Thank you for the review. The superblast 2 never restocks in where I live, so I was considering getting the novablast 4. But because of the nature of my work, I do weighted runs regularly, which quickly wore out my nike pegasus 40. Eventually, I bought a pair of novablast 4 tr for the thicker outsole. But hearing comments from reviewers about the novablast 5, I'm tempted to get a pair for normal runs (or maybe I'll wait for the tr version)

Here's the thing...wearing your Superblast for anything besides long run with pace injection is like taking your maserati to get groceries. A pair of Novablast will handle everything from LSD down to easy/strides and even tempo for most people. Save your Superblasts and burn through your daily trainers. If not for the cost savings....do it for the frustration of trying to replace your 1st pair of Superblast! LOL I paid $260 CAD for the SB V2 at release direct from Asics, but it's now gone up to $280 CAD. While the NB VB4 is $180 CAD, no price listed for the NB V5 yet. But I'm suspecting $180 since the daily trainer market is very crowded, but the number of shoes that directly compete with the Superblast is VERY limited.

Very informative review! One limitation of the Superblast 2, besides it being difficult to find at the moment, is its size range. It appears to go up to only size 13 for men. The Novablast goes up to only size 15, but it runs a little big and fits my size 16 foot. I look forward to buying a couple pairs of the new Novablast 5 at the Harajuku, Tokyo, ASICS store soon. I was able to try on the Novablast 4 there earlier this year, the first time in decades I was able to try on shoes in a store. 😄

Me too. NB4TR feels perfect and soft enough, so i fear the NB5 beeing too soft for me. And I don't want a shoe to only use 30min max at asphalt ;)

There are so many great shoes from Asics launching all the time ! I'm not sure if I will get a GT 2000 13 or a Nova Blast 5 for Christmas and then in January/February, the new Gel-Nimbus 27 will launch . I love most running shoes brands, but Asics is my favorite in terms of the amount of great ahoes that interests me every year ! Forget GT2000 11+12! I don't know the new #13 but if they are not softer than #11 or MUCH softer than #12 then please forget them! #10 is perfect, a normal, boring FF midsole shoe. #11 is wider and way stiffer, it is hard! And #12 is like a brickstone! I'm not kidding. It is an unrunable planket of wood. There is no rolling, there is just slapping! No matter how you try to strike: heel, forefoot, somehow middle... Just hard and slapping the rest of the outsole to the ground. If you manage to find the very tiny sweet spot, the slapping and the shock to your body disappear. You have to land with the whole outsole at the excact same time on the ground - so perfectly midfoot striking i guess. And i am 90kg size eu 46 and never had this, not even close. If i cannot bend the midsole, who can? 200kg people? As is said i don't know the GT2000-13, but 11+12: no! I keep my new grey #10 and i have sold the rest. I don't know when i will use this, since my NB4TR is way more fun and the way better shoe + i have more shoes and everyone is better than the gt2000-10. It is totally ok, just with FF midsole it is boring and a little too hard i feel.
@philipppuchner111526 күн бұрын
Oh, and i exchanged my gt2000-12 in the store against the Nimbus 26 (with price difference since both have an uvp of 160 vs 200€). Nimbus beeing way better shoe. BUT: i also don't like it. Why? Because of meniscus problems i switched from heel- to forefoot striking and there the Nimbus is... sh*t. Extreme loud slapping to the ground, so loud that you feel silly and people are looking. I kid you not. When heel striking it is very nice! For walking, no matter how fast, it is very nice :) Stability comes from the wide shoe. You may feel like you are swimming in the shoe a bit, because of the high stack height in the heel + maybe the Gel insert plays a role in this? Anyway, because of this sink in, the shoe saps (your) energy over time. If you are a heel striker and don't run too fast for too long in the shoe, you may feel like it is the comfiest shoe ever! :) But don't run on your forefoot in there, because then you will hate them. Ah and back to gt2000: if you want a harder, more to the ground feel and FF midsole, look at the Noosa Tri 15. But only if you don't need something for stability - then the Noosa series is NOT for you. The new Noosa Tri 16 has finally gotten the midsole upgrade to FF Blast+ which makes the shoes bouncy for the first time in the series :)
@MiracleWarriors26 күн бұрын
@philipppuchner1115 that Noosa seems interesting for being lightweight and can be used without socks since the insole is not removable. I heard it is very strange too with the guardrails. I got to try then some time. Thanks for the suggestion.
