Looks so good! Definitely gonna try this one! We also make ours very simple. Toasted baguette, fried egg with garlic salt, butter and mayo spread and then we use Liquid seasoning(similar to soy sauce). The liquid seasoning is the BEST!!!!! So dang good Hello from California 👋

Xin chao! Been following since your California days from the Bay Area 😊Growing up my mom used to make trung chien during emergency when no food in frig. We either have it with rice or baguette, until this day I still make this dish, I use fish sauce instead of salt and soo good. Btw, I make your fresh kimchi recipe all the time. Thank you, enjoy Vietnam my homeland.

I can almost taste that wonderful bread through the screen 😂 The bread that is sometimes used in Australia for Banh Mi is almost criminal. It has to be right for it to be proper Banh Mi. I have to travel one hour for the authentic stuff. Coincidentally I have that chilli sauce in my fridge. I’m a chilli wimp with a history of sensitive stomach issues but I have various kinds of chilli sauces. When I see you guys adding chilli to things, I’m so envious of your iron guts. 😂 Even though this is a Banh Mi video I want to know how Vietnamese street vendors make traditional Banh Mi. I know it varies from region to region. Here so many places add Hoisin sauce and I think that’s wrong and not traditional? Thanks for this delicious recipe 🥚

I think you would have loved the banh mi cay (breadsticks with pate in them popular in Hai Phong, but you can find them in Hanoi, too). It's definitely the baguette there that makes everything tastes better, even egg sandwiches.
@bkm2797 Жыл бұрын
Too funny, can't tell you how many times I've burnt bread way past what little you did here,Lol. Looks tasty and I never thought of putting it on a baguette, it's a good thing. Seonkyoung, remember that incredible restaurant you went to in Taiwan, you were by yourself and I'm thinking kinda of sad that Jacob couldn't make it, but the meal was incredible with lots of seafood and a whole host of different delightful dishes, I would love to see you and Jacob share in a meal like that. Honestly wherever you two want to go, I know it will be fun to see or wish I was there to eat whatever dishes are on the menu. Enjoyed the cooking class, Thank you Seonkyoung and Jacob, see you next week!

Not all banh mi has those ingredients 🥖
@doodahgurlie Жыл бұрын
@@SeonkyoungLongest True. Just like not all banh mi have pate, which a lot of Westerners think they do. LOL! Tomato definitely isn't something that you'd see in traditional banh mi, either. I'm sure someone out there invented something that contains tomato in their banh mi, but it's definitely not a traditional ingredient used in these sandwiches. Cucumber, pickled carrots and daikon, yes.
