Making it tonight and I'm going to do the same and have some kimchi on the side. Last night was the first time I ever had kimchi, after buying a jar at the store, and I was imagining having it with ramen or a stir fry so I'm going to try it with this. I've made pretty much exact same recipe as this one with vegetables and I already know it's good. Hoping my ground beef is done thawing soon - if not it can just finish up in the pan lol, it's going on 7pm

Thank you, you gave my ground beef purpose tonight. Easy Peasy. My addition. I set aside 2 tablespoons of the sauce. I took out the beef, squirt of oil, sauted carrots and cabbage on same pan and tossed it with sauce set aside. Delicious! 🤌

I made this and it turned out great. The only thing I did differently was added a few chopped thai chilis to the mixture towards the end while waiting for the sauce to thicken. It turned out great and was a real crowd pleaser. I also sauteed some onions and orange bell pepper in the same sauce that I added to the beef and threw those on top of the rice as well and it made a great addition. Thanks for the recipe.

I pour my grease into a large glass measuring cup first while it’s still hot, then after it is cool I pour it in an old empty gallon water jug. Then I use this combined old grease to saturate a paper towel and light charcoal for the grill when needed. But never down the drain 🤦🏾♂️

Actually the beef would over cook. There’s a lot of liquid there. The worst thing u can do though is put it down the sink as the fat solidified and blocks the sink. I give it to my skinny sheepdog as a treat

@@simplereef4854 Sorry my fellow Vietnamese, it's what he main stream media and big pharmaceutical companies want you to believe. Fat is good for you, they don't cause diseases. Fat makes you full, they are full of vitamins. Fat is not the problem, it's the SUGAR, or anything that's sweet, and the wheat, grains, rice, bread, pasta, anything carbohydrate is bad for you because carbohydrate turns into sugar when entering your body. Too much sugar spike insulin resistance, leads to type 2 diabetes, heart diseases, strokes, etc. The pharmaceutical companies spread misinformation so they can make you sick so you go to the doctor, the doctors prescribes medicine, which is the medication these big pharma produce and sell for profit while there's absolutely no scientific evidence that the medicine works. So the patients keep coming back for more medicine. There's way more profit keeping you sick than curing you.

Theirs this Vietnamese place by my house it’s a mom and pop place, idk what they are doing but their beef comes out so tender and not dry compared to everything else around and Houston is known for its Vietnamese community, it’s like charbroiled? Idk how to describe it but the cut is thin and the skin almost has like a burnt look to it but it’s so juicy and tender

Just a thought: Have cucumber salad on the side, maybe quick pickled carrots. Celery and bean sprouts are more like Chinese/Cantonese additions, which are more bland preparations, whereas the flavor profile here is closer to Korean

Sam, do you have a grease trap for your kitchen sink? I noticed that you put the spoonfuls of grease into the sink. I use the empty plastic coffee containers or I just use a ziplock bag after the grease cools down a bit. And then dispose of it in the regular trash.
@freaknbigpanda5 жыл бұрын
If you run hot water and dawn soap down the sink it's fine, let alone you dump dawn down the drain everytime you clean something which clears grease right out of a pan without even scrubbing it if you wanted.

how important is the chili garlic sauce? I'd imagine it may over power the whole dish and make it spicy. I am going to try this and use a pork. Shoulder? Belly? I don't know yet but i'm just mainly worried about the cooking time being way too long for the belly and shoulder -- versus beef, you're eating it within 4 minutes after it hits the pan.

That 'liquid' you dumped into the sink drain is about 80% fat. I don't know how often you do this, but sooner or later, your going to have some big time issues in your plumbing.
