The Three Peaks Challenge in England’s northern county of Yorkshire (英國約克郡三峰遠足挑戰) is one of the UK’s ultimate hiking tests and one that I’ve been wanting to try for many years. So on my recent trip back to England I decided to give it a go.

Hike map:

Hike info:
I parked at Chapel-le-Dale and walked anticlockwise scaling Ingleborough, Pen-y-ghent and then Whernside.
But there are several options on where to start from.

Transport info:
Driving is the most convenient transport option, but if you don’t have your own vehicle then the Settle-Carlisle Railway is the next best option.
There are stations at Horton-in Ribblesdale and Ribblehead which lie directly on the trail.

Accommodation:
There is a range of accommodation options in the area including the campsite where I stayed in nearby Ingleton.

24miles under 12 hours is very fast pace. I walked from Kovan to Ikea Tampines and back, which is around 16km, that took me about 6 hours, and I could barely continue any further. (For those who think distance travelled can be multiply in linear, you can't)

跟台灣山很不一樣,較為平緩無樹林遮擋,風大視野遼闊,不走步道走直線也不會迷路👍👍

Well done mate, I often walk and run on the grass, to save the old leg bones from damage. Nice scenery even with the mist. See you next week. Over and out👍😁😁

Thank you for the interesting drone views of the limestone hills! We loved to hike in the Yorkshire Dales as international students in the 1990s. Revisited Malham Cove in Dec 2015.

Morning Richard, what a wonderful journey of rolling hills and dry stone walls, in quintessential James Herriot country. Followed by a lunch of hearty pub sandwich, washed down with a pint of local brew. What else could a man asked for???

Nice video. Maybe a pair of proper hiking shoes than New Balance suits better for the challenge. Also a question occurs to me that why are these passages/trails are gated? Are they prively owned or for what purpose?

Very good Richard , what a tough walk up and down dales . The only challenge i could do is a 3 piece feed from KFC , i'm done with long and tedious hikes being 69 but i can ride that far on my E-bike . I hope all is well in Taiwan with the China problems when you get back if your not already back :-)
