I’m black and I love Asian horror and psychological thriller books. There is just something about how they are written that I love. I started to notice the majority of the books I’d save to my to read list were written by Asian authors.

Help. Looking for an uplifting or happy novel written by an Asian or Asian-American author. I noticed I've been reading books that tend to have a sad or somber tone to them and would love to read something more tender and light to balance it out. Just finished reading Violets by Shin Kyung-Sook and need something to get me out of this sad bubble it left me in.

Amazing list, it made me remembers why I love multi-generational books. If you have the chance, look at WILD SWANS, it's about 4 Chinese women generations story, I still feel the way it impacted me. Greetings from Costa Rica (pura vida)

Laura Gao's graphic memoir Messy Roots. I read this book from cover to cover. It's pretty good. The author is lesbian. She likes women. Robin Ha's graphic memoir Almost American Girl. I read this book from cover to cover. I also read the Cook Korean! cookbook. I am about to read the author's graphic novel too just because it's written by the same author. The author doesn't talk about sexuality much, but I have heard that the graphic novel has sapphic/lesbian themes.

I enjoyed The Best We Could Do that I wanted something similar which I asked my local librarian who recommended Butterfly Yellow by Thanhhà Lai. I plan on reading it after I finish a January 2023 release Song of Silver Flame Like Night by Amélie Wen Zhao. I have too many on my TBR but an author I am super stoked to start reading is Yoon Ha Lee’s novels.

Hey Alexandra, I was looking to read some Asian books on self-development and military strategies like The art of war (Sun Tzu) and The book of five rings (Miyamoto Mushashi). Do you have recommendations?

I wish you left yhe name of the book on the screen while you talk about it. I sometimes look away from the screen and then have to go back to find which one you are talking about.

Yes, I was hoping there was a list that I could copy to my Notes, handy when I'm in the bookstore or library.
