QOD: “recovery run” - you know what’s better for your legs and heart than 6 more miles at 5am to “flush out the legs?” … sleeping in and allowing for more adaptations. It’s like the commercials, “you know what’s cheaper than switching your car insurance to Geico?” Not having car insurance, actually. I think sleep and rest will become sexier across the culture. I think the need to feel control and run will still happen as it’s harder for most runner to NOT turn the door knob than to turn it- but at least that’s my projection for the majority

I'm so excited about this. I'm on my 5th pair of Glideride V1, getting ~500 miles in each pair (at 215 pounds). Skipped V2 as it looked a little overbuilt, V3 looks incredible. For a comparison, I think the Saucony Triumph 19 is in the ballpark, but that rocker shape and stiffer last really sets the GR apart. It gets better the farther I go. Can't wait to get this shoe- thanks for the review!

☆☆MAJOR, MAJOR piece about this shoe is that it has a Reinforced plate(plastic plate) sandwiched in between FF+blast and FlyteFoam. This plate gives you that rocker feel and propels you forward. This plate also, helps maintains the midsole shape.this helps the the runner flow efficiently through their gait. Glideride 3 is a high level shoe cushion, comfort and feel.

I love my Glideride 2. V1's were too narrow in the middle foot area. The foam was creasing on the inside and they didn't feel stable enough for my pronated legs. But I still loved that rocking motion when running in them. Then i bought v2's and it was like dream come true. Much wider in the middle, great comfort and stability. And they are built like a tank. The only two small drawbacks I have with them are a bit too narrow toebox and that decoupled groove which picks up quite big rocks. I started to collect them like souvenirs ;)

I have enjoyed both the GlideRide v1 and v2 and it looks like the v3 is a winner too! For similar shoes, maybe Saucony Endorphin Shift? Same rockered shape, plush upper, heavier weight, neutral but with added stability elements, and ability to hold up for long distance runs!

I’d closely compare this to the Nike React Infinity. They are still vastly different, but the purpose is very similar… innovation techniques to keep runners running. Hey Seth, I mean this with the utmost respect and appreciation, but wondering if you think you're still able to accurately predict durability of shoes when you don't seem to ever take any shoes any where near that 600mi/1000km mark. Of course I understand why you don't, if I had the chance to keep my feet in regular supply of fresh shoes I would too! but I think it's hard to predict those kind of miles if you're not actually doing them. I mention because a lot of people, myself included, had issues with the GR1 going dead after around 400kms, it was a dream shoe up til then and then just totally went hard and lifeless.
@spenceraronfeld44562 жыл бұрын
I think that’s a good point. I buy new shoes all the time- as soon as my feet start to hurt I know it’s time to go- and this usually happens around 200-250 for me.
@gbaker1252 жыл бұрын
I have been saying forever that Seth including the durability and price in the overall score doesn't make any sense. I think it's useful if he gives a general opinion about them ("high durability", "great value", "overpriced", etc.) but for a variety of reasons they just don't belong in the final score.
@KoIhara2 жыл бұрын
At best, Seth’s durability prediction should be re-scaled by the viewers to their respective “typical breakdown” miles… but they don’t really mean much to me, to be honest. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. If most of the viewers take their shoes past 400 mi, they probably wouldn’t buy that many shoes 😅
@antonioromulodelcarmen2832 жыл бұрын
Agree on that durability property. It's quite relative. The Rincons past 200kms are still looking good and feeling good for walking (therefore durable??) yet I wouldn't be picking them up for running anymore since they feel flat.

Lower drop shoes push more of the road forces to knee and hip. Higher drop shoes push more road forces between ankles and knees. So if your knees dont like glideride novablast might be better. You would be fine. It’s a late metarocker with a plastic plate. The Doctors of Running KZbin channel have a good video explaining the GlideRide 2 to check out.
