Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this KZbin channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Kara and Nate, The problem with your food tour is that it’s all international foods. Which is great because Canada has become that country, it’s all foods you’ve had on the road in the various nations you have already visited. It doesn’t in anyway represent the delicious, indigenous food that is Canada. I’m not sure what that would be in B.C., Here locally in Ontario you are missing out on bison, venison, turtle, Pike, Bass, Catfish, Elk, banick thats a bread. Also strawberry juice and three sisters soup witch has corn, squash and turnips in it. And that is just a small sample of our menu. International food is great, having a true taste of Canada require some looking but is well worth the search.

Stinky tofu in Asia, or rotten fish in some other countries, are acquired taste that must be trained during childhood. Human have a threshold period to learn acceptance of rotten smelling food. It's a survival trait in prehistoric humans. Not even all locals like those foods.

That's a pretty hyperbolic statement. I'm sure Toronto's food scene is more diverse just by the sheer amount of people from all over the world that live there, but to downplay Vancouver's food scene like that is pretty disingenuous. I was in Vancouver last summer, and absolutely loved almost everything I ate. It's definitely a food-loving city that can hang with other, more well-known food cities.

So glad I ate before this vlog! Anyway, a while back I showed my mom your videos and it's inspired her to travel. My dad has always wanted to go everywhere, but the only place Mom would ever agree to go was the beach and Disney World. Well, last month she actually went to CHINA with my sister (Dad had to stay and work) and because of you guys made everyone try stinky tofu! She also went to Shanghai Disneyland which we all thought was quite hilarious, though!

Hi Kara & Nate - wow a great vlog - thank you for sharing - When we go to Malaysia we eat Roti all the time - one of our favourite foods. I love the Richmond night market! So many amazing foods, but walking past the stinky tofu stand is always rough! My go to drink stand (mango drink) is right next to it! The guys at the mochi stand are so sweet - their grandma hand makes the mochi every day.
