Great review. I have worn nimbus for many years as I supinate. As you stated I felt asics lost their way with this show around the late teens with 21 being the worst. With the 21's I had achilles tendinitis in the first pair until I had orthotics put in , then suffered plantar fasciitis when started wearing the second pair (both pairs bought together during a sale). Now rotating 23's and they have been a great improvement and about to break in a pair of 24's which feel even better.

I’ve been running in Gel Nimbus for decades and feel ASICS has really been cheeping out. My last two or three pairs haven’t lasted relative to the older ones. The uppers fall apart and the soles wear out much quicker! Every year I buy a new pair to run in and repurpose the old ones for walking, and eventually cutting the lawn, etc. My 16’s and 18’s are still going strong (uppers look almost new). 21’s and 22’s are in the landfill full of holes! 23’s aren’t far behind! Maybe it’s my age (mid 50’s), but the 23’s never felt nearly as cushioned as the older versions. At first glance I’m disappointed with the look of the 25’s and not pleased to learn they’ve removed the gel from the front. Wondering if ASICS has lost heir edge? If my next pair isn’t a huge improvement, I’ll be trying other brands after many years as a huge fan!

I've run into the same issue myself. have a pair of 18's I use for yardwork where the uppers are still going strong, but the sole is slap worn out, while my 23's have holes all over the place on top. I tried on a pair of the 25's at the store and do not care for the super high sole personally. I am curious of other people's opinion if you have tried them yourself.

I really like the nimbus line before the newest update with the thick soles. I have tried on many of the thicker soled shoes and found them to be uncomfortable and set my balance off. I've been looking for a while to find something similar to no avail so far and was wondering if anyone else has found anything similar enough to replace the older models. 🤔

I didn't like the change in the heel drop. I have achilles issues so i prefered the higher 13mm heel drop in the 24, a drop to 8mm and that slight rocker bottom at the back makes it now unsuitable for my feet, I'm going to pick up another pair of the 24 before they disappear

24 = legit design + heritage + casual usage + slim; 25 = hoka + high heels + kinda weird and futuristic. 24 should come back as Nimbus and 25 should part ways as Nimbus Plus/Max or something like that.

Thanks for the review Josh!!! Hot take I don’t like this update. I think it really doesn’t fit well, and its super different the last year. The nimbus too me over the years felt like a moderate light stability shoe and it’s really no longer fits that bill anymore.

Thanks for the review Josh!, Which Nimbus would you recommend for Under pronated foot ? Thanks in advance!
@SportitudeAus Жыл бұрын
Hi Ashish, The Nimbus 25 will be more supportive than its predecessor for someone with an underpronated foot type as there is a wider base and higher stack height which provides more resilience across the whole midsole but especially on the lateral border when in comparison to the Nimbus 24. Thanks for watching, We're glad you enjoyed it. Happy Running!

Thanks for the review. I have a bit of a wider (and flat) foot. You mentioned that toebox has a bit more room, which is good for me. Does the midfoot area also wider than let's say regular Nike shoes?
@DV1979 Жыл бұрын
I have wide foot too... I tried Asics nimbus 24 and 23, for me 23 is more comfortable... So I also want to know how is the 25. Good question!!!
@SportitudeAus Жыл бұрын
Hi There, Thank you for the feedback. Compared to the Nimbus 24 we've found that the Nimbus 25 offers more volume also through the mid-foot without compromising a great lockdown and snug fit. the Nimbus also comes in wider widths in both Mens and Womens which could also be something to consider. Hope this is helpful, Happy Running

I got the same opinion, 23 was much better for my flat feet arch support, although 25 and kayanos doesn’t give me that anymore, I’ve quickly tried cumulus and really feels more cushioned like old nimbus and Kayanos now. But I’m between going for 24 online, cumulus, or even glycerine from brooks (they are sooooo light). Do you think for those who working whole day standing up with kids like me would glycerine be enough like the ASICS gels comfort provided??? Thanks @SportitudeAus Ps Asking as we cannot return trainers in Australia like in USA and I don’t think it would be fair either

Great review! I've been a Nimbus wearer since the 20 and currently wear the 24. I'm in my early 50s and do more brisk walking vs. running and I have high arches. Do you think the 25 is better in my scenario? Thank you!
@SportitudeAus Жыл бұрын
Hi Tony, Glad you enjoyed the review! The Nimbus 25 will be absolutely suitable, it has a very broad surface area comparatively to the Nimbus 24 which makes it suitable for many different arch types, especially a higher arch. You will also likely find the extra cushion under foot will provide extra support and comfort. Happy Running!

Ive had all nimbus since 10. Was disappointed in 23 + 24. Considered leaving but the 25 to me, is a huge improvement. For race day I suggest you get fitted and try adios pro 3.. as a nimbus guy like you we might agree there

@@oliveranthony-sparholt5113 Thanks for the feedback! I've been using Nimbus since the 20 model. I wore my 24s at Disney World for 4 days at the parks. Brutal! They started out great but by about 5 PM, my feet were barking. I noticed a bunch of people wearing HOKA and it turns out there was a HOKA Outlet store in Orlando. I bought a pair of the HOKA Clifton 8 and developed blisters around my toes. I guess they need a break-in period. The Nimbus 25 looks similar to HOKA with the extra cushion on the sole. Fortunately, HOKA has a 30 day money back guarantee and plan to return and get the Nimbus 25. Although, I think HOKA has a lot of potential.
@tonyford3221 Жыл бұрын
@Q20 A0 Thanks for the feedback! I went to a specialty running store in my area. They said the same thing about Hoka. It works well for some people and many it doesn't. For the first time, I had my foot scanned by the Volumental scanning device. Based on my results, they brought out Brooks Glycerin, NB More and guess what...the Asics Nimbus 25. I ended up purchasing the Asics after trying them all on. They have a 30 day return policy. Hopefully the Nimbus 25 are enough of an improvement for me from my Nimbus 24. Finally, I'm officially 10.5 shoe size but have always worn 11 in the Asics. They suggested another half size to allow for swelling during my walks. So I got the 11.5. I really hope that makes the difference.

@SportitudeAus Жыл бұрын
Hi there, thanks for your comment. It's hard to say, our best recommendation would be to head into a running specialty store like Sportitude to try on a pair. Would also advise trying them on in a 2E width as this provides more volume through the forefoot and may help with the problem. Hope This helps! Happy running

I supernate and have worn Nimbus shoes for many years. But I find the last few pairs wear out on the rubber very quickly and eat into the midsole...therefore giving me only about 300km! Also they leave out the rubber on the outer lateral side of the forefoot which burns very quickly...I am therefore thinking of changing to NB 880v13...although different class of shoe but I believe it will give me more durability and value for money...sad to leave the nimbus range though...btw I am running with Hoka Bondi 7 at the moment. (all previous shoes were Nimbus)Nimbus 25, I find less stable on foot as compared with Bondi... @sportitude

The new Nimbus 25s sounds like they ignored technology and engineering, and went for a simplistic walking shoe design using the FF blast+ strait through, by removing the front gel, they lost the pop and the extra push for runners. I think they will make excellent walking shoes though.
@yalokim5264 Жыл бұрын
Too bad they've ruined the Nimbus. They should have done this to Cumulus - that name matches the idea of BIG clouds of foam 😂 NIMBUS, for me, never was MAX cushion shoe. Now it became "same as all". It is not a technology innovation, it is a sign of times... Too bad ($) But... I hope the innovation will come back after this high stack HYPE.

Thumbs down again, if you are in a hurry you need to avoid this guy. He will make you suffer through a lot of jibber, jabber and at the end he leaves it up to you to "figure out" how the shoes actually FEEL. As if we had to decipher all he read about them because he couldn't figure it out. Too bad, he should in plain english simply state AT THE BEGINING, how the shoes feel and THEN go into why that is so those of us who couldn't care less can go on about our business, and those of us who have some time can stick around for the details.

My Gel-Nimbus 24 with near 500Km ( ~310miles) still have a very good grip in dry roads and some how even better grip in wet roads and sidewalks. But looking at the outsole of my shoes they seems very ,very bad ( in the forefoot area. Because in the heel area , the rubber almost looks like new with AHAR+)and so for some one else looking at it would the think it is very slipy. I will soon buy the Gel-Nimbus 25 and my only concern is the color . I'm bettewn this copper orange or the gray with black.
