I just read this and it’s absolutely dead on. I’ll add one thing though. Pantera saw their fans as extended family and treated everyone they met and every show as such. True showmen who weren’t wrapped up with fame and accolades. They were 💯 raw emotion on stage and the fans reaction directly effected the show.

Great reaction you guys. Pantera was a fantastic band. Dimebag Darrell was a metal god playing guitar. The unbelievably sad and tragic thing was he was murdered on stage in 2004 by a deranged "fan" Pantera had broken up years earlier, and he and his brother Vinnie Paul (drummer) started a new band together named Damage Plan. They were promoting their new album and were playing in a small club in Ohio when the tragedy happened. The psycho got up on stage and murdered Dimebag and others because he was allegedly upset that Pantera broke up. Vinnie Paul saw the whole thing happen, can you imagine seeing your own brother killed in front of your eyes? just awful and heartbreaking. Vinnie Paul has since passed away, he died in 2018. Pantera's music will live on forever, and so will the Abbott brothers R.I.P. from Dallas Texas. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶

This show was in Moscow, the mosh pit was not allowed. Communist Russia. The patrons were beaten if they moshed. This was right after the fall of the Soviet Union.

Pantera came on the scene and started to take it to Metallica when they where starting to lose their edge and try to appeal to the grunge/alternative kids.

Pantera will NEVER hold a candle to Metallica. Also, Metallica has NEVER made grunge/alternative music. Every album was straight up American Hard Rock and nothing else.

@@neillscott4192 your wrong "Load" was self proclaimed as alternative by the band themselves. Load, Re-Load and St. Anger all sucked.

It's nice to see this genre finally getting the recognition answering many questions as to why it was so popular when at the time the fans were labeled miscreants and many parents burned/confiscated albums so many teens treasured because they couldn't look past appearance and the "parental advisory sticker".
