Congrats on 1k subs , you deserve it . Hope you get 100k soon. Btw flowerhorn hehehe would love to see how he behaves , specially with small fishes . My flowerhorn use to massacare small small fishes. Also wouldn’t be your tank overcrowded by now . It’s 50 gallon right . You would need tank upgrade soon .Coz flowerhorn May grow upto 15 inches . Heheh definitely controversial. Btw I have not watch full video .Cant’t stop myself before commenting. Heheh congrats on flowerhorn and 1k subs .Edited : btw flowerhorn fits the bill if anyone watched turtle tankmate video . As flowerhorn is more active than oscar and bass or pleco (Damn this comment too would be controversial lol)

i need advice buddy. I did a big mistake 3 days ago when i changed water for my arowana tank almost 60% after he was recovered from worms damage on his fins. After refilling the tank, i saw the moment of the aro became quite unnatural and slow. I waited for couple of hours an a day to be normal but it didnt. I contacted couple of friends and they told it might have happened due to filling the tap water which is hot as summer in dubai is pretty hot and he might have got a water shock. After 2 days, i am seeing the body is a bit tilted from the center and the moment is still very slow. He is not eating at all, i have reduced the water level to 50%, added some aquarium salt but i cannot see any improvement. I fear for this life, please advice what should i do to save him.
@SGBeardedAquarist4 жыл бұрын
The most inportant question is did you remember to add dechlorinator?
@shabuddinsayyed96174 жыл бұрын
SG Bearded Aquarist no, i didnt add. I just add 2-3 spoons of aquarium salt
@SGBeardedAquarist4 жыл бұрын
I'll assume your water source has chlorine in there and thats probably the reason. You need to add a dechlorinator. Where was the original of the arowana tank from? Straight out if the same tap?

Would you mind telling me more about the ecosystem in the combo tank in the beginning of the tour? I would like to get my hands on this when I return to SG. Is it the substrate that creates this system? I keep fish but I also keep different species of newts. I believe that this system would be very beneficial to my newts. Thanks in advance.
@SGBeardedAquarist5 жыл бұрын
Yeah its to do with the sand in the substrate. I cant personally vouch for its effective as ive not done much research about it or tried it before. However I do know that if you have a deep sand substrate (usually minimum 6 inch deep i believe) you can actually create this ecosystem as well because denitrifying bacteria would be able to colonize the area due to the lack of oxygen.
@LauranceTanza5 жыл бұрын
SG Bearded Aquarist ,Thank you for info. I think have achieved the level of ecosystem as my tanks have been heavily planted for many years. I was just curious if there was a product that they sell that could achieve this sooner, like specialized substrate or something.

When it comes to Monster fish basically decorations are just things that are in their way or can hurt them. The fish don't even care when they are 2 ' 3' or so. Food,clean water and a strong current are what they require. When you get to 10,000 gallons and 2' fish? Sure..logs and smooth rocks are fine.

I Like different varieties of Gold Fish, I Love Asian Arowana , Japanese Koi, Oscars . The fishes I hate are common plecos , Catfish varieties , lung fish , eals, snake heads etc. Armored catfish known as plecos are disastrous if you release them in wild they mate rapidly and dig deep in sand and rock to lay eggs while mating plecos are ugly when they grow larger, snake heads , catfish varieties even gold fish are disastrous if released in wild.

@SGBeardedAquarist5 жыл бұрын
Hey man. They are legal in sg. They just have to be tagged and certified to be bred and raised in a cites approved farm. From my personal conversation with yap the owner, he goes to the fish farms in kalimantan to source the fishes and not actually from the rivers. He visits the rivers sometimes as a faster means to travel or for sight seeing i believe. All his arowanas are microchipped.
