamelajordan2890 I started my career as a concert ticket scalper in 1974 when I was 12. My mother busted me when I told her I was going to a Metrochurch function when I really went to a KISS concert. No believable lie could explain my clothes soaked in cigarette smoke. My mother had been a concert goer in the 50's, living a mile away from the Louisiana Hayride, a concert venue that hosted every major music act in the country. She knew Elvis because one of her friends dated him when he was a truck driver in Bossier City . Anyway, she said she would take me to buy concert tickets and go to the show so long as I didn't lie to her anymore. She forged a doctor's appointment to get me out of school when tickets went on sale. In those days you could buy up to 20 tickets at a time so I made bank until high school graduation AND was able to see amazing concerts with musical talent we'll probably never see again. My mother was one in a billion.

Nice ... I saw her in 1976 at the Universal Amphitheater in L.A.. To this day the best concert I've ever been to. Asked my friend to go, but they said, what ... Linda Ronstadt, nooo ! I told then to go F*ck themselves and went alone, ha, I won and they lost :) ! Best singer ever, IMHO !

Linda could sing anything, and she did. No genre was out of bounds. Rock, opera, country, blues, jazz. She covered it all. She had a deep musical background and was highly respected by all the musicians she ever worked with. Now, wheelchair bound, because of a crippling degenerative disease, she has all of that glorious body of work to be appreciated by a whole new generation of listeners. She will forever be remembered as one of the true greats! ❤

I agree. What makes this song great is the tone on the guitar and the riff being played. If you are going to play this song live, you need to duplicate the sound on the recording. This guy on guitar is not even trying. He's just playing a standard country/rock doodle.

She is one of my favorite performers The Eagles used to be her back up band, and she was partially responsible for getting them together She's from Tucson Arizona, and she's getting all kinds of honors in that city She stopped singing a few years ago due to an illness, but she's still hanging in there I'd like to suggest a song by Sister Sledge titled Easier To Love! That song is especially prevelant in these times Listen to the lyrics, even if you don't react to it The horrors that are taking place worldwide is sad and heart breaking Everyone, just be kind to one another, and I don't care if I get a hearted like, or thumbs up from other subs, just listen to the message and act with compassion and empathy, before God aka The Universe takes it all away!

She wasn't bound by what was popular or could make her the most money. She sang what she liked and what interested and challenged her. She's literally my mentor! Love the power of not just living the music you sing, but feeling it is what gives her power in this song. The verse where she sings " I broke a heart, who's gentle and true. Well I broke a heart over someone like you. I'll beg His forgiveness on bended knee...I wouldn't blame Him if he said to me you're no good! This verse She's literally humbling herself to the Most High God and that's the clear beauty in this testimony! Rock on Linda, even if she thinks she can't any longer sing, because of her disability. I'm sure she still has the gift of singing in her soul and I'm praying with her 🙏🏼 ❤️ thanks for loving her 💕 and I'm subbed to this channel 💖 now.

I love the suggestions here, and would like to add some more. “Down So Low” and “Try Me Again”. Then from later in her career, she worked with band leader Nelson Riddle to perform the standards of the 1930’s, 1940’s, and 1950’s. My favorite from her first album with him is “Someone to Watch Over Me”. It really displays the richness of her voice. And I love when Linda does these songs; she includes the verse, which is basically the lyrics that set up the rest of the song. Many artists don’t include the verse.

Great reaction guys. Linda has catalogue that includes country, pop, rock, operetta and Mexican music. It would be worth checking out her Mexican videos I saw Linda in the Pirates Of Penzance.

The guitar solo is Andrew Gold, he sang Lonely Boy but likely know him from Thank You for Being a Friend, Golden Girls theme song. He worked with Cher, James Taylor, Eagles, Freddie Mercury, Celine Dion, Jackson Brown, etc. RIP.

This was great..! But the studio version is so clean....! Linda inadvertently put the Eagles together.... Glenn and Don was in her band and suggested Bernie to them...

My favorite female artist of all time. She always delivers. Studio, live, rock, country, Spanish, English. She's a God given talent for real.

Probably the top female rock singer of the 70s. Ann Wilson's right there too. The guitar player has quite a story too. Had a hit of his own and died young. Andrew Gold.

I have discovered that your reactions to us older people's music, have reminded me of so much music from my life, Our generation, 60s 70s 80s , it was hard to keep up with all the music, You would have had to have a trailer behind your vehicle to keep all the 8 tracks, then cassettes, to hear the music, Television performances I thought were one and done, are on KZbin, lol. I raised my girls on one TV channel with rabbit ears, no video games, I didn't mind the. Playing them at their friends house, but at home they had horses and their animals, But we had friends make vhs tapes of the music videos channels for home, I enjoy your channel 😂

This performance was in a mens prison around 1977 in Tennessee. Johnny Cash played a concert there and invited some singers including Linda Ronstadt.

Linda is from Tucson, AZ. Way back when before she first made it with the Stone Ponys and well into the 1980s she was known as the "Barefoot Princess". Real hippy chick musician.

Had such a crush on her when I was young. No genre she couldn't sing. This is my favorite song and the sexy growls and power are still beautiful. And Andrew Gold on guitar, who helped produce and played on the studio album.
